《Slasher House (Completed)》6

Thomas came out from his room with a jacket on and his hospital mask covering his mouth. He walked over to you and waited for you to open the door.
You walked down the driveway and to the gate which Norman buzzed the two of you out of. You walked down the street a little and to the bus stop which should be coming any minute now.
Thomas stood close beside you, almost as if you were going to run away. You looked down the street to see the bus coming and tugged on Thomas's sleeve. "That's our bus." he nodded.
You climbed aboard and the bus driver gave you a strange look. Probably directed more at the looming man behind you. You dropped your money in the box and took a seat big enough for both of you.
The bus began moving and you noticed Thomas. He sat rigid and tense. "It's okay Thomas. No one is going to notice you." you said kindly. He looked over at you and you gave him a warm smile.
Some of the worry melted from his face and he seemed even just a little better. He relaxed back into his seat but continued to watch everyone around you.
After the bus you walked in the train station. It was busier than it had been your first night. There were people everywhere and you instinctively grabbed Thomas's hand.
He looked down at you. "I don't want us to get seperated." you said as an explaination and pulled him through the crowd and to the map.
"There's a grocery market on the corner of fifth and main just a few blocks from here. So we need to take the.." you said trying to find your train.

"B train." Thomas said in a low voice. You looked up to him and smiled and then back at the map, he was right. You nodded and walked to the platform to wait for the train.
You continued to hold his hand until the train arrived to take you to the location. When it got there he made sure you went first and followed you to your seat.
He avoided all glances and side eyes and kept his attention on you. "So have you lived with them long?" you asked trying to make small talk.
"Five years." he said, looking over to you. "Do you like it?" he nodded in response. "They're nice." When your stop came Thomas stood and let you go first, making sure you made it to the exit.
You walked the short distance to the market and Thomas reached for your hand again. You smiled and slid your fingers between his.
**time skip the actual shopping**
After shopping Thomas insisted on carrying all the bags. While the store wasn't bad you filled out a form to have groceries delivered every third saturday and that way no one had to leave the house.
You made sure to put the house under your name and your name only. Even though it was a lot of food they didn't really question it.
Thomas seemed to open up a bit more on the ride home and maybe you were mistaken but he seemed to have smiled just once or twice.
You got home and unloaded all the groceries. "How did you do?" Norman asked entering the kitchen. "Good, I have deliveries set up and Thomas helped with most of it. It was nice to talk to someone who knows this place." you smiled.
"I didn't know he talked." Norman said with a eye roll as he grabbed an apple from your bags, leaving the kitchen.

A Prose of Years
For decades, spiritualist Evert Kallstrom and his team have joined in humanity’s millennia-long fight against the beasts. Wielding their weapons and their ki, they fought and killed these great threats to civilization. And yet, despite their efforts, humanity was losing traction in the war. In the last fifty years alone, more cities had been overrun than in all of known history. While most thought the great beasts natural, a few knew the terrible truth. They were the product of a dark lord, who desired neither fame nor wealth nor power. Instead, his sole purpose was the genocide of humanity. While their peers dithered, a small faction of the strongest mankind had to offer—including Evert Kallstrom and his team—set out towards the Deadlands to find and confront this dark lord. After weeks of travel, twenty-one spiritualists found themselves approaching an ancient fortress wherein rested a being known only as the Eastern Guardian. All they found was death. But death has other plans for Evert. Evert bolts awake in his 16 year old body near his hometown, decades in the past. He is confused, poor and weak. But with grit, sweat, and years of experience, he won't let the future repeat itself. That level of strength won't be enough by itself (it wasn’t last time) and victory is hardly assured (he’ll need to reach farther and higher than he ever did), but Evert refuses to squander a second chance. [Other tags: First Person POV, Hard Magic, Faulty Memory] Volume 1 is complete and has been fully released. My current intention is not to write any sequel volumes. That said, I have also released appendices (SPOILERS) that cover the worldbuilding and future story-that-never-was. Comments suggesting fixes for grammar, misspellings, etc. appreciated. Note: If you came here from Candlelit Lives, these stories have nothing in common.

Taking Another Look
It's been awhile since I last made a story, I feel like making a fake journal. A twist on thoughts. Although I say fake, I would say in actuality, real situations I just want to call fictional because life sucks at times.

The Atmos Chronicles
Dayton Harris was 3 years old when Earth came into contact with Alien Life. By comparison to what was out there, humans were not considered 'technologically advanced' nor even an 'intelligent species'. Folded into the Empire as an after-thought, nobody in the Central Sectors of the Empire spared a thought for the unknown world in the Outer Sectors. 'Small' didn't even begin to describe the situation of humanity. But Dayton isn't going to let that stop him. When he was 3 he dreamed of flying planes, growing up in a world with space ports made his ambitions grow. Now, his only goal is to get into a Military Academy so that he can learn the ins and outs of flying space ships.
