Parties are always the way to get over a shitty ex. At least that's what Gwen told me.

I was headed to a party. Dressed in my finest dress and my hair in loose curls, in a half up half down style

I entered the house that the party was being hosted in. The loud sound of music filled my ears. I could already tell they would be ringing by the end of the night

I made my way over to the drinks table. A large amount of options sat infront of me. I grabbed a beer bottle, not knowing what was in it.

Throughout the night people had continued to offer me drinks, and to not look like a looser I accepted their offers

I was sitting on the couch with a guy, a guy I didn't know. I was on my 4th bottle of beer, surely drunk by now

He reached over and began caressing my thigh, slowly moving his hand higher and higher

Boy- why don't we take this upstairs

I looked up to see Vance hopper infront of me, arm reached out for me to grab. Unaware of what was going to happen and what just happened, I grabbed his hand and let him lead me out of the house

Vance- shit, your really drunk

Y/n- ok and?

Vance- your parents are gonna kill you if you go home drunk. Drink this

He handed me a bottle of water. Without question I drank it, slowly starting to feel better

He walked me all the way to my house. We got to my bedroom window and helped me in before climbing in himself

I began to strip out of my now beer soaked dress

Vance- I should go

Y/n- no... stay

I put on my nightdress and got into my bed

Y/n- there's a sleeping bag in my wardrobe

Vance- y/n, you don't want me to stay

Y/n- yes I do

Vance- your not thinking straight

Y/n- no, for the first time in my life I think I'm thinking a lot straighter than usual

Vance- your a lightweight

Y/n- and your an alcoholic, perfect match

Vance- is it bad that your actually more tolerable when your drunk

Y/n- it should be a bad thing but I don't care

I set up the sleeping bag and he spent the night in my room. The next morning I let him out the window before anyone could find out.

My head was throbbing from the hangover but I just pretended to my parents I was sick.

I don't know what I would've done without vance last night. I could've ended up kidnapped or dead on the streets. He is a pretty decent guy underneath it all
