《second best // dnf》28. I Did it Again

It was just George and I. Alone. Together.
We both climbed on the sofa and clicked the TV on. We sat there in silence. I noticed he was fiddling with the golden locket that Ezra had given him.
He still hadn't taken it off.
I took a deep breath and announced, "George, I have to tell you something."
I looked at him, his dark hair, his gentle eyes his warm, sweet smile. He scooted closer to me and asked, "What's up?"
And before I could stop myself, I did it again...
I pressed my hands against his cheeks and brought him close to me, kissing him. I pulled away before he could and quickly said,
"I'm sorry, I did it again but I had to. I can't lie I love you and I'm not hiding it, I know I shouldn't kiss you and I won't do it again. Just know, I love you more than Ezra ever did- that piece of shit. He never deserved you and you are not worthless or useless, you're perfect. So yeah I'm sorry again but I had to. I'm... Im sorry but... I love you George... I really do."
He stared at me, expressionless. I tried to read his face but I just couldn't.
"Um George...?"
Completely unexpectedly, George smiled, he actually smiled. Then he came closer to me, slid his arms around my neck and kissed me back. With his eyes closed, he pressed his lips against mine. His fingers were cold on the back of my neck but I couldn't care less.
He kissed me. Georgenotfound kissed me.
I couldn't believe it. He slowly pulled away from me and whispered, "I...love you too."
I blinked in bewilderment.
"Y-you do?" I stammered, stupidly, my brain foggy with overwhelming thoughts.

"Of course I do!" he exclaimed, "You were always there for me even when I didn't want you to be. I'm not sure if I always had feelings for you and that Ezra just got in the way, I dunno but yeah I guess the truth is out."
I grinned, uncontrollably. A wonderful feeling of euphoria was rising in my stomach. Wrapping him up in my arms, I brought him close to me, taking his face in my hands and kissing him for as long as I could go without air.
When I pulled away, I tugged him into my lap and held him tightly. "You don't know how long I've dreamed of this moment George," I whispered, pressing my lips to his forehead.
As I rested my chin on top of his head, couldn't stop smiling.
Then, Sapnap strolled in, his expression immediately dropped as he saw George curled up in my lap. I practically jumped up and begged,
"W-what's happening...?" he whispered.
"Sapnap please let me explain! It's not what it looks like- well maybe it is but-"
He silenced me and with a half-hearted smile said, "Don't. I'm fine. You guys deserve each other."
"Thank you Sapnap," I smiled, relief washing over my body.
"One rule though!" he demanded, "No fucking each other in George's room at night, I don't wanna here that, I'm right next door!"
"SAPNAP!" I shrieked and George blushed a furious shade of red.
"I'm kidding! I'm kidding!" he drawled and went to left the room but quickly spun around and mouthed, "So not kidding."
"SAPNAP!" I yelled again as he stalked into the kitchen. George had rested his head on my chest and I was twirling his hair around in my fingers.

I was still so utterly shocked about what had happened in the last day or so. Last night I get totally wasted, then I embarrass him in front of everyone, then he admitted everything about Ezra, then we came home and he slept beside me, then he comforted me as I threw up and now here we are. I kissed him, he kissed me back and now we're here.
How did all of that happen in so little time?
My eyelids were getting heavy and George had already dozed off, he was asleep against my chest. I scooped him up, in the way Sapnap does, bridal style, and carried him upstairs, grabbing his crutches along the way.
He stirred in his sleep and then woke up. "Hello," he yawned as I laid him down on the bed and climbed in too. He reached for his crutches and stumbled off to his own room.
"Please stay," I mumbled, pulling the duvet over my body and George spun around and replied, "I probably shouldn't."
I sighed sadly as he left the room and then, to my surprise, a few minutes later he appeared in the doorway. He came silently back into my room. I pulled back the covers, allowing him to climb in because I know he wanted to. I slid my arms around his waist and pulled him towards me. We both fell asleep.
