I opened my eyes and the white light blinded me. I'm dead.

"Emily?" a soft voice called me. I turned my head and faced Nina.

I wasn't dead, I woke up in a hospital, totally unaware of everything around me.

"You're back! Bitch, you got me scared for a second!" she sat next to me and caressed my hand.

I smiled:" What happened? Where am I?" my arm was attached to the bottle of infusion.

"Girl, you passed out. You suffered a minor concussion when you fell after this motherfucker was choking you."

Memories of his hand around my neck came back and fear and terror took over my body.

"Shit, calm down. It's okay, you're okay. He won't ever hurt you again, don't worry." she hugged me and it felt so good to have her close to me. I needed her.

"Where is he, what happened after that?" I asked.

She continued to tell me how someone saw us and shouted that I needed help. People rushed out, including Nick. Eric apparently froze and stood there very still. Nick picked me up and stayed with me until the ambulance came. Supposedly he never left my side.

"Where is Nick now?"

"He's here, in the waiting room. He said he'll step out only out of respect for me" - she rolled her eyes: " So damn protective already."

My heart smiled. I guess he really cares about me.

"What about Eric?"

"Yeah, that fucker. Some guys took care of him until police came. I think he stayed quiet and frozen all the time. Nick told me he was shouting at him but he didn't answer.

Girl, Nick is totally confused. I mean, his brother that 'just met' the woman he's really interested in, almost killed her a few minutes later. He's full of questions. He was asking me about it but I've told him this is something you two should talk about. I just asked him to have patience and understanding. I told him all of this is very hard for you. "

I nodded." Yeah. God, I have to tell him everything. But before that, I have to talk to someone first.

Nina, you have to get Eric's wife, Alice here. I have to talk to her. "

Her eyes widened: " Bitch, I guess your concussion wasn't minor at all!"
