《Mask of lies // Sky media meets mystreet》Chapter 10: Last one...

Third person
Sky slowed to a stop to scan the beautiful meadow with his golden brown eyes. The grass was a luscious green and was long. The wind was light and it made little whistling noises as it rushed through the air. The sun was as bright as ever and it seemed to smile down at them as it sent its beautiful golden rays to dance across the sky. The endless sky had a gradient between a rich blue and a light baby blue. Clouds were scattered across it like sheep in a blue field. A strange Purple and white snow drop like flower could be seen among the cannery yellow daffodils and blood red poppies. An ancient maple oak tree with sunset like leaves stood proudly in the center and grew dragon fruit.
It was quiet obvious they were in a completely new part of the earth or not on the earth at all. Jessica stopped right beside sky and looked over the majestic grassland. Her gaze was broken by a falling red head girl who may have turned back to human a little to soon. Everyone rushed over to Shelby, who's silver paper crown was somehow still firmly planted on her precious head. Aphmau looked down at the girl as she was spread across the land. A giggle escaped her lips as she jumped back up. She helped Mason off of his fathers back and Alisha hopped down. Aaron carefully got off of his girlfriends back and she quickly turned back to a human as well as Sky did.
"We are about fifty miles from the boarder," Shelby said as she rolled out a tea stained map. Jess glanced over her friends shoulder to get a look for herself. She raised an eyebrow as she turned to Ross. "Why is Thunder Muffin in the center of the kingdom?" She asked with confusion lacing her angelic voice. The curly, brown haired boy raised his shoulders before lowering them. He just gave a thumbs up then waddled over to the lone tree.
Sometimes Jessica questioned what went through the mind of her friends on a daily basis. However, that's what she loved about them. The fact that they could all act crazy around each other without calling a mental hospital for the other person. "I gave you that map yesterday, how in the world did it get that color?" Jin asked as he folded his thin arms over his chest. "I wanted it to look all old and important, so I tea stained it," Shelby admitted with hints of joy and guilt audible in her high pitched voice. Jin allowed a sigh of disappointment escape his dry mouth as he sat down on the soft grass.

Ross waddled over to the tree as he muttered inaudible things to himself. He slowed to a stroll as he approached the wonderful piece of nature. As he neared it, he noticed thousands of rings rapping around the slightly leaning trunk. Gently, he placed a hand onto it and felt the bark. It was dry, soft and sticky. The trunk was dark and seemed to glint in the early evening sun. However, when Ross tilted his head in a slight angle, it seemed to glow a majestic, dark orange at it's lengthy and withered roots.
He cocked his head slightly to the right as he examined the ancient tree that looked as if it was crafted from the divine hands of mother nature herself. He drowned out the faded echos of his friends voices as he circulated it. The tree was beautifully peculiar. The branches seemed to reach for the sun and the orange leaves made it seem as if the tree its self was on fire. The trunk seemed to twist and turn yet it seemed perfectly straight.
Ross began to climb up the remote tree, carefully. Making sure he didn't snap any of the delicate twigs or branches, he maneuvered his way up the old piece of nature. "Ross!" A worried call echoed through his ears, snapping him out of his thoughts. "I'm a squirrel!" He called back as he plucked a small fruit from an unusually minuscule branch. He stared at the fascia pink dragon fruit that were grasped in his soft hands. He allowed himself to scan it with his hickory brown eyes through his spotless glasses.
"I want to sleep near the tree!" Jess whaled for about the thousandth time as she flung her sun kissed arms into the clean air. Sky rolled his eyes as he glanced over his shoulder to see his wife and son resting on the soft and comfortable luscious, lime green grass. He flashed a pitiful smile as he walked towards them. Mason was laying in Alisa's sturdy arms and a slight yawn escaped his tiny mouth. "Sorry to be so unorganized," Sky apologize as he sat down on the ground. "Don't worry, it's fine," She said with a slight nod of the head. "Would you like me to take Mason," Sky demanded more than asked. Alisa obliged and handed him the small child.

Alisa wondered over to Ross, who was occupied inspecting a fallen brunch. He must of not noticed Alisa's appearance because when he spun around he walked straight into her. "Sorry," He mumbled. Alisa smiled warmly at him as he continued to study the stick. "What's so interesting about this tree," Alisa asked with traces of curiosity evident in her tired voice. Ross beckoned the red headed girl towards the strange tree.
"If you move your head a little it has a slight orange tint," Ross explained as he moved Alisa's head into the perfect position. She furrowed her thin eyebrows together as she stared at the tree with confusion and awe. "Also, it is a maple tree and it's growing dragon fruit," He said as he held out the small fruit in his palm. "That doesn't explain why you have been staring at an old tree for the past ten minutes," She said as she folded her arms. Ross opened his mouth to say something but he was interrupted by Zane calling them over for dinner.

Aaron woke up before everyone else. He climbed over Jess and excited the purple tent. He poked his head out of the temporary living space. The sky was a beautiful dark blue with twinkling stars scattered across the endless void. He breathed in the wispy night air and looked over the field. He stepped out into the peaceful grass land and swiftly walked towards the tree.
He thought it was strange that Ross had uttered barley a word at the evening meal. Instead all he did was stare at the grass and a Lilly that was weltering before him. A sudden noise startled him and he looked around alarmed and panicked before realizing it was a owl that rested on a branch of the tree. He drew a shaky breath, thankful for it not being a person.
"What are you doing?" Ross asked at the man below him. Aaron looked up in surprise and almost yelped but he covered his mouth to muffle it. "I could ask you the same thing," Aaron said as he stood up straight. "Studying," He said with a shrug of a shoulder. Aaron knitted his eyebrows together, about to ask why before deciding it wasn't worth it. "I was wondering why you were so interested in this old log, so I decided to investigate for myself," He said as he turned on his hills, not wanting to disturb Ross.

Jessica stood in front of the vast, golden gates of the kingdom. Her friends behind her as well as her past. She took a deep breath before lightly pushing the gate. She was met with a beautiful metropolis and busy roads despite being at the boarders. Her eyes glazed over the city as she drank in all of it's lights and colors. Her heart began to race as she began to take a step forward but was stopped by a muscular hand. Aaron smiled at his girl friend as he laid a hand on her small shoulder. She smiled warmly back at him as she took a step into her old home.
No.
She smiled warmly back at him as she took a step into her new home.
There was a lot waiting for her there.
And this was going to be one ride for Jess.
And the last one...

When Danny's estranged Uncle Enoch dies under mysterious circumstances, he and his Keepers are called to the town of Eddystone, New Hampshire for the reading of the man's will. Traveling four hundred miles from his dreaded hometown to attend, Danny is happy to get away, possibly inherit something interesting- and maybe find out more about his family while he's there. Arriving at the crumbling family estate of Gnomewood Home, he finds it to be hauntingly familiar, a bit creepy, oddly comforting, and possibly alive. When his uncle's will reveals that he's inherited Gnomewood and everything in it, he's determined to stay and make a happier life for himself in Eddystone, somehow. But at Gnomewood, he finds more questions than answers to his family's secrets. Disturbing old memories come to him in dreams. His psychic abilities begin to grow stronger, and as a result he becomes aware that a horde of cryptic creatures are plaguing the town of Eddystone, seemingly drawn out by the spell of an unusually frigid February. Toothy little goblins that are sneaky, vicious, and hungry. Goblins that take a particular interest in Danny. Will the emergence of the alien, and potentially dangerous, power he's inherited from his peculiar family tree help Danny survive the goblin infested winter, inadvisable attempts to befriend a terrifying boy with silver eyes, and a new school? Only if he learns to control them before they put him and everyone around him in danger. Before they convince some people that he should never have been allowed to exist at all. Before he becomes just another twisted tale in his family's bizarre history, kept hidden for centuries within the ivy-covered walls of Gnomewood Home.
