《Sandboy》Marinette's point of view

The battle is hot and heavy. On one side I have Rena Rouge and Carapace fighting Sandboy and on the other I’m completely alone with Chat Blanc. We’re tired, cold, and wet. I’m a wreck and worried sick about Chat Noir, Rena Rouge is trying her best, but she keeps having to leave and re-fuel her Kwami, and Carapace is just fighting and being awesome in the process.

By now I’ve lost my lucky charm and am back to the starting point. I don’t need a lucky charm to defeat sandboy, I just need it to fix chat noir and to get rid of everyone’s nightmares.

I see a flash of blonde and it reminded me of Adrien. Augh, I shouldn’t have left him alone. I should have brought him home. I was lost in thought and didn’t realize that Chat Blanc had come up behind me. I got hit by one of his disks and it felt like... I don’t even know how to describe it. It's like all your organs are being eaten inside out. After the nausea and excruciating pain passes, I stand up to fight. Chat Noir, now would be a wonderful time to show up.

“So m'lady, how did us against the world become you against me?” I turn in surprise to see Chat Noir standing right by my side. He looked like hell but he’s here and that made me smile. I turn back to face Chat Blanc, but with more confidence knowing that I have my partner by my side.

“Long story. Chat, this is Chat Blanc. The akumatuized version of you.” A smile flashes across his face. He’s enjoying this.

“M'lady,” he turns towards me and leans on his stick smiling, “why would you let me get akumatuized?”

“Chat, there are more pressing matters at hand.” I smile and shake my head as we turn back to the battle.

I dodge the cataclysmic disc he throws at me. Chat Noir, not so much. He can barely twirl his staff let alone run. I’m not entirely sure he’ll survive this fight, but I’m too busy to cry about it. What he’s doing is working so I'm not complaining.

“M'lady, now would be a perfect time for you to use that lucky charm of yours.” Chat Noir falls to his knees, violently coughing and shaking. I knew he couldn’t fight. Ugh, his stubbornness is slightly annoying but I love the determination. I run over to him before he hit the ground. I can see the blood seeping through his hands and tears sprang to my eyes. I grab him and we take cover behind a chimney.

“Rena Rouge,” I yell to her, “I need you to create an illusion of me and Chat Noir while I help him.”

Chat Noir had stopped coughing but stared in utter horror at the amount of blood in his hand. Chat Noir’s face had gone white and he looked like he'd just seen a ghost.

“Hey, Chat,” I kneel down and place a hand on his shoulder, “no more fighting for you.”

He tries to protest but I won’t hear it. I can’t have him dying on me. I don’t think my miraculous ladybugs can bring people back, and it's not a chance I’m willing to take.

“No. That’s final.” He was angry and tried to show me that he could stand and fight, but failed and ended up proving my point. I began walking away, but a thought came to my mind that this might be the last time I’ll ever see my partner. I turn around and crash into his arms, causing him lots of pain.

“I’ll fix everything,” I whisper into his shoulder, “I promise.”

“I know you will.” He gasps in pain as he returns my hug. I’m so sorry, Chat.
