"Well looky here. We have a full house today don't we?" Said Tyler. He smiled to everyone in the room, and it widen a bit when it landed on Tim.

"I heard you have your last game of the season coming up?" He said

"Yep. The scouts from one the schools that offered me full ride are coming back. So I gotta show off a bit more." Tim said.

"I'll have to come." Tyler said

"Please do." I looked between the two. I leaned a little closer to Becks. "What's going on there?" I asked.

"I'll tell you later." She said while looking at Tim with a wide smile.

My dad walked over to me scooting pass Tate and putting a kiss on my forehead. "Hey, Nemo."

"Hey, papa." I said.

"Sir?" Tate said. My dad stiffened for second and the turned to Tate from over his shoulder

"Yes?" He said

"Could me and Rebecca talk to you for a moment?" He said. He looked so nervous. My father looked at him and Becks then at me. I nodded at him.

My dad huffed and then nodded. "Alright. Shall we step out?" He said.

"Coolio!" Said Becks as she began to untangle herself from me and making her way towards the door. And my father filled after her.

Before leaving after my father, Tate turned to me with a nervous smile. "Wish me luck?"

I grabbed his hand and gave it a quick kiss. "Good luck." I said. He seemed a bit stunned for a second then all sense of nervousness was gone from his eyes. And grabbed my hand and kissed it back. He then let go and followed from behind my father.

When they left Tim sprung into action. "Hey T. Can I talk to you over here real quick?" He said.

Tyler hesitated for a moment. He was looking over my chart and was about to start going over my vitals and getting started with his doctory stuff. But he ended up nodded and just took the chart over with him to the other side of the room.

Now it just me and Mike. How awkward.

"So? Your heart? Sucks." He said at an awkward attempt of a conversation.

"Yeah. It does." I said.

"Have you always had a shitty heart?" He asked.

I looked up at him at the end of the bed. "Yes. I was born like this. Though they didn't expect me to survive this long." I said with a empty laugh.

"Well...good on you for proving everyone wrong." He said with a weird attempt at a comforting smile.

"You seem uncomfortable." I stated.

"I hate hospitals. Never any good memories here." He said blankly, looking down at his feet.

"You mean Jada, right?" It slipped out before I had time to think. His eyes were on me as soon as her name left my mouth. He took a deep breath, folded his arms, and sat back in his seat with his gaze was trained on me.

"He told you about that?" He asked

I nodded. "He wanted to explain. Explain why he was the way he was. Why he was a-"

"-an emotionally unavailable dick. Yeah....it the charm of being a son of a Mancini. However, Tim never really got the entirety of that trait." He said with a chuckle. He ran his hand through his hair.

"What trait did he not get?" I asked curiously.

"Tim is little more open with his feelings. That's why girls fall for him quicker. But sadly, his only love was football. And he's probably the sweetest person I ever met. Sometimes I can't believe we're related." He said. And I can honestly say that this was the first time I genuinely saw Mike smile.

Don't get me wrong, Mike always had smile on his face, but it was never real. There was always something behind it. An intention. Mischief. Flirtation. Cruelty. But this was a smile filled with love and admiration for his little brother.

"This is the first time I've seen you really smile." I said smiling back.

He took a breath. "It's hard not to smile when talking about someone you love." He said.

"That's true." I said. This conversation wasn't actually bad. We were doing pretty good. "Thank you." I said.

He seemed caught off guard which was a rare sight and I couldn't help but laugh. "For what?"

"We haven't had the greatest track record when it comes to conversations but you came and saw me anyway. I could care less if it was for me or for Becks. I appreciate it all the same. She puts on a brave face for me, but I know she's scared. And though she will NEVER admit it. Your presence does make a difference." I said honestly. If she found out I told him that she's kill me but oh well.

He just nodded. And for the rest of the time we stayed in comfortable silence.

Tate, Becks, and My dad came through the door a few minutes later and Tim and Tyler came back and joined the group. Everyone had bright smiles on there faces. So I'm guessing there conversations went well.

"Well, we must be on our way, mi amiga." Becks said with a wide smile. She walked over and kissed my forehead. "See you tomorrow."

"Wow! Wait! You guys just got here?!" I yelled.

Tim came over to me kissed my forehead, as well. "I have practice a little later, so she's taking me. But I'll see you tomorrow. Bye." He followed after Becks.

Mike got up and patted my head. "See ya!" And left behind his brother. Progress.

I looked at Tate. He walked over and bent down and whispered. "I got to go to. I have training with my father and then me and Mike have a fight tonight." He kissed the top of my head and the gave me an apologetic smile.

"I'll see you tomorrow, little owl." He said and began to leave.

"I'll walk you out." My dad said. "I'll be right back, Nemo." And he followed after Tate.

And now it was just me and Tyler. I looked at him flabbergasted. "Was I just ditched?" I asked

He laughed to himself, and began to walk over to me and began taking my vitals. "I believe you were." He said.

"Wow. What friend they are." I said in a huff.

"They are. Good friends." He said with smile. "Make me happy that in the short time you were at that school that you formed those bonds. You never really clicked with any of the kids in house." He said while scribbling on his chart thing.

I shrugged my shoulders. "Maybe they just never clicked with me. Besides the one friend I did have ended up transferring high schools, and I never heard from him again. After that I just kind of stayed to myself." I said nonchalantly.

"Yeah. Well I'm happy regardless. They're good kids." He said.

"Yeah. I know." I said with a smile. Mike was right you couldn't help but smile when thinking about the people you love.
