It was another day, Camilo was helping someone as per usual and you were off helping another baby as their mom took a nap.

"Yo! Camilo!" Someone said, Camilo turned around. "Mateo!" Camilo said, smiling at him. "What's up man?" Camilo asked, turning to them.

Mateo had light brown skin, and sunny blonde hair that bounced with every move. He had an afro, his bangs basically covering his warm grey eyes.

"Nothing much bro." Mateo smiled and brought his hand up for a hand shake the two boys made. "I need some help with something and I know you're the man for the job." Mateo said.

Camilo had turned into Mateo for this job helping him put up a banner for his dad's birthday.

Once they were done they stood back and high-fived each other.

The same feeling appeared in his chest as he walked away. It was the same feeling he got when he was Miguel. He raised an eyebrow. What's up with that? He questioned looking down at Mateos' hands. His lips pressed together as he got lost in thought.

He bumped into someone without realizing. "Oh jeez, I'm sorry." Camilo began to say. He looked at who he had bumped into. It was you.

His eyes widened. He was still shapeshifted into Mateo as he began to internally freak out.

"No, that was my bad for standing in the middle of the road like this." You said to reassure him. He noticed the bread on the floor was now ruined because of bumping into you and he needed to make up for it somehow.

Camilo squatted down picking up a loaf of bread. "Let me at least get you some more bread since I ruined the one here." He said tossing the loaf of bread in the arm.

When at the bakery Camilo bought twice the amount of bread you got at first. He handed it to you, smiled as he placed the change in his pockets.

"Wait!" You yelled catching up to him. "I can't take all of this bread!" You said grabbing half of the stack. "Here, take some'' You said, giving him half. Camilo blankly stared at you then back at the bread briefly forgetting that he was still shapeshifted as Mateo. "Uh.." He stuttered, "I bought it for you, I don't need this." He said handing the bread back to you, he scratched the back of his head.

"No really take it, I insist." You said pushing the bread back at him.

"It's kind of rude for you to return a gift to the person who gifted it to you." Camilo said playfully, shaking your head in disappointment. "My parents asked for half of this amount. If I came back with more, the food would go to waste."

Camilo was still shapeshifted as Mateo frowned. "Well that's no fun." He said finally accepting the bread. "Well it's not for sure going to happen, it's just my little theory" You said nodding your head. you thanked him for the bread and made your way home.

The next day you ran into the same guy again. "Oh hey. Thanks for the bread. Though I never got your name." You said. The boy looked at you. "Mateo,'' he said smiling, "And what's yours, beautiful?"

You pouted as you began to blush. "Y/N..." You said looking off to the side to see Camilo being dragged along by an ecstatic Sofia.

"And, about that bread." Mateo said, rearing towards your face. "It was a cute excuse to try and talk to me." He smiled, backing up.

Wait, you were confused, "But" You chuckled, "You bought me some bread... A-After bumping into me." You tried to explain.

Mateo didn't seem to buy it. Camilo looked around and noticed you trying to talk to Mateo. "Oh no." His face dropped. He rushed toward the two of you bumping Mateo out of jframe. You watched him fall. "Camilo what the heck." You said going to help Mateo out.

"Look at the time! Time for you to go find someone to help!" Camilo said, pushing you away. "W-Wha-? Camilo." You yelled turning around to face him, "What is up with you?" "Nothing!" Camilo said nervously, smiling.

Just then you both hear a baby start to cry. "Look at that! We should go help out!" Camilo began to drag you away.

Mateo tends to stay at home because that's just who he is. He very much likes his house.

So when Camilo noticed this he shapeshifted into his friend and went on his way to find you.

When he did, he went up to you apologizing for what he said, that he does remember buying you that loaf of bread. "I tend to be grumpy in the mornings which is why I probably didn't recognize you." 'Mateo' lied. "Oh, no it's completely fine." You said, flapping your hands, "Don't worry about it."

You and 'Mateo' stood in awkward silence, "M-Maybe I could make it up to you?" He said. "Make up for what?" You raised an eyebrow.

"Make up for earlier."

"You don't need to!"

"Right but I insist." He smiled, he clapped his hands up to his chin. You weren't completely sure, but you were sure under his bangs, he was batting his eyes.

"Okay then." You said giving in with a smile. 'Mateo' smiled "Great!" He grabbed your arm and dragged you along. "So where are we going?" You asked, trying to keep up with him. "Wherever our legs take us!" He laughed.

A simple walk with who you thought was Mateo was Camilo shapeshifted as him. You didn't know Camilo's secret, but Camilo tried his best to get you to avoid the real Mateo.

You enjoyed his company.

Like how hard you laughed with him when he did something stupidly funny, or how he would look out for you overreacting when you just so much get a paper cut from reading a book.

To peaceful moments when it would be just you and him, like when you sat backed against a tree trunk and at first, "Mateo" would lay somewhere in eyesight.

You would get distracted from your book and look up to see him run around doing cartwheels, granted they weren't the best, but he was having fun.

Sometimes you would take a break from reading looking up at the sky, your eyes would land on him looking at a plant with a butterfly on it.

The way he examined the butterfly, and how surprised he would get when the butterfly started to fly away when he would touch it, or when he would start to chase it only to eventually trip and fall.

Simple moments when he mustered up the courage when you let him lay on your lap. How he would fall asleep watching you read your book. Or when you both got bored, he would drag you to lay on the ground with him to watch the clouds.

How you would blush when the day came when he held your hand for the first time.

The way he would hold you when the two of you played hide and go seek and he finally found you.

The way he spun you around and looked at you like you were the greatest thing that ever happened to him.

You don't even remember when things like this started to become daily things.

Or when you started to become happy seeing him walk up to you with that smile.

When did holding his hand feel so... right?

You don't remember when you started to love and cherish all of these moments, when these feelings started to develop inside of you; if they had been there all that time. You still couldn't believe that you met 'Mateo' only a month ago, it felt like you had known him for longer.

You laid facing up on your bed, you stared at the ceiling.

You smiled remembering when "Mateo" surprised you with a flower.

He carefully put it behind your ear and cupped your face. "Beautiful." He whispered under his breath. You felt your knees go weak. Keeping your ground you looked down blushing.

He gently lifted your head and kissed your forehead, you almost felt like fainting by the way he looked at you.

You covered your face with your pillow and kicked your bed now laying on your side.

Ugh and the way he looked at you. The thought of him looking at you with his gentle expression made your stomach fill with butterflies.

You couldn't believe how you met him a month ago and he's gotten you like this.

You remembered 'Mateo' telling you to avoid him in the mornings because that's when he's still grumpy from leaving his bed. You listened to him and believed what he said.

It was another day and you read your book. 'Mateo' laid his head on your lap watching you read. He loved the faces you would make when you read the book.

He took a deep breath in and exhaled, closing his eyes. You set your book down and started to play with "Mateo's hair.

You and 'Mateo' smiled, "Your hair is very pretty." You said, it was almost in a whisper. He hummed in response. You brushed your fingers through his hair revealing his eyes. His eyelashes were long and they looked soft. He opened up his eyes for you to see his warm grey eyes.

You really liked him, huh?

The two of you began to walk home. Your hands were intertwined with one another as he swung your hands, every now and then he would twirl you around like the two of you were dancing but each time you shied away and continued to walk.

You crossed the bridge as 'Mateo' spun you again. This time he was surprised to see you didn't back away. He caught you left arms in the air and still intertwined with the other. His right arm went around your waist and yours on his shoulder. He smiled out of shock, and so did you.

You stared into his eyes now that you knew where and how they looked, it was easier to see where they were through his bangs.

'Mateo' leaned in a bit.

You began to blush, that meant he wanted to kiss you right? You thought as you internally freaked out. You collected yourself with a deep breath in. You slowly let it out leaning in a bit. He leaned in some more and so did you copying his movements.

Just as you were about to kiss, you heard someone call out. You thought it was your name, so you quickly pushed him away.

You were about to turn around when you saw 'Mateo' shapeshift into different people then back to his original self as Camilo.

Your eyes grew wide as you watched it happen. You didn't want to believe it. Camilo slowly looked up at you scared of how you would react. His face dropped when he saw you standing there with a hurt expression. You looked as if you were about to cry.

"Y/N-" Camilo said, reaching out for you. You backed up, "How..." You stuttered, "How long?" Your voice quivered.

Camilo's breath quickened, "A month." He admitted, there was no use in lying to you anymore.

You pressed your lips together. Your eyebrows knitted together. "Y/N, please-" Camilo tried to explain, but you wouldn't listen.

You began to walk away.

You had known him for a month. He had lied to you for a month.

Did that mean that all the stuff you guys did were lies as well?

You were heartbroken.

You felt Camilo grab your arm stopping you.

You turned around, there were tears in your eyes. Camilo let your arm go upon seeing you.

You sniffed, wiping away your tears with your arm and you walked away.

This time Camilo stood and watched you disappear.

He watched the one he loved slip away from his grasp.
