Close your eyes and imagine this,

Forests providing beauty and bliss,

Lush green trees reaching the skies,

Giving us the oxygen we need to get by.

Now keep them closed as I tell you more,

Imagine those trees falling to the floor,

Invaluable treasures ruined all around,

Raging fires bringing their ashes to the ground.

Often destroyed for their separate parts,

Done without mercy, no regret in their hearts,

Every second, acres of forest are cut down,

Magnificence reduced to stumps of brown.

Small seedlings once carefully planted,

Turned into riches taken for granted,

All we can do now is learn how to take care,

Of the little woodland left- do not stay unaware.
