Five days later...

"Did you like the venue here?", Abhishek asked sipping on his frozen mudslide. She hesitantly looked around the lavish decor of the cafe and uncomfortably nodded her head. Why had he brought her to such expensive place? Was it necessary? She wasn't feeling a bit comfortable here and was continuosly cursing herself mentally for agreeing to come here along with him.

"So what would you like to have for starters?",he asked passing her an adorable smile while reaching out to hold her hands but she instantly jerked his hands away in reflex with her face immediately showing a disgusted look on it. But when she realised that she had acted a bit rude towards him, she quickly masked her hesitation and replied "I'm feeling a bit uncomfortable. I hope you understand!"

He nodded bitterly while retracing his hands slowly away from her hand and shoved it quickly inside his pocket. Both started sipping on their drinks in utter silence when finally Abhishek spoke...

"I wanted to tell you something Aranya for so long but I couldn't get time to say it to you. The day you joined the resturant was the day when things started changing drastically in my life. I don't know what was happening to me but whatever was happening, it was really a magical essence",he replied with great emotion, staring deep into her brown orbs while standing up from his seat and bent down on his one knee in front of her. Removing a black satin box out of his pocket, he opened it slowly revealing a beautiful cushion cut diamond ring and continued "I didn't realised when I started to fall for you. So deeply and intensely that a..."

"St-stop! I don't w-want to hear anything f...further",she almost yelled with tears running down her cheeks. Why is every men in her life wanting to have her? Why can't she live a peaceful life?

All she wanted from him was a good friendship and a brotherly protection but it turned out that he took advantage of her generosity. He wanted to have her in his life when she already can't move out of her previous life completely. She immediately ran towards the washroom and closing the door behind, she started crying her heart out.

Her whole face was looking terrible with smudged mascara and red runny nose. After few minutes, she took out few clean tissues from her slingbag and wiped her face clean. As she came out of the washroom, she quickly got frightened on seeing him standing there staring at her with concern filled eyes. He had a frown on his face with his forehead creased.

"I-I'm sorry! I...If I have hurt you th-than I truly apologize. I didn't meant to hurt you!",he said cupping her face and wiping her teary eyes with the rough padding of his thumb. She looked at him for a while and nodded her head while giving him a side hug.

"I'm sorry too for freaking out and creating a mess in public! Actually Abhishek...I'm already married a...",she was about to speak further when she noticed him stiffening abruptly after hearing her words...

"You're already married? Why haven't you told me this thing earlier?",he asked getting shocked as well as a bit infuriated...

"No...I'm actually divorced from my husband!",she spoke fidgeting her fingers.

He sighed hearing her response and gestured her to walk back towards the table when she abruptly stopped and turned around facing him, taking a long sigh she finally spoke looking deep into his amber grey eyes "Though I've divorced him but the reason was not extra marital affair or because of money or because he's a drunkard or drug addict.

The reason was actually domestic violence. He married me for breaking me mentally to make my father suffer but eventually things turned and we both agreed on peaceful separation. Even when I was walking away from my lawyer's office, he came to me and asked for forgiveness though I denied it because he doesn't deserve it. But still a man like him so rich and powerful, why would he take care of his enemy's family and most importantly, he still asks about my whereabouts from my mum.

If he wanted then it wasn't a big deal for him to kidnap me and hold me as a hostage but he didn't do it. Because it would hurt me further and he didn't wanted that. So I don't wish be in any kind of relationship with you because I can't forget him nor I'll be able to do.

Maybe because he's my first love and love is often blind to not being able to differentiate between good and evil...",she sighed and was about to leave the venue when he offered to drop her home.

She nodded and sat inside his black Hyundai creta while he immediately pushed the key to the ignition, eventually pulling his car to the main road.

While he was driving, she was looking in and out of the window continuously while nibbling on her bottom lips nervously. There was an intense silence in the car that was eventually killing her.

Throughout the journey, she was sneaking a look at his face from time to time that had a neutral and stoic expression with no smile nor frown. It was like a statue was sitting inside the car and this thing started bothering her.

As she was about to step inside her apartment, he asked suddenly from behind making her abruptly turn around "Can I have a warm cup of coffee with you?", with a warm smile playing on his lips.

She couldn't help but smile, nodding her head in approval, "Ofcourse, step inside",she offered while unlocking her Apartment.

"Just sit there on the couch and I'll be right back with your coffee",she replied and quickly removing her overcoat and slingbag, she entered inside her kitchen.

While she was busy preparing coffee, she noticed her phone beep. Looking at the caller ID, she saw that it was a call from kavya. Swiping right on the screen, she placed it under her ears...

"Hi Aranya! How's your date?",she asked chirping on the other end of the call.

"Shut up! It wasn't a date",she huffed.

"Okay! Okay! I'll forget that you went out on a date with your friend and now you're trying to shut my mouth!",she replied chuckling.

"I said it wasn't a date!! It was just a friendly dinner, that's all",she snapped in frustration.

"And If you don't have anything else to say kavya than I'm going to hang up the phone",she said sighing while stirring the grounded coffee inside the warm milk.

"Fine! What're you doin'?"

"Nothing much! Just making coffee for me and Abhishek",she replied mixing sugar into the coffee.

"Hm...I see! Coffee for Abhishek...!! What's the matter, huh?",she taunted while letting out a hearty laugh.

"Why? Is there any problem in making coffee for my friend? Since You're not here so I've made someone else my friend",she instantly replied making kavya utterly speechless.

"Haha...very funny!! Okay! Jokes aside...Now, Listen Aranya! I understand that Abhi is your friend but inviting him at this hour when you're alone at...",Aranya immediately flinched hearing a loud crashing sound coming from the living room...

Without hanging up kavya's call, she immediately ran towards the room with her rapidly pounding heartbeat while clutching her phone tightly in her hands to see what had actually happened there when suddenly she felt a really heavy metallic object striking hard against her skull, from behind. Instantly an immense pain jolted through her whole body and then suddenly everything blacked out...
