My four-year-old starts school today and our four-month-old is starting to sleep through the night which is a very good thing. For all four of us.

"Mommy, I don't wanna go to school. I wanna stay here with you and Mason." Sara pouts at the breakfast table a stack of pancakes in front of her. Stevie's feeding Mason and I'm reading the paper. This has been our morning routine for a month now and it seems to be worse today because this is the day she's leaving us to go to school.

"Sweetheart I'm not staying home. Daddy's going to drop you off and bring Mason back home. I'm going to a meeting. But I'll be right there to pick you up at three." Stevie explains as my ears perk up.

"Then I'll stay home with Daddy." Sara pouts.

"Baby, Sweetheart, Princess, you can't. Daddy has to work." I say sipping my coffee.

"Fine! But I don't like it." Sara crosses her arms. She has my attitude and temper.

"Sara Rhiannon, watch the attitude." My wife has just mastered the mom tone and look.

Sara immediately closes in on herself. Stevie rarely yells at her and when she does Sara shuts down.

Arriving at the school, I feel so out of place, especially carrying a four-month-old.

"This is it," I say stopping at the classroom of a Miss. Angeline Curtis.

"Good morning, I'm Miss. Curtis. What's your name?" She asks kneeling down to Sara's level.

"I'm Sara this is my daddy and brother," Sara says shyly.

"Well, it's nice to meet you, Sara. You go on in, I want to talk to your daddy for a minute." Miss. Curtis smiles.

"Alright sweet girl, Go have fun. Mommy will be here right at three okay. I love you." I squat down and give her a hug and kiss.

"I love you too daddy," Sara says cautiously walking into the classroom.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Buckingham. I'm Angeline Curtis." She smiles holding out her hand.

"Please call me Lindsey. This is Mason." I shake her hand.

"He looks so much like you." She coos.

"You think?" I ask taking her in.

She's got blonde curly hair and mesmerizing green eyes. She's wearing a sapphire dress and black high heels. She looks gorgeous. If I wasn't married she would be one that I'd go after.

"Well I haven't seen Mrs. Buckingham, I hope you don't mind me asking where she is. Normally I meet both parents on the morning of the first day." Angeline asks.

"No not at all, she had an early meeting, but she'll be here later." I smile.

"I see well, have a good day Lindsey." She smiles.

"You too Miss. Curtis." I reply

"Angeline, it's only fair." She waves/

Arriving at home, Stevie's gone, and I busy myself with the finishing touches on Tusk. Shortly after Mason was born we got two new vehicles. Stevie got an SUV and I got a Cadillac convertible. There's a back seat for the kids and that's what's important. Our Toyota was just old and not cutting it anymore.

I'm feeding Mason when she walks in at one forty-five.

"So, your meeting?" I ask

"Lindsey, I'm doing a solo album." She cheers.

"What?" I ask

"Yes, after we release Tusk I'm doing my own record. I have so many good songs. You said so yourself. They're finally going to be heard. I went and met with Jimmy Iovine. He produces Tom Petty and he's going to produce me. We have a meeting with Atlantic Records tomorrow at one, so you'll have to pick Sara up." Stevie says.

"Wait, wait...Jimmy Iovine is producing it." I ask.

"Yes." She nods.

"How come you didn't ask me?" I ask laying Mason in the baby swing.

"Lindsey, I want to keep my solo work separate from Fleetwood Mac. I'm not leaving the band, I just want a wall between Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac. You've produced the last two Mac albums. I'm sorry." She says.

"Stephanie, I'm your husband though," I yell.

"There you go again acting all possessive," Stevie spits.

"We've been married for six years and we have two children together. I think I have a right to be." I counteract.

"A right. I'm my own person. Look, I need to go pick Sara up. I'm not going to argue with you about this now." Stevie says grabbing her car keys and purse.

Arriving at Sara's school I'm angry. Lindsey has no right to dictate my life like that. In the hallway, Sara spots me right away and she runs to me.

"You must be Mrs. Buckingham. I'm Angeline Curtis Sara's teacher. Lindsey said you'd be coming." She smiles. Lindsey, she calls him Lindsey? My blood boils at how she said his name.

"Stephanie Buckingham, Lindsey did, did he?" I ask

"He did. Sara was lovely. I can't wait for tomorrow." Miss Curtis says. I want to claw her eyes. out.

"Me either. Mommy, I learned how to write my name. See!" Sara cheers handing me a piece of paper.

"I see that. Good job sweet girl. Well, we best get going. I'm making lasagna for dinner." I say

"Yay!" Sara cheers grabbing my hand and pulling me to the door.

The next night, I'm doing my nightly routine while Lindsey is lying in bed.

"I got the okay. To record. Tusk is released on your birthday. I fly to New York in November. I'll be home on weekends and holidays. I finish recording hopefully in May. Tusk tours June to October and my album will come out in August. I'll tour it from January to April." I explain.

"Wait...New York?" Lindsey asks.

"Yes, where Jimmy's studio is," I reply.

"New York is thousands of miles away. You are going to miss so much of the kids' lives." He states.

"I'll still be here. Weekends and Holidays, I told you that." I state placing my brush down and going over to the bed where he stands up and grabs his bathrobe.

"Lindsey?" I ask

"I'll see you tomorrow." He walks out and the guestroom door slams.

I don't sleep.
