《Christmas Wish (Completed)》Chapter 27

After spending time with Jack just us being embraced we shared some kisses and talked lightly before I left to go home. The night nurses waved at me when I passed the counter but never said a thing to me.
Now it is Christmas eve and I am making my way out of the doctors area where my new locker is. Dr. Marshall told us a few days ago to move to the locker area for Doctors on the floors we have choosen instead of using the main one at the main level where starting out we had to be for meeting up in groups.
Everyday Dr. Marshall comes by to check the progress of all my patients and will go over each case with me to make sure the right steps are being taken. He does it individually with all us interns now with us knowing the fields we are in with. Once the boards is over and passed he won't do this anymore as we will be on our own. A few of the interns are leaving after boards as they got offers at other hospitals they wanted.
Massie has been enjoying obstetrics and can go over for hours the things she does. We have spent more time together after our shifts and after I spend some time with the guys. Massie and I done our gift exchange yesterday and she got me a new set of scrubs that is fitting for working in pediatrics. She loved the little things I got her as well.
My nights I barely get four hours of sleep but it is worth it. Even though, I have been having to use some concealer on my under eyes with how dark they have been staying. After the boards, I do not want to party but just sleep.

Nicolas is doing amazing and may even be released a few days earlier which means it could discharged right before the first of the year. His numbers are almost there and I don't see him being here as a patient for another full week.
My heart starts to feel heavy every time I think about it but it is also a good thing. It is a battle within me on the good and sad parts.
Every night I read more of the Christmas story to Nicolas before he falls to sleep. I bought the Christmas story on a fast track when he asked me to read him a book the night I stayed late after my parents Christmas party. Jack tends to laugh at how fast Nicolas will go to sleep when I start reading.
My rounds go by smoothly and I get to discharge a few of the patients just in time for them to get home for Santa to come tonight. They had small cases of colds and needed monitoring with them having high fevers and being dehydrated, but now they are clear to go home.
"Morning Holly." Jewels smiles from the counter.
"Good morning, Jewels. How is the papers coming along to discharge rooms 703 and 707?"
"I got them right here for you to sign and then I will get the roll out finished up."
"Thanks Jewels." I take the papers and look them over to sign before handing them back.
"Mom and Dad have asked about you some." Jewels sighs.
"Well?" I ask looking up to her.
"They say the same thing everytime a huge test comes up for you just like it done for me. They ask how you are and if I know your studying or not." Jewels laughs.

"I never understood why they just don't call or text us to ask us personally instead of being little gossips when we have huge tests coming up. I have even tried to call but get the normal 'you need to study and we wish you luck'." I roll my eyes.
Jewels laughs having been through it with her state tests for nursing.
We get back to work on the papers and Jewels goes to discharge the first patient that I sign off on. I go through the second's paperwork and sign off, sliding it in between her laptop where it is closed down. That way she knows that patient is ready to go as well.
It is closer to lunch before I finally get to Nicolas's room. I knock and open the door.
"Holly!" Nicolas smiles.
"Hey little man. How are you feeling today?" I walk over to him and give him a hug that is now the must.
"Good. I am working on my letter for Santa." He smiles.
"I thought you done that one up a few days ago." I laugh.
"No, I made my Christmas wishes but I haven't wrote one to Santa yet. They are two different things and people." Nicolas explains.
"Oh, okay." I smile.
I know that Santa isn't true but I hold it up for the children that still believe. As for Christmas wishes I have always thought those are the best and even better when they come true.
Going over his vitals and putting it into the chart. Jack walks and stands in front of the rolling tray I am currently using to hold my computer.
"Yes?" I smile to him with him staring at me.
Nicolas beems over to us and is smiling just as cheesy as Jack is.
"What are you two up too?" I ask once more.
"Would you like to have dinner with us tonight? I am ordering from a restuarant just a small ways from the hospital that will deliver the food." Jack smiles.
"I would love too." I smile at him.
"Yay! Then we can watch Rudolph together." Nicolas exclaims.
"That is different from your normal show little man." I laugh.
"It is Christmas tomorrow so it fits to watch it." He laughs.
Lunch is brought in for Nicolas and Jack's ordered small tray with it. That is the one thing around the holidays the hospital tries to send food for parents, wish they would just do it all year round for them but it is rare.
The rest of the work day goes by quickly and I dash into the doctors area and change out of my scrubs. Grabbing my purse and keys, I make a fast dash as if I am Santa out to my car. This morning I put their gifts into my car for just incase something happened and I couldn't get home to grab them before tomorrow.
They still have no clue that I even have gifts for them and Nicolas has never even asked me about it. He seems the happiest when I just spend time with him. With Jack being the same, but I can't wait to see their faces when they know I have things for them and then to see when they open them up.
I feel like the little kid on Christmas morning.

This must be in the hidden gems collection " -3ndlesslove"This was, by far, the best one I've read. It just resonated with me when it came to Noah's POV. It wasn't something that just magically came together. It took time and effort for them to get to where they are, and I respect that. It taught me more about how to look at things so thanks a lot for making this book. I meant a lot to me. I will definitely read the sequel and your other books" - Generik_Jay
