"Clarke." I feel Roan shake my arm waking me "Time to go." I look around the room waiting for my eyes to adjust to the sun coming in through the window. There is the faint smell of dried animal meat that makes my stomach growl. I run my fingers over my cheeks feeling the coarse dried tears. I wish my dreams of Bellamy were no longer just dreams. I wish I wasn't met with coldness whenever I turn to the left side of the bed. I wet my hand with saliva then run it over my cheeks wiping away the evidence of any mourning. I move the blanket to the side getting out of bed. Roan is already outside the bedroom door talking softly to the shopkeeper.
I let my feet dangle off the bed with my hair hanging down over my shoulders.
"What are you thinking about?" He moves my hair over to kiss my shoulder.
"It's more of what am I not thinking about." I lean back into his body instantly feeling at peace. "Everything is going to be okay Clarke. I promise." he moves back to his spot before lightly pulling me back with him. "Now come back to bed please."
"Clarke." I look up to Roan who nods towards the outdoors "time to go."
"According to my sources, Ares is a nomad so he's constantly moving. It's hard to pin this guy down." He pulls his hood down lower turning his back to the group of men passing by us. "But lucky for us he's not that afraid to be out in the open considering not many people know what he looks like." He nods to a figure leaving what looks like a pub. It's him. My breath catches in my throat.

"Clarke."
"Let's go." He gives me a brief look then walks ahead of me leading the way.
"Clarke, why are you doing this?"
"What do you mean why am I doing this? I'm doing this for you for us."
"No. You're doing this for you. This is not going to bring me back."
"I know that Bellamy! I just..."
"You just what!"
"I can't stand the thought that he's alive and you're not okay! Besides, it's my fault you're dead."
"Clarke."
"Clarke."
Roan holds up his hand signaling me to stop. Something's wrong no one in their right mind would be this exposed, especially someone like him. He knows we're following him, I know he does. Roan looks to me with the same expression. "Could be a trap, but it's your call."
I'm so close. Even if this is a trap this is the closest I think I'll ever be to him. I can't turn back now. I want this too much, besides it's for Bellamy of all people. Then again even if he does kill me I don't think It'd be the worst thing. "He killed Bellamy. I'm not turning back now."
"Normally I don't like being the voice of reason but...this isn't going to bring him back you know."
"I'm well aware now are going to help me or not." I pull out my gun causing Roan to move it away with his hand. "No guns. This is still Ice Nation we can't have proof Skaikru was here."
"Fair enough." I pull out my knife from my boot. "He deserves to suffer anyway."
"I'm not dying for you."
"I'm not asking you to. If you wanna go then go, I won't beg you to stay."
He looks over the bush letting out a sigh "If we do this we're doing it my way understand."

"Fine." I put my gun under loose leaves and shrubs.
"You know for the commander of death...I expected more from you." He gives me a devious smirk then turns towards Roan's hiding spot. "and Roan...I'm disappointed honestly getting caught up in married couples' affairs...and skaikru too of all people. Your mother must be so proud." I don't wait for Roan shoving Ares up against the nearest tree with my knife pressed against the side of his throat.
"Okay. Okay. Look I know why you're here and I can help." Roan comes to assist me grabbing onto one of his stray arms. "Let's talk yeah."
"How about we skip the talking and go straight to me letting you die a slow painful death."
"I think I'd prefer the talking."
"and I think you should shut up about now before I make you by cutting that annoying tongue of yours out."
"Wow. You're intense, but I like it." He licks his lips then looks to Roan then me "I know you think I killed your husband but..."
"Think! I know you killed Bellamy okay! I was there I saw it happen!"
He clicks his tongue then cracks another smile "Are you sure you saw what you saw? I just hope for his sake you didn't bury him." He breaks his humorous facade to form his mouth into a thin line "being buried alive is a horrible way to die."
I can feel my heart sink down to my stomach as I press the knife harder against his skin drawing blood. His smile reappears slightly as he tries to move his neck away from my knife. "shut up." Roan looks to me "what are you waiting for." Ares looks to Roan then back to me. "You wouldn't kill an innocent man would you Whanhada."
"He's lying Clarke he's just trying to save his ass."
"I'm not I swear! I didn't kill your husband."
"He's lying. I know ice nation we don't leave anyone alive especially our targets."
"I wasn't hired to kill him." My grip on the blade tightens more as I feel a sob rip through my body. "Shut up both of you!" He's dead I know he's dead I saw him die. I see him die every night. Roan's right he's lying. I want to push the blade deeper into his skin but my arm goes limp. Ares lets out a sharp breath as I back away from him. "Clarke. Clarke what are you doing?!" Roan wraps his hand around Ares's throat throwing him back up against the tree. I look between the two of them, my body feels heavy and I'm trying to breathe. Roan and I meet glances right as the sun hits Ares's leg making a shard of metal known. I shake my had giving a scoff "let him go." Roan follows my eyes down to the knife lightly tucked away in Ares's boot. I knew it was too easy, he could've killed us both easily. Which means only one thing, he wasn't lying. I take a deep breath and move in close.
"Where. Is. Bellamy."

The Doormat Villainess – Adrianne
A villainess is a character who has always been diametrically opposed to the heroine of a romance drama. What makes a person a good villainess? The fact that she's unabashedly beautiful and charismatic, yet also rotten inside? The fact that she's incredibly loathsome, greedy, and selfish? That she's reasonably strong enough to be a hurdle, yet ultimately powerless in the face of a determined heroine? That despite all these character flaws, a Villainess's greatest virtue is unwilling to give up until the last of their breath, in pursuit of her personal desire? If those are the hallmark of a successful Villainess. Then, I might be the wrong person to play that role. Also on Scribblehub (Profile)
