《May We Meet Again: Book 3》Wanheda

"If you wanna find Ares you're going to need to keep up." Roan looks back at me as I quickly maneuver my way down this steep hill. "I can keep up just fine." I jump the rest of the way down landing gracefully on my feet.

He just looks at me seeming unconvinced. "You're bleeding." he looks down at my arm that has started to get sticky from the blood. I've been too preoccupied to notice that my wound has started to bleed again. The blood soaked through both the bandage and the sleeve of my shirt. I unravel the bandage revealing a long deep gash. Roan glances at it briefly then back up at me. "Someone actually injured Wanheda herself, and here I thought you were untouchable." He reaches back into one of his pouches then hands me a strip of fabric. "Obviously I have to know who did that."

I look up at him briefly then back down at my arm. "Ares." His face goes from slightly amused to serious "so you've fought him before." I start to wrap up my arm trying to ignore the burning pain. "I was there when he killed Bellamy... I know what he's capable of." I hold one end of the bandage in my teeth and the other with my hand tying it off.

"Why'd he let you live?" I wish I could answer that question since i've been asking myself the same thing ever since it happened. He had the chance to kill me. He had the knife to my throat...yet he let me go. I look down at my feet speaking softly "I don't know."

I feel myself tear up as the shiny piece of metal on my finger lights up from the sun. I don't know why I lived that day. I don't even know why he attacked in the first place. All I know is that my husbands dead...Bellamy's dead and i'm not stopping till Ares pays for what he did.

Roan looks to the way we're headed then back at me. He almost has the look of pity for me. I know deep down he really does care. He proved that when we were in that cave. "Come on let's go." He waits for me to start walking before he does so himself.

"I know a few places where he might be, the first isn't far just over that hill." he points to the hill a few miles ahead of us. I nod looking to him "then we shouldn't waste any time." He gives a slight nod of agreement then waves his hand towards where we're headed "after you."
