Kenzie POV

"Alright little Luna, I need you to take care of the ones who can't fight. Keep the pups calm... just be the amazing Luna I know you are. Don't leave the safe room. Someone who knows the code will get you when this is all over so don't. open. the door. Am I understood?" Brenton tells me for the 13th?... no 14th time this morning.

We are meant to go into the safe room in about a half an hour then the warriors will make it look like they are going to attack the vampires. If Logan and Maddox did their part well and the vamps believed them than they will attack. Our friendly vampires are hidden and will defend as the wolves return. If all goes to plan the bad guys will be outnumbered 3 to 1 and we'll take them all out.

"Please pup? You know the children could use a strong Delta to protect them in case they break into the safe room." I hear Maddox say and see Logan turn to face him with a growl.

"Stop trying to manipulate me into cowering in the safe room like a weak little..." I clear my throat and Logan looks at me. "Sorry... I just mean I'm a warrior. I'm not sitting this out because my mate is being overly protective. I can handle myself."

"What if you slip? You don't have control over that yet. If you slip because you get hurt in the fight puppy Logan won't do you much good. Please?" Maddox begs.

"No Maddie. I got this. I am in control of myself. I promise." Logan assures him and he sighs.

"Fine... but if you die I'm gonna bring you back just to punish you." Ligan laughs at that.

"Sure thing big guy." He says before walking away.

Logan does seem happier even if they argue more than they agree.

"Alright, anyone who isn't fighting needs to get in the safe room now." I announce and make my way there setting up some snacks and checking to make sure we have blankets and cots ready in case we are in here for a while.

"Is everything set?" Brenton asks me as the last of the non warriors settle into the room.

"We're good... but hurry back. It's boring in here." I say and he chuckles kissing my forehead.

"Yes, Luna."

Boring

Usually I get into some kind of mischief when I'm bored but there's nothing to get into... and I need to stay in Luna mode.

"Why don't we play a game?" I ask the pups who have been whining for the last, I don't know, 20 minutes about being bored. Well join the club! "Come on duck duck goose. There's enough room over here if we move some stuff around." This is gonna be a long day.

Gilly pitched a fit when I had to leave. She's usually a very good girl but she didn't want her daddy leaving and let me know about it.

It breaks my heart to leave her when she was so upset but I need to be in this fight. These are the people who hurt my mate. I can't let them live.

"I think we've gone far enough." Brenton says and we all stop before turning to watch the sky for the vampire's signal.

Once the attack starts someone will fire a flare and we can come running. Half of us circling around so the attackers can't escape. I'm leading that group with my brother and his mate while Bren and Eddy charge right back.

"Come on, let's split into our groups." I say and the warriors begin to split up.

As if the universe was watching the second we have formed our groups a light soars through the sky from the direction of our pack and we take off running.

The vampires were doing well fighting the enemy. My baby girl's parents chose their friends wisely. I kinda expected some of them to turn on us but I guess some vampires are actually good people.

Once we joined the fight the enemy had no chance. A few people were injured but no one died... at least on our side. Bodies litter the ground but I can't find within myself any remorse over that. My girl is safe. We're all safe.

I make my way to the safe room excited to see my baby batty.

"It's over." I announce to the room and everyone jumps up to leave. They've been down here all day.

"Daddy!" My baby girl yells hugging me. She starts to ramble to the point her bat side influences her speech and half of the words are chirps. I chuckle at her excitement.

"Everyone looks good, little bat. I'm proud of you." I tell her and she grins.

"Can we go home?" She asks and I nod.

"Of course baby."

"It's finally over." Landon sighs.

"I'm happy to have joined you, Alpha." Maddox says before pulling Logan onto his lap. "And not just because of this pup... it's like a family and now we are all safe."

"I think we can finally live at peace." I agree only to hear a crashing sound from the other room.

"Daddy!"

"Mommy!"

"Kenzie stole my Lightning McQueen cup!"

"Did not! I'm borrowin' it! Sharing is caring."

They both start yelling back and forth to where you can't make out an individual sentence.

"I'll go ask Gilly what's going on." Landy says as he stands.

"I'll get Eddy." Kelly joins him and I stand with a chuckle to deal with my little bat.

Maybe not exactly peaceful... but I wouldn't change a thing.
