Storming away, I heard the car door slam before looking back. As I did, I saw Joey's tall figure out of his car and making his way over to me.
"Come here." He spoke aggressively and I stayed exactly where I was.
"I said come here, Montana." He spoke sternly as I rolled my eyes and reluctantly walked over to him.
"What?" I asked, looking up at him.
Saying nothing he looked into my eyes before I looked down, not able to contain his gaze without tears brewing in my eyelids.
"Whatchu got an attitude for?"
"I don't have an attitude." I lied, folding my arms into my chest.
"Then what's up with all this crazy shit? You're saying fuck me for what?"
"Because you're sitting there choosing that random girl over me." I snapped unwillingly as he looked into my eyes before I looked away again.
"Whatchu jealous now?" He grabbed my face and I looked at him, flaring my nostrils.
Turning on my heels again, I started to walk away before he grabbed me, pulling me back to him.
"Look. Drop the fucking attitude, Montana. Ain't nobody choosing that damn girl over you. I said we'll talk when I drop her off."
"Aight?" He raised his eyebrows, looking down at me.
"No. She can walk." I rolled my neck and a smirk slowly crept onto his face.
Before I knew it, he was full blown laughing. He was laughing as if it was the funniest thing he'd ever heard.
"Stop. I'm not laughing." I nudged him seriously as he looked down at me with a smile once his laughter died down.
"You're really jealous." He spoke amusingly.
I mean of course I was, nine years and now he was booed up with someone else as if she was there for him all this time.
"She's an old friend of mine." He explained and I shrugged.
I didn't give a damn who she was. I'd never met her so she wasn't his friend nor was she relevant.
"Let me just take the girl back to her aunt's house and then when I get back we can talk. You ain't got shit to be jealous for."

"No." I spoke in an overly spoiled manner.
"Aight. How about you go and tell her why she has to walk home with heels on then, Montana." He spoke sarcastically, pointing towards his car and I happily made my way over to it.
"Montana." He laughed but I don't know if he thought I wouldn't but I was dead serious.
"Aight. Chill. Chill." He caught up to me, grabbing me by my waist while he laughed.
"Just get in the car so when I drop her off we can go back to yo' place and talk." He shook his head while I nodded.
"Fine."
Letting me walk ahead of him, he followed close behind as we made our way back towards the large crowd.
Everybody was in their own worlds now but Teesh was still there waiting.
"Joey and I are going to talk so I'll see you later, okay?"
"Alright, boo. Call me after and tell me how it goes." She raised an eyebrow and I nodded.
"Montana." Joey called me as he was about to get in the car then Teesh and I hugged before we broke away.
Making my way over to the car, I stood there as he was about to get in. He stopped and looked at me as I simply stood there with my eyebrows raised. A small smirk crept onto his face once he realized why I hadn't gotten in yet.
"For real? You gon' act this spoiled?" He asked me, obviously trying to get me to reason but he already knew that I wouldn't. He knew exactly what time it was.
Folding my arms across my chest, he sighed deeply as he ducked his head into the car. I couldn't hear what was being said but soon after "Izzy" was getting out of the front seat and into the back.
All the guys on the corner and Teesh instigated the entire thing as they laughed and joked. A petty smile then formed onto my face as I tooted my lips.
"Get in the car, Montana."
"Making shit harder for no reason." He mumbled, shaking his head and I finally did as told.

Pulling off, he blasted his music and "Izzy" sat quietly in the backseat, scrolling her phone.
It didn't take us long to get to her aunt's house, once we did, Joey got out with her.
"I'll be right back."
"Why?" I asked confused, she was a big girl, she'd be fine by herself.
"Montana." He sighed deeply.
"Fine." I sneakily rolled my eyes, pulling my phone out.

"Was that the girl you were in love with?" Izzy asked me and I simply nodded as I walked her into the house.
"Puedes hacerlo mejor." She scoffed.
"Nah. She's perfect." I shrugged, not going to let her disrespect Monty. I'd already let a female get away with something like that before but I wouldn't do it again.
I know Monty and I weren't on the best terms right now and she didn't give the best first impression but regardless, I couldn't let just anything be said about her. She was still my heart.
"She's a really good girl. We just had a fucked up situation."
"I feel like if y'all got to know each other, y'all would like each other." I shrugged.
"Hm." She tooted her lips up.
"Well to me, she seems jealous of me and insecure about her looks."
"Jealous? Maybe. Insecure? Nah." I shook my head.
She had no reason to be.
"You're doing a lot of defending for a girl who put you through so much, Joey." She laughed, putting her hand on my shoulder.
"We put each other through shit, it wasn't just her." I clarified.
"But that don't mean I love her ass any less. That's nine years, shit don't just go away. We both just moved on." I shrugged.
"So are you actually ready to move on or you want to be with that childish, perra fea."
"Man, it was nice seeing you, Izzy." I scoffed, shaking my head.
I then walked out of the house and made my way back to my car. Izzy was still a beautiful girl and I was glad I got to see her again but she just wasn't for me. The girl that was for me was sitting in my car, watching my every move as I came down the steps.
"All that jealous shit, you can calm it down because I ain't never gave you a reason to be jealous." I spoke as I got into the car, leaning my chair back.
"You had that nigga on your arm and I let you be but you're mad at me for chilling with a childhood friend?" I asked her as she sat in the passenger seat with a look on her face.
"I was only doing that to make you jealous."
"For what? So I could beat that nigga's ass then you be mad at me like I'm such a bad person?"
"That's the shit I be talking about, Monty." I shook my head, starting the car.
We still weren't all good but I would never discuss our situation or curse her out in front of Izzy. That's why I waited to do this now.
"I just wanted you to fight for me, Joey." She explained and I scoffed.
"As if I didn't fight for you." I mumbled, pulling off.
"We gon' talk though." I nodded my head, just trying to get to her house as quick as possible so I could air her out like I wanted to.
"Well you did fight for me, Joey but you stopped once yo-" She stopped, turning her face up.
"What's wrong?" I asked, looking over to her then back at the road as she breathed heavily.
"I don't kno-" Before she could even finish her sentence, she was leaning out of the window, throwing up.
Oh shit. I thought.
"You good?" I asked, already knowing the possibilities. Secretly hoping for it to be what I wanted it to be.
"Yeah. I just want to go back to my house now."
"Please." She pleaded.
"Aight."
