"Are you ready?" Dr. Dean asked.

"Yes, I'm ready." Y/N answered, smiling.

Scarlett was sitting on the bed, her legs crossed. Rose and Olivia are on her lap; all of them are excited and nervous.

This will be it, Dr. Dean will remove the bandage. It's for the stitches to have some air, it will help with the recovery. Also, they will know if Y/N can really see now.

"You got this, mommy!" Olivia said, cheering for her mom.

"Thank you, sweetheart." Y/N said, smiling. She's nervous, super nervous, but she's also excited.

"Okay, I'm gonna remove the bandage now." Dr. Dean said, smiling.

Then Dr. Dean starts unwrapping the bandage off, slowly and gently.

Scarlett's biting her bottom lip.

Y/N kept her eyes closed when the final layer of the bandage was removed, she's waiting for herself to adjust. It definitely feels weird but that's how she knows the surgery really went well.

The lights were dimmed, so Y/N wouldn't get overwhelmed. They need to take this recovery with baby steps, and to also avoid possible infection.

"Okay Y/N, when you're ready, try opening your eyes, and do it slowly." Dr. Dean said.

"You got this, my love." Scarlett said.

Y/N nodded her head, and tried to open her eyes. Once she did, she couldn't help but to close them again. A pain went through her head and she knows it's because of the light. The room may be dimmed, but she's been blind for years, she's not used to any sort of light.

"I'm fine," Y/N said, taking deep breaths, "This is normal."

Dr. Dean smiles, "Yes, you're absolutely right. Just keep trying."

"My mommy is a doctor! She knows things!" Olivia said, giggling.

Y/N chuckled softly, then she took a deep breath and tried again. She opens and closes her eyes couple of times, letting her brain get familiar with the light. She's thankful that she was a doctor, she knows how to handle this situation. She knows what to do and not do.

Finally, Y/N can steady her eyes and keep them open. Her heart is beating so fast, she can see again. It's still a bit blurry because the room is dimmed, but she definitely got her eyesight back.

"That's it, good," Dr. Dean said, "I'm gonna open the blinds so you can see us better, you ready?" He asked.

"Yes." Y/N answered.

Dr. Dean opened the blinds a little bit, just enough for the room to have some light. "Great, can you look at me?" He asked.

Y/N turned her head and looked at Dr. Dean, she almost gasped, seeing her mentor. He looked older, considering it's been so many years.

She can see.

Dr. Dean can already tell Y/N can see again, the emotions in her eyes confirmed it. He smiles and nodded his head, "I'll let you adjust some more, I'll be back later on. I'm happy for you, Y/N." He said and gently patted Y/N's shoulder.

"T-Thank you, Dr. Dean." Y/N said.

Dr. Dean smiles and walked away.

"Mommy?" Olivia spoke.

Y/N's heart thumped. She turned her head and her heart was filled with happiness. She looked at all of them, her favorite girls.

"Mommy, it's me, Olivia..." Olivia spoke again.

Y/N's heart melted. "Olivia..."

"Mommy!" Olivia couldn't help but cry, and she immediately went to her mom. Sitting on her lap and hugging her tight. "Mommy can see!"

Y/N pulled away from the hug and cupped her daughter's face, and she stares at Olivia. "Oh, my Olivia. You're so beautiful." She said, she didn't want to cry because it might cause an irritation, but she couldn't help it.

Y/N knew it, her daughter is beautiful.

"It's so good to see you, my Livie." Y/N said, caressing her daughter's cheeks. "Mommy's so happy to see you." She said, smiling.

Olivia pouted, crying too. "I'm happy, mommy."

"I love you." Y/N said to her daughter.

"I love you, my mommy." Olivia said, and kissed her mom's lips.

Y/N then looked at Scarlett and Rose. And when her eyes met Scarlett's, her heart starts beating wild, she smiles.

God, Scarlett is gorgeous. Y/N thought.

Scarlett was crying, she's happy.

Rose went to Y/N, "Hello, Mama Bear."

Y/N looked away from Scarlett and looked at Rose, she smiles. "Hey, sweetheart." She said, also sitting Rose on her lap. "You're so beautiful."

Rose smiles, "Thank you, Mama Bear. I'm so happy that you can see us now!" She said.

"I am too, sweetheart." Y/N said, and kissed Rose's head.

Then Y/N looked at Scarlett again, she smiles at her beautiful girlfriend. "Hey, my beautiful angel."

Scarlett blushed, she chuckled and wiped her tears. She moved closer to her family, "Hey, my moon."

"You are ethereal, Scarlett." Y/N said, admiring her girlfriend's face. "Ethereal."

Scarlett smiles, "I love you."

Y/N looked between Scarlett's eyes, her heart is just so happy. "I love you, I love you so much."

"I'm excited for you to see the world, my love." Scarlett said with a gentle smile.

Y/N looked at their kids, smiling at them and then looked back at Scarlett. "I'm already looking at it." She said.

Nothing can compare to her family, these girls are her entire world. And she's ready to face everything because she knows that she's got this family that will always be there for her, no matter what.
