World of death

Going down

World of lost

World of found

We are all slaves to the night. In our life, we walk our journey, each carrying a heavy burden of pain, longing for the night to fall when we can finally be free. We waste away with our demons until the darkness comes and we can take off the mask we wear and stop pretending. Only then can we be our true selves. Shari thought this as the rain pummelled down, washing away the guilt and regret that stained the small Virginian town. She stood by the window, watching the trees through the ceaseless drops of rain, sliding miserably down the glass. Shari could hear the screams from the next room, the bellows of the Entity's protests exploding throughout the house.

She followed the voices, entering the room. Diana was sprawled on the bed, held down by chains. Sweat was radiating from her, damp and bloody, her hair in clumps and cuts and bruises were stained over her body. The Entity's eyes met Shari and glared.

"It's not giving up." Justin said with a sigh.

"We'll get It out of her." Jenny promised. "We have to, for Conrad and Sadie."

Shari smiled, feeling a connection between them both: they had both lost a sibling to this monster.

"Whatcha gonna do?" The Entity spoke, using Diana's body as nothing but a puppet vessel. It laughed deeply, her body shaking and wriggling about on the bed.

"We're going to destroy you, that's what we're going to do." Jenny retorted, flicking another few drops of holy water at Diana.

The entity screamed out again, a deep roar of agony erupting from within her, her voice distorted and warped.

Shari didn't realise she was trembling, her body vibrating, fuelled with the fear of finally confronting her twin's killer in flesh.

Of course it was the body of Diana Jet, but she had never looked like this. She looked malnourished, beaten and deformed, bones aching through her decaying skin, screaming for merciful release.

Diana lurched up, her back arching and cracking into a shape impossible for any human to morph into. She threw her head back, her mouth folding open, releasing a scatter of spiders, escaping all over her body. Diana laughed as the bugs exploded from her mouth, maggots and flies rushing from her open lips.

Shari backed towards the door, disgusted and feeling nauseous. Justin sprayed a flurry of holy water on the bugs, evaporating them into thin air. This seemed to anger the spirit for it stopped laughing and gritted their teeth, rage building up. Then, it let out an eruption of rage, screaming in rage, flies erupting from her throat. The scream sent a sound wave ripple through the air, throwing the three of them back. Shari soared through into the corridor, hitting the opposite wall hard. Jenny and Justin were sent smashing through the wall, landing hard on the floor, covered in wall plaster.

Shari pulled herself up, using the wall to help her gain her standing. The chains exploded from around Diana, falling to bits on the floor. The human shell that Diana had stood, her thin legs stretching and bending in a spider-like manner.

Her eyes sliced into Shari's, but she remained in the doorway, blocking her exit.

She didn't say anything else. Instead, she hurled herself backwards and slid out of the window and into the night.

Gia could hear him talking, muttering away to himself. She kept her eyes closed, she didn't want him to be aware of her consciousness - maybe it would buy her some time. From the familiar hollow and echoing feel, Gia presumed she was in the church, and by the feel of the floor, she was correct.

"Will I be rewarded? I wonder. No. Yes. Wait, will I? Damnit!"

Gia opened her eyes slightly, looking for anything that could be used as a weapon, but found no luck.

The doors opened and footsteps echoed into the church.

"My faithful friend." Diana's voice sounded out.

Of course, Gia knew it wasn't her. She was possessed by the Entity.

"I have her. Hopefully, through using her as hostage, we can try to finish off the little Davenport girl."

Gia got to her feet swiftly, clenching her fists tightly. "You're not touching my daughter. Do you really think anyone would allow me to be a catalyst in my own daughter's death?"

"So brave. So young and pretty." The entity observed.

"You're the leader of this pathetic cult. Who are you - Mr Chilton, right?" Gia said, anger stirring within her.

Diana laughed lightly. "You read the books, I suppose? I'm Miss Chilton, not Mr Chilton. Mr Chilton was just a decoy for people wanting to discover my actual identity... What? Shocked that a female was ever this powerful to create a movement like this?"

Gia shrugged. "I don't give a shit what gender you are. Why don't you just find any other body and use that!"

"Oh I'd happily stay in this Diana girl's body if I could. But her mind is too strong, it's trying to reject me. A child's mind however, is weak and innocent. I can easily have her body for the taking."

Gia had to hold herself back, forcing her feet to stay in place.

"I'm going to have your daughter's body. And then I'll carry on my movement. Gaining the trust of a child will have it's advantage if I'm an actual child."

"You're sick."

"Maybe. But aren't we all?"

Then events from this moment flew past in a blur. One moment Gia was stood, fists clenched and the next, she was on the floor, Diana hissing down on her, clawing and scratching. She felt blood on the back of her head - she must have hit it when she fell back. Her vision clouded and when she opened her eyes, Diana was stood, facing away from her.

The next moment, a gunshot exploded into the air and the sound of shattered glass erupted across the church. Diana had her arms wide, screaming at an immense enthusiasm. The force of her scream exploded every glass window, sending shards of glass raining over the floor.

And then she saw Scott, holding the shotgun.

Tobias Loren kicked his vehicle into motion, Logan sat in the passenger seat.

"I can't believe they were thrown through the wall." Tobias cried, turning the corner from Secular Woods.

Logan nodded. "You better believe it. This is happening."

"It just doesn't seem real." Tobias replied. "We don't seem real."

Logan kept his eyes at his window, letting the morning summer breeze wash in. Neither of them had slept.

"Have you ever been with a boy before?" Tobias asked.

"I can't say I have." He replied, with a simple shrug. "It was just a kiss."

Tobias didn't reply, instead just remaining in silence as he drove forward on the road.

Not too far in front, was Shari's truck, which held Shari herself, Justin and Jenny Cooper.

"Remind me," Logan spoke. "what's the plan?"

"Diana is possessed. She, with the help of that psycho guy Terrence Pearce, they have Gia held hostage. We're going to finish this." Tobias explained, speeding up the vehicle.

The sun seemed to disappear behind the clouds, the hot sun declining fast behind the dark weather.

"What's happening?" Tobias muttered as Shari's truck disappeared around the corner and out of sight.

At that moment, a figure flickered into sight, materialising in the middle of the road and in front of the car.

Tobias slammed the breaks, the car skidding and clipping on a bolder at the side of the road. The vehicle flipped, turning over and rolling across the concrete. Coming to a halt, the car landed upside down, smoke bellowing out of the engine.
