Oh me gezzzzzz is sooooooo hot…. It was like 10:30 on a super, sunny Saturday in the middle of October.
I had on my favorite over-sized black hoodie (hood up), and my pink and purple hello kitty head phones around my neck, and my black skinny jeans with white and black Higtops that me, and my brother drew dinosaurs on (their my favorite) ummm my hair: its short in the back, and longer in the front I have a part of my colored purple, and the rest is black I normally spike it in the back.
I jumped out of the moving van that was parked in front of the new house that we are currently calling home for now…. It was a red-ish brown color house with tan bricks that came halfway up the front porch. It had a big fence-less front yard with over grown grass. It had one of those weird walk ways that remind you of something out of a horror movie ( the ones where the characters walk up to their own graves) the house looked big , it was the biggest house on the street that (I could see as we were driving up to it)
My brother, who was in one of my old jackets (that I don’t wear anymore), and pink skinny jeans and blue sneakers that are uncles old shoes (most of his cloths are packed up) his hair is short with long bangs to cover his eyes (like a bright green color that matches to the green highlights in his also black hair)
My uncle, who was in his usual attire: black slacks and a navy blue short-sleeve polo shirt, and boring brown shoes. He wore a golfing-type hat that his short brown hair stuck out on the sides, and plaid socked hat go up passed his ankles. His muddy-brown eyes that looked like they haven’t had a wink of sleep in weeks.

“Well boys? What do yea think?” my uncle said to us as he put his hands on his hips.
I stood there thinking to myself how nice it sounded to just get back in the that truck and drive the three days back to the old house, that I had only a few weeks to get to know before we packed up and drove all the way here in a the small town they call: Grim-dale
“Well guys? Come on I know this is all-of-a-sudden but this is better for you guys I promise. Sprat? Jake? Helloooo boys?” He waved his hand in front of Jake (who was staring blank at the house) then in front of me. I didn’t notice I was staring down at my shoe lace that came un-done
Just as I was about to reach down, and tie it, he beat me to it “Guys come on you will see its better this way. You just need to see the brighter side of it. I had to get you guys out of the city. I’m sorry it’s all-of-a-sudden. Jake you can make new friends, Sprat can make friends. You know like it used to be life will go on, and stuff…” he rambled on while he finished tying my shoe for me.
“So guys ready to start un-packing?” he said clamping his hands together, and giving us one of those smiles that there trying to convince themselves more than convincing you
Me, and Jake stood there staring blankly at him. He grabbed my arm, and I reached around, and grabbed jakes hand without looking (as if I was telling him that if I’m going into hell so are you), and we three walked to the front door. Henrey pulled out the keys and unlocked the door and opened to what seemed a gate-way to our new lives or hell.

He swung the door open and the, cool air of the completely empty house teased us to go inside. Jake, and I stood just outside the house that tickled my bare checks with the cold air. My uncle slipped behind us, and guided us with a hand on our backs inside. It was dark; the only light that gave us view was a window that was on the same side as the door.
My uncle searched for the light switch that gave us a better viewing range of the house. The walls were a rusty orange (the color my uncle can’t stand) with oak wood floors it had a large brick fire place that was just a little off center to the door that I wanted to run right out off at that moment. The kitchen was large with a bar like look to it (and extended cabinets with tall bar stools) , off to the left were stairs that led upstairs and to the right there was a hallway that had led to 3 more rooms and the bathroom. Upstairs there was another bathroom and 3 small rooms and 1 larger room. The back yard was huge with nice kept grass and a large weeping willow tree. With a back porch that was bigger than the front.
I kind liked the way the back yard look more energy can flow through the house (and yes I like to notice the aura of things)
“Ok guys, just get the stuff that we need for the night out of the van. The moving company will be here tomorrow to help with the heavy shtufffff tomorrow.” my uncle said, looking around of the house.
Me and Jake looked at each other, and he bolted to the van, me trailing behind him. When we final reached the huge truck that was much bigger than us. I helped him up to open the back door to the giant truck
We probably looked like two of robbers trying to brake in to the back of a moving van, (I wish I could see how that look two very short, kids helping each other open a big door to a truck that was a hundred times our size)
“What do you think looks like we need?” Jake said looking around at the boxes that was marked “kitchen”
“just grab pillows and the sleeping bags.” I said dryly. I looked for my favorite hello kitty pillow with matching blanket. (I love hello kitty)
“OK.” Jake said grabbing the box that said “sleepin shtuffff”
We carried the items that we choose to present the house for the night.
Uncle Henrey looked at the stuff we chose and smiled “That’s good boys now go set it in the living room.” He ruffled my hair I was hiding under my hoodie. My uncle looked over at Jake and smiled, but Jake just walked right passed him without looking back
“He’s so shy sometimes.” He said looking puzzled and me. I just shrugged and walked pass to go see where Jake was putting the boxes at “tough crowed.” Henrey said letting a breath of air out.

Epoch: An NPC's Tale
Epoch is a slow-burn LitRPG/Gamelit novel that tells the story of Luke, later named Lucius—a natural inhabitant of the game-like realm of Elyssia where thousands upon thousands of detached, virtually unkillable entities known as the Players were suddenly introduced right after the dusk of the magnificent Age of Heroes. Shortly after the Players arrived, the balance of power in Elyssia instantly shifted. Kingdoms fell, wars were waged, alliances between races were made, and Lucius, after ten years of training in captivity, found himself being used as a pawn in a prophecy that he had no intention to fulfill. With aspirations and desires of his own, Lucius must find a way to cautiously adapt to the drastic changes in the very foundations of the realm after being sent 300 years into a future that was forever altered by the outcome of the war that his captors had lost and the Players won in a victory that resounded throughout the ages, all for a terrible price. Author's Note As an avid fan of the LitRPG genre myself, I wrote this novel with character progression, heavy Gamelit elements, and some degree of world-building in mind. If you like these, please feel free to give this novel a try. Oh, and the MC is also an NPC, in a sense. And wait, isn't this also an isekai story? Well, it's all a bit complicated to explain here. Maybe you should start reading now?
