Story is abandoned. There will be no more updates on it. Jarod is kind of a loser, as it goes with these stories. A tear in his reality pulls him into another world, where he gains the ability to devour spirits, the locus of magic within the world. This is far from my first foray into fiction, but it is my first time posting anything to royal road, and first time writing LitRPG. This is an exercise in putting things out there, and just writing. [Hiatus] One day a young boy awakened powers of raising the dead as his summons, and a shady group of researchers got a hold of him. They experimented on him in hopes of replicating his one of a kind powers but failed. Suffering through countless gruelling years he was rescued by Dr Grace who sent him to a special high school, but his troubles never ended there after hoping for a better future for himself. He was constantly reminded that the world back then is just as cruel as today and gives up. Not knowing what to do someone helps him redirect all those emotions towards the corrupt leaders who created such a society to exist. Forced to retreat, he escapes through a portal to another world. Having grown up and with a clear direction in mind, he slowly builds up his army defeating powerful monsters with nothing other than his wits as he navigates the difficult political climate of the world he is in and back home. Wherever he goes chaos follows as he slowly puts together the pieces of clues about the origin of the Awakening. They meet the other world's heroes, and our heroes are welcome back to Mianite learning that their home has grown as much as them. The Dianites have a new leader, to Tom's dismay. Mianite has given new light to new creatures - good or bad -, and Ianite has worked hard to restore peace, justice, and balance.Well there is mostly balance.Two kingdoms run head to head. One leaning more to the traditional side, and the other wanting a change.When the New Kingdom of Aura takes the heroes in, they have no choice but to ally themselves with the Kingdom's leaders, Faith and Liberty. They meet Oracles and Elves and learn that their own simplistic home isn't so simple. They also learn that the other Kingdom may have a more sinister plan, and that they may have an operative on the inside.
