BELLA'S POV:
As Alice and i went to my house, i saw a car i didn't recognise. I walked inside and to my surprise Renee was inside. Mom! I cried out, what are you doing here? I missed you so much!!
I just felt like coming to visit you and Phil has all his mates over to watch the great game so i thought i'd come and spend some time with my daughter! And whose your friend?
Oh yeah, sorry mum, this is Alice, and Alice, this is my mum. How do you do? Alice asked politely, smiling at my mum! Great!!! My mum said enthusiasticly, and she pulled Alice in for a hug. My, your cold Renee exclaimed! Alice laughed and said she always got cold. That reminded me, i couldn't go near my mum yet, i'd have to settle for a quick hug, then i would have to move my shoulders so it looked like i was breathing. I was finding it hard to remember everything Alice had told me to do. We then sat down at the table and talked for a good hour. As i cleared away the dishes, Alice came into the kitchen and gave me a peck on the cheek. Alice!!! Don't, my mom might see! She gave me a pout which she knew i couldn't resist. Alright alright she said. Listen Alice i said urgently, my mum is incredibly persptive. Its unreal how perseptive she can be, so she'll work it out and i will tell her, i just want to tell her myself. Alice agreed to tone it done and we spent the afternoon chatting.
Whilst Renee was quizzing Alice i zoned out a little. I couldn't believe that a battle was going to happen in only 2 days time! And here my mum was, me and Alice acting like we had all the time in the world. I snapped back into the conversation when i realised they were staring at me. She's always doing that Alice laughed and my mom laughed with her. I felt happy to be with my mom but i needed her to go, before the battle.

Then i saw Alice zone out and i knew she was having a vision. I quickly distacted my mum and then when Alice came back, she excused herself to go to the toilet where i knew she would make a phone call to alert her family. But the second Alice was upstairs my mom asked me a question i was not prepared for...

Recruit - An Infinite Labyrinth prequel
A prequel to The Infinite Labyrinth. The year is 1816. The British Empire is in full swing, under the auspices of King George III. The Infinite Labyrinth has been pouring out its product from beyond our reality and fostered a new industrial revolution. Times are changing, and the people of London are feeling the winds of the revolution while British Professionals push into the Labyrinth. The newly formed Artefact Hunting Company is looking for recruits, and they have new technology to help them. From the slums of London, they aim to recruit a new wave of Professionals. And make Zacharias and the Earl of Carnavon lots of money. So, for Rowan Rivers and a handful of lucky ones, it's time to head into the Labyrinth, and discover what makes it different from England. And what makes THEM different? Recruit is a bunch of chapters I wrote to create to the setting, mood, and game systems of the Infinite Labyrinth. It is NOT a complete story in the classic sense. It's more of a slice of life view of early days of a normal Professional from the Infinite Labyrinth, and it's heavy on info-dump. It's 90% canon - there's probably a bit of a difference between how some characters and common behaviour are portrayed here and how they'll come out in the main story. Set two years before the events that kick-start the main series, it features some of the secondary/peripheral characters of the Infinite Labyrinth and will tell you all about the basic mechanics of the Labyrinth's RPG system. It can be considered a spoiler, as the characters in the Infinite Labyrinth are going to need to figure out all that, on their own. But if you like a much deeper exposition in the mechanics, here it is. The entire prequel is about 80 pages long.

Note from author (13.09.20): Sentences have been shortened, less commata used. Paragraphs have been split up. Meant to be "realistic" fantasy, with no overpowered protagonist or evil sorcerer trying to destroy the world. The focus lies on the characters, their progressions and their inner conflicts, coupled with an intricate magic system. Constructive criticism is highly appreciated! HIATUS Updates: 12.12.20 Chapter 1 & 2 are written together. The backstory of the parents will be integrated into one of the later chapters. 20.12.20 Prologue has been rewritten, fight added. Will now continue writing the chapters until the first arch is finished. 19.01.21 Chapter 15 is written. Will hopefully be able to write more from now on, university has been kinda rough these days. 08.04.21 Chapter 16 & 17 has been written. Beginning will be rewritten (again) to start with chapter 3. Chapter 1 & 2 will be shown through reocurring dreams / nightmares. 10.08.21 Rewriting of the first arc is complete and has been proofread twice. Plot of rest of book one is 80% complete. Will publish chapters once first book is finished and proofread. 06.12.21 Second arc is finished (chapter 24/31-33). First draft will likely be finished around February, after which I will edit a few suggestions of my beta readers and publish it on RR.
