《in time ✱ j. jungkook》✱ chapter twelve

After talking it all out with Jungkook and Taehyung, everything went back to normal. Jungkook was back to challenging me in every single thing, resulting in me losing all the time. And I was still gawking at Taehyung every chance I could grab.
Nayoung has been going around with Hoseok, the guy from the party, a lot. She cancelled on our last two weekend all-nighters to hang out with him.
I was annoyed at first but quickly got over it. She's finally found a guy she genuinely likes and is happy with, so I should be happy with her.
I would be more annoyed if she lied to me and told me she was sick only to find out she was with Hoseok. That would suck.
But thank God she's not like that. She's a brutally honest person, so she'll get to the point.
Taehyung and I never mentioned the kiss again. The awkwardness that was lingering around us was now fully gone. We would lightly joke and talk like old times.
But for some reason, I felt like there was something odd going on. There was this weird feeling I couldn't shake off about him.
And I surely couldn't talk to him about it because that would definitely bring up the kiss again, and that was somewhere I did not want to go again.
There were still many unanswered questions I had about that night. But it seemed as if I was never going to get my answers.
I'll just shove it in the useless, no-good part in my brain where I store all of the things I've learned from math over the course of the years.
Yesterday we were given the task to do a project in World Studies with a group of four or five people.
Of course, it somehow ended up to be me, Nayoung, Taehyung, and Jungkook.
But we had one extra member.
Her name was Lee Jaeun.
Jaeun was the most popular girl in senior year, or the entire school to say the least. She had the looks. She had the body. She had the brains. She had everything.
Except her personality, that is.
She was a stuck up little bitch who thought she was queen of the world. If someone didn't do something for her, she would throw a fit.

Of course she would act innocent in front of adults and was really polite towards them, but all of the student body knew she was a wolf in sheep's clothing.
She had decided to join our group because of Jungkook.
One thing Jaeun has not been able to get with a snap of her fingers was Jungkook.
Everyone knew she had this thing for him, it was inevitable since the start of high school. They had an on and off thing going on for a bit of sophomore year, but Jungkook got tired of her and ended all ties with her.
But Jaeun could not have that.
We were all shocked when we heard that things between the hottest thing at our school, Jungkook and Jaeun, was officially over.
They were the talk of the school for weeks, maybe even a whole month.
The most popular girl and the most popular guy were done.
Most of the talks consisted of:
"They're done? Finally, I thought that this would never end."
"Just watch, they'll be sticking their tongues down each other's throats by the end of tomorrow."
"That's not going to last."
"Now I can finally tap Jaeun's ass!"
"Do you think Jungkook would consider me now that Jaeun is out of the picture?"
And you can probably imagine the rest.
And ever since then, Jaeun has not stopped trying to gain Jungkook's attention.
It was pretty sad, actually. She would throw herself at him or get a new guy every week to see if he would notice. But I don't think he does. Or cares.
But now that the teacher oh-so-graciously gave us up to five partners, Jaeun wasted no time to hop on over to our table.
"Jungkook! Do you guys already have five people?" She had asked ever so sweetly.
Nayoung fired back, "I think we're just going to stick with four people. The less people the better."
"That's not true. If there were more people, we could get the job done quicker! Will you please let me join?"
And it was me who had gave in and let her join.
There was no way she was going to stop bugging us if we said no.
So here we were currently at Jungkook's house, giving each other tasks on what we would be doing.

"I'll take care of the poster. I'm pretty good with painting and arts, so you guys can hand me the information and I'll make sure to have everything on there while making the poster look good." I offered.
I loved doing posters. Plus, there were enough people to do the research anyways.
I'm not about that researching life.
Taehyung nodded. "Sounds good. Then the rest of us will take care of the research?"
Everyone nodded, writing down what part they'd be researching on.
Surprisingly, Jaeun was participating. Although she was leaning over Jungkook whenever the opportunity arose, you could easily tell that she wanted a good grade just as much as everybody else did.
"Wait," Jungkook stopped in the middle of his writing. "What if I do the poster with you, Miyoung? Don't you think that's a whole load for you to do?"
I blinked, surprised at what he just offered. "I don't really mind. I enjoy doing it by myself." I subtly emphasized myself.
Jaeun looked between us two. "Yeah, I've seen Miyoung do some pretty neat posters. Why don't you just let her do it herself? If she says she can do it, then she can do it."
I bit my lip to contain a laugh. Jungkook was trying to get out of spending time with Jaeun by throwing himself to me, but I wasn't gonna let him have it.
"She's got a point," I narrowed at Jungkook, my smirk rising as I see his face turn to annoyance. "I said I got it. Why, do you not trust me?"
Jungkook hissed, glaring at me. He was trying to communicate with his eyes that he did not want to be with Jaeun.
Oh, but this was very funny to me.
"Just let me work on it with you." He lowly said.
"Then I'll do the poster as well!" Jaeun chirped.
A side of my mouth curled up, "Okay, then you two do the poster and I'll do the research with Taehyung and Nayoung."
Taehyung looked at me with a small smirk, knowing exactly what I was doing.
"Miyoung!" Jungkook said loudly, making me jump ever so slightly.
The four of us turned to look at him with wide eyes.
He was glaring at me, his jaw ticked. He knew what I was doing, and he did not like it one bit.
This was fun.
"Let's go talk somewhere."
And in the blink of an eye, he grabbed my wrist and dragged me out of there, ignoring Jaeun's calls and Taehyung's questions.
He pulled me to his kitchen and closed the door. He turned to me with his arms crossed.
"I know what you're doing." He stated. "Please, I'm begging you not to make me work with her. That girl- that girl is the epitome of Satan himself. I can't stand being next to her for another second. Please let me work with you on the poster. Please."
Wow.
I've never heard Jungkook beg like that before.
But somehow that made this even more exciting.
I crossed my arms and leaned back the slightest, my eyebrow raised as I pulled out a small smile. "Is the Jeon Jungkook begging me right now? This is a sight to see."
Jungkook ignored my statement. "Do you want me alive?"
"Well," I paused, pretending to think. "If you were dead I would be first place. So no, I don't."
"Shut up. Park Miyoung, please."
I sighed, knowing that if I said no he wasn't going to stop pestering me about it.
Wow, he and Jaeun were a lot alike.
"Fine. You also have artistic skills, might as well put it to good use." I muttered, ignoring his child-like grin and heading out of the door.
I sat back down next to Taehyung on the floor and solemnly watched Jungkook sit back down on the couch, making sure there was a good distance between him and Miyoung.
"So, after much discussion," I begin, subtly glaring at Jungkook who had a triumphant smirk on his face. "Jungkook will be helping me with the poster since he also has some good artistic skills. Jaeun, you're just going to do the research with Taehyung and Nayoung."
I paused, watching her face drop. "But don't worry, all five of us are going to meet up still and work on it all together."
It was Jungkook's turn to change moods.
I smiled. Who won this round, Jungkook?
