Her steps were bold, fast and elegant. She swung her body, smiling at the random cameras that clicked. Whenever she sees someone she knows, she nods her head to acknowledge them. The event was an engagement party and traditional wedding her mother was meant to attend but could not. Since she was in the mood for owambe, Lola volunteered to be there. Her mother had made sure the aso ebi was sown by one of Lagos's most expensive tailors. The style was customised, her hair sleek and swept to the side and her makeup flawless.

One glance at the mirror, Lola knew she was going to steal the lime light from the couple. She was sure to look more gorgeous than the bride to be. She laughed, lifting a hand to wave at someone she knew then dropped that hand to her lustrous shoulder length hair.

"Lola Kola-Daisi" A voice greeted from behind her.

Lola swung around with her bright dazzling smile.

"Shawn Ositadinma" She recognised the man standing behind her. "How are you?" She leaned in to peck him on both cheeks, her scent pervading into his nostrils, alerting some nerves in his head.

"Fine" He gave a soft smile, analysing her look which she caught. She smiled, giggled then touched her hair again.

Shawn Ositadinma was a man she met at her father's party. She had been roaming about, enjoying the attention and the party when he had walked up to her. With the aim to woo, she had listen to his boring speech and laughed. She knew he was smitten. She had always stolen men's breath away. It was an aim she chose since that incident five years ago. One man ruined it all. He made her a player.

"I see you are a guest at this wedding"

She ran her pretty eyes over his tall frame. "And you. You look absolutely gorgeous" With a sophisticated poise, she placed both hands on her clutch purse.

Lola smiled, sweeping her hand through her side swept hair. "I know but thanks" She giggled then turned to leave, feeling his eyes on her.

Anyone could feel the energy, the power and happiness that came with it. The music was loud but concealed in just the hall and not allowed to flow out. People executed dance steps and couple were not an exceptional. The bride with her friends and the groom with his. They had danced together few minutes before she arrived. With her shoulders high, she climbed the dance floor to meet the bride, Isioma.

"Isioma" Lola climbed onto the stage where the engaged couple sat.

"Oh my! Lola Kola-Daisi" The bride to be who was stunned to see Lola Kola-Daisi, a lady she had only dreamt of meeting and stalked on instagram had rushed to Lola. "You are at my engagement party. Oh my God, you are prettier in person"

The couple were Igbo so the traditional marriage had been done with Igbo way. Rumour had said the bride to be, Isioma was a commoner but the groom was some rich dude, Dozie, from some influential family. Well, who give a fuck about that? Lola grinned at Isioma. She, Lola Kola-Daisi, is way better than the couple.

"You are a pretty bride" Lola smiled.

"Thank you" The bride blushed, gripping Lola's hand harder. Feeling the music in her body, Lola began to swing her body. Knocked for six and giddy to have such a lady with her, Isioma began to dance. Lola opened her purse. Soon, she was spraying hundred dollar notes on the bride. With a hidden greediness, Isioma held the notes to her chest as she danced.

The party was a bomb. It was just what Lola loves. She caught the eyes of some men on her. Whenever she makes eye contact with some she considered eligible to be on her list, she smiles at them. When the couple were asked to dance again, she was one of those who was eligible enough to spend dollar notes. All thanks to her generous father.

"You have no idea how stunned she looked. It was stupid and funny" Lola said to those around her table. The table was a table for ten.

"She needs to know how to stay in her place" One of those on the table interjected.

"Exactly" She pointed a manicured finger at the lady who looked at Lola with admiration. "Oh, I am famished" Lola wafted a hand across her face. "Excuse me" She lifted a hand.

The usher returned back with the requested food without forgetting to put a spoon as Lola had requested. Lola stomach grumbled at the sight of the two wraps of pounded yam with a bowl with mouth-watering egusi soup and assorted meats and fishes.

"Orekelewa, is what's on your plate not too much just for you?" She heard his voice as she lifted a spoon to her mouth.

What is he doing here? She went rigid for a swift moment then relaxed.

"How is the quantity of food I consume your business?" she had not raised her eyes to glance at him.

"I care because you are too fit for what's on your plate" he scanned her figure. She had a nice figure. Her figure was slim but not extremely curvaceous. At least, she was not lacking in the female department. Her figure was such that irrespective of the type of outfit she had on, she would look stunning. She had the body and height that brings out the beauty of an attire especially those lovely shoulders. "You might burst" he whispered to her ear. His words built annoyance on her.

Lola glanced around the table, meeting curious eyes. Giving a smile, she whipped her head to him. "Why are you here?"

"The same reason you are here, to party and I am dressed right for it" She ran her eyes over him. In an agbada and eti aja, he was a perfect example of Yoruba demon. The one you find in parties. For once, she accessed him. He had caramel skin. His dark hair was cut low with carve at the edge with a look she found too appealing. She pressed her lips together. "You look good and you smell nice" he leaned in to sniff her.

"You irritate me, young man" she spat.

"Oh, you have forgotten my name" How could she forget his name? How could she forget the man who had made her go to bed angry the night before? "I am Joshua but call me Josh" she threw him a livid stare.

Lola pressed her lips together then turned away. "I think this will be a farewell. I am taking my leave" She got to her feet, taking her purse.

"Why so soon?"

"You should not leave yet"

"We were enjoying your company" Came the chorus.

"Do not worry. We might be privileged to meet again" She waved then took her leave.

"Did I ruin your mood because I actually thought you were having a good time?" He asked but she did not answer. "You were in a good mood and I knew that was the best time to meet you. I hoped for once that you won't give me a savaged reply" He paused yet got no reply. "You have......"

"Will you stop following me?" She barked pausing to look at him. "Just fuck off! You piss me off!" Hissing, she marched away while he watched her receding back.
