I continue stuffing my face with food on Rykers bed.

Ive finished my chicken wings and have moved onto the delicious potato salad that he had found down stairs in the fridge. Ryker is laying on his side just watching me intently as I eat.

I put down my fork

"How old are you" I ask timidly

"Why?" He's response is very short and blunt. I hope I haven't offended him 

"What do you mean why?" I retort before i can event ing about how rude my response seems

"Why does it matter?" Ryker replies. He now sitting up in the bed avoiding eye contact with me.

"Your the father of my baby.. so 'd say its pretty vital information Ryker"

"Well how old are you" he asks

"Ive already told you...Im 23" I reply quiet happily

I look of worry covers his face

"What was that look for" I ask

"Nothing.... no reason" He splutters in response

"So are you going to tell me how old you are?" I push again

He coughs, clearing his thought "I'm 23 too " he says very unconvincingly

I drop it. he's obviously not going to tell me but.... I will get tout of him.

I pick up my fork and continue digging into this delicious potato salad.

After Im full of food and content Ryker and I make our way downstairs together.

Whilst walking down the stair Ryker grabs my hand

I can feel the warmth in my cheeks as I smile. It gives me a glimmer of hope that maybe there is something between us.

We enjoy the rest of the BBQ and I meet lots of new people. I learn just how different he is aroundhis family and friends. He's very protective of me. Always pulling me near him or showing that I'm his. Am I I think? There are so many sides to Ryker King and I a more than happy to get to know all of them.

"I better call my sister Rayleigh"

"Whys that" he asks

"She'll be worrying about me " I say "We share an apartment and she knows I'm pregnant.... I don't want to freak her out or anything"

He nods "let her know you're staying with me tonight"

I arch my eyebrow "Oh... am I just"

"Yeah Angel... no arguments"

I pull my phone out of my pocket and dial Ray's number. She answers on the first ring. SHIT.. she must be worried about me. "Sav where have you been?"

"Ive been with Ryker. Getting to know him and his family and stuff... chill out Ray"

Her response is one word "why?"

"Because he is the father of my baby Ray and..." I take a really long before not sure if i want to tell her "maybe I want make this work between us"

"Geez Sav it was a one night stand. Just because your pregnant with his baby doesn't mean you have to marry the guy"

I nod... knowing she can't see so I confirm it with words for her "I know I know"

"Anyway I will be home Monday morning before work. We can catch up then"

"Ok" she says in a very unimpressed attitude.

I close my phone and put it back in my pocket. Within seconds my eyes meet with Rakers.

He wanders over to me and places his hand in my.. or at least he tries to.

I jolt my hand up to fiddle with my hair and avert eye contact.

"What are we doing Ryker" I say in a hushed tone

He looks at me confused.

"I mean what is this" I gesture to the space in-between us
