When I woke up this morning, I felt something wet in the bed. Great. I peed on myself. I got up out of the bed and when I saw it, I knew right then that I had lost Alex. Blood. So much blood. I grabbed my phone off of my bedside table and called Troian. "T, I don't know what to do. There's so much blood!" "Oh my god, Shay I'll be there soon. Call 911. Just stay calm." "I can't lose my baby, T." I hung up the phone and called 911. After about 5 minutes, I heard sirens and Troians voice. The paramedics rushed in and asked me all these questions but all I could think about was if I had lost my baby. "Ma'm, how far along are you?" "Almost 5 months. Is my baby alive?" "We won't know till we get you in the ambulance." "Please save my baby." When I got into the ambulance, Troian was there with me. "Ma'm you haven't lost your baby yet but if you don't get to the hospital within 10 minutes, you will." When we got to the hospital, they rushed me to a room. "Ma'm, you're gonna have to have an emergency c-section." "But I'm only 5 months pregnant." "If you want your baby to have a small chance of survival, you need an emergency c-section." "Do what you need to do as long as it means my baby has a chance at living." They rushed me back into the c-section room and left Troian waiting in the waiting room.

Alex has been alive for 4 hours. He's not even the size of my thumb, yet he's still managed to survive for 4 hours. He's one strong baby. Troian had called Keegan when we first got here, and he was now waiting in the waiting room. I wasn't sure if Alex was gonna make it past a couple days old, but even if he didn't, it was a miracle that he survived at all. Troian was in the room with me. "Troian, how did you get through this?" "It was hard, but I managed. I went through it twice. It's the worst thing that could ever happen to anybody. But I had you, Ash, Lucy, Sasha, Mar and Janel by my side so it made it easier. Alex still has a chance. Don't give up, Shay." "Does Keegan know?" "He knows that Alex might not make it. Shay, he's heartbroken. It's his only son. He loves that baby boy so much. The bond between a father and son is unbreakable." "Do you think he'll make it?" "Considering the fact he has you as a mommy, definitely." "How'd I get so lucky to have you as a best friend, T?" "Because we share a bond that nobody can break."
