After seeing Theo with my own eyes, I had tried to keep to myself and not look bothered by his presence at all. But it wasn't working at all. It was like I felt him watching me even though I knew he wasn't. Not when I was looking over at him anyway.

Weird thing was, was that none of my friends had even noticed him or his friends - even though they were the loudest people in this place. I felt thankful for that though because they'd probably go absolutely crazy.

"Can you fill up my drink for me please?" Asked Cadence, sliding me her empty cup along the table.

I needed to fill up mine too.

"Sure. What drink?" I stood up from my seat and quickly took a peak to where Theo and his friends were sat. Theo rested his arms behind his head and laughed, his deep voice echoing through the diner making me shiver. Fuck.

"Diet Coke please. I'm on a diet." Cadence's voice brought me back. She tapped her stomach with a lopsided grin.

"You know having Diet Coke isn't any less healthier than a normal Coke." Charlotte said bluntly with her arms crossed against her chest.

"Yes it is. It says the word 'Diet' before Coke." She sat up with a frown on her face.

"That's not how it works." Charlotte shook her head and I watched from a distance. Angel too.

"So tell me. How does it work?" She crossed her arms too and Charlotte rolled her eyes dramatically.

"I'm not exactly sure but all I know is that it's not healthier than a normal Coke."

Cadence sat up further, her brows knitting together. "Says who?"

"The internet."

I cleared my throat, still holding the cups in my hands. "Do you still want a Diet Coke?" I asked, leg tapping against the floor. Not that I was nervous or anything.

Cadence took one look at Charlotte and then she turned her whole body towards me, one of her hands covering the side of her mouth. "Just a normal Coke. Please." She whispered but I couldn't make out what she was saying.

"Sorry. What did you say?" I asked.

She gestured for me to come closer so I did.

"Yeah. Speak up Cadence." Charlotte teasingly said and Cadence coughed, smiling straight after.

"One of those." She pointed not so discreetly to a drink that was being served to the table next to us.

"So a Coke?" I asked loudly and Cadence's eyes widened. I heard Charlotte laugh loudly making Cadence even more embarrassed. "I'll get it for you now." I smiled awkwardly and walked off upto the soda machine.

Oops.

"That- I didn't say that." Cadence said in defence as she rubbed her neck. She looked up to meet Charlotte's 'I told you so' face then chuckled awkwardly.

I shook my head feeling amused, and filled up her cup with, Coke. "Do you want ice with it?" God knows why I poured her drink first before adding ice. I was stupid sometimes!

As I looked at Cadence, waiting for her quick answer, I realised that her eyes were not focused on me but on something else. I looked at her confusedly but she pointed to something behind me making me turn around — making me almost spill the drink everywhere over the floor.

Theo chuckled seeing how shocked his presence made me and he leant forwards over to the ice machine, filling up his glass with some. I bit down on my bottom lip as I smelt his familiar cologne making me forget all the basic senses. Shitting hell.

He leant back, and I quickly added some ice cubes to Cadence's glass in awkward silence, setting it down on the side to fill up mine straight after.

"Didn't mean to scare you." He said, tilting his head down to look at my face that I was definitely not coincidentally hiding from him.

"You didn't." I shrugged, feeling a bundle of nerves starting to build up in my stomach.

He definitely did.

He snorted. "Sure."

Silence fell between us and I stood there looking like a melon with my glass that literally just had ice in. I saw him staring down at me making me shudder. "I-I have a question.." I started and he hummed in response, looking down at me before he started to fill up his cup with lemonade. I tried to focus on what I was going to say other than the way his tattooed arm looked so damn good.

I cleared my throat and shuffled my feet away from him. "Shouldn't we start on the project? We don't have long to prepare it." We had barley any time and it was making me feel angsty that we hadn't even come up with an idea yet.

"What project?" He asked confusedly, his brows knitted together, creasing his forehead.

"For business. Do you not remember?" I asked in disbelief. Wasn't he worrying about this? He stayed quiet, taking a slow sip from his drink, telling me the obvious.

"Would it be bad if I said no?"

I thought for a second. "Yes."

He nodded his head and looked down at his shoes and back up, his dark hair falling over his eyes. "In that case I say no." He said confidently and I looked at him blankly. From the corner of my eye I could see his friends all looking at us.

I met his eyes again and gulper thickly when I saw how amused he is by this. He was watching me with his head cocked to the side and his signature smirk placed on his lips. "Kidding." His tongue darted out and licked over his lower lip, over his metal lip ring. I cleared my throat and straightened out my posture, my eyes going back to meet his.

"R-Right. Okay." I breathed quickly. "Well do you have any ideas?" I asked and I pressed a button on the machine and my drink was filling up.

He clenched his jaw and it stayed that way for a few seconds whilst he thought. With the honey sun seeping in through the window, it casted a shiny glow over his face. The sun created shadows over his eyes and his long lashes — that made every girl jealous — and he looked down at me. His hair looked sof- "Yeah, I do actually." He bit his lip and for some reason he was smirking again. "I just think you should try and pay attention." He shrugged casually and I scrunched my face up in confusion. What the fuck did he mean?

Then my question got answered as I stared down the soda machine, the drink overfilling and spilling. I had never felt so embarrassed.

I had never slammed a button so fast in my entire life until now. I mentally cursed to myself when I heard Theo chuckle deeply as he walked away.

You're a total embarrassment Willow.

I grabbed a couple napkins and wiped down the sides that had soda spilt on it. I carefully lifted my glass up to my lips and took several sips from it so that it wouldn't spill all down my clothes. "Shithead." I muttered under my breath. He could've said something sooner. I glared over to his table and his friends were all laughing. He stared at me with an amused look on his face and swirled his half drunken drink in his large hands. Fuck his big hands. Fuck him.

I carefully picked up Cadence's glass and held mine in my other hand, walking back over to our booth. I placed the glasses carefully down onto the table. "Did you see what I did?" I asked in disbelief and I shook my head. I had never done anything like that before!

"Did you see who you were speaking to?" Angel's voice raised but Charlotte was quick to shut her up by chucking a fry at her face.

Cadence giggled and took her drink in her hands. "Thank you, you sweet little child." She looked at me as I sat down. I was still conscious of Theo and his annoying friends looking at me.

I covered my hand over my mouth as I laughed. "You sound like my Mother." I told her but she just shrugged it off.

"Your Mom must be cool then." She winked and I laughed.

"But did you see who you were talking to?" Angel asked again, her whole body leant forward as she looked at me in genuine shock. Charlotte rolled her eyes and took a large bite out of her burger.

"Yeah.." I said and brought my lips to my glass, gulping down a large amount. I felt so sick and my stomach felt weird.

"Why do you seem so casual about it? If it was me I'd climb him like a tree." She expressed with much enthusiasm but only if she knew how anxious I really felt.

"Please don't say that. That sounds really weird." Charlotte said and snorted.

"But it's facts!" She exclaimed, peeking over towards the table where Theo and that lot were sat. I didn't see me brother, nor Jackson. I wondered where they were.

Cadence sat up, a fry in her hand. "Why can I actually imagine you doing that though? You'd look like a cat got stuck in a tree." She laughed to herself and Angel sent her an offended look.

"I'll be a cat that doesn't want to be saved from the tree." She flicked her brown hair off her shoulder sassily and I laughed.

"He wouldn't want you there in the first place." Cadence stated, stifling a laugh.

"She's got you there." Charlotte pointed to Cadence and Angel pulled a funny face.

"You guys are boring."

"So are your movie choices." Charlotte fired back and Angel gasped.

"My movie choices are not boring. You girls just have no taste!" She crossed her arms over her chest in defence. I shoved a fry into my mouth as I watched them.

"You don't like watching horror movies. Like who doesn't like watching them? Everyone does!" Charlotte reasoned and I nodded. Horror movies were amazing.

"Well at least I don't look like I'm in one!" She gestured to Charlotte's clothes.

"At least I don't look like I'm apart of the circus." Charlotte pointed down to Angel's funky looking pants.

"Is that so bad?" Angel shot Charlotte a glare.

Charlotte shrugged and slowly slurped on her drink. "Nope.

"Also! These are expensive clothes!" She exclaimed, shrieking at Charlotte's words.

"Where from? Ebay?" Angels mouth dropped wide as she gasped and Charlotte backed away in the seat, bracing herself for what I could only imagine to be some more comebacks.

But I was wrong. Instead, Angel slapped Charlotte on the arm harshly and took Charlotte's burger from her.

"Hey! That's mine!" She whined and I shuffled towards Cadence who watched them both squabble.

"Are they always like this?" I whispered to Cadence and she munched on her sandwich without a care in the world.

"Yes. But I've come to a point where I just let them do their thing now." She laughed and I chortled.

"Sounds like a good idea." I muttered in response. I sat up straight and breathed in and out. I bought a fry to my lip and took a small bite out of it, feeling my stomach simmering down from the nerves. I managed to eat the whole of my food, all the whole I felt eyes boring into the side of my face.

It was the most uncomfortable feeling in the whole entire world and especially didn't like it when people watched me eat. What was even worse was that I knew who exactly was looking at me — and that made me feel even more self-conscience.

The diner filled up and the girls had finished up with their food. After paying, we grabbed our stuff and walked out of the diner. Theo and his friends had already left not that long ago and Angel was practically screaming in excitement that they were in the same diner as us.

"He was looking at you." Cadence whispered to me, sitting beside me as she got into the car.

"Who?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

Cadence huffed, strapping herself in. "Theo. He wouldn't stop looking at you when they were all going. I'm surprised you didn't see."

Theo was looking at me? Why?

"Yeah. He probably hates me." I chuckled to myself and Cadence shrugged.

"The way he looked at you said something different." She told me and I leant back in the seat.

"Oh." Was all I could come out with. He was a confusing person and humiliating me today at the diner in front of all his friends only made me feel angrier.

Cadence's words left an imprint on me even for the whole journey back to my house. The car came to a stop on the curb and I made sure I had got everything with me. "Thanks for everything you guys." I said and Angel and Charlotte turned in their seats, waving me goodbye.

"See you Monday for tryouts!" Yep. That was right. I was trying out for the cheer team because Cadence persuaded me that it was going to be fun. With much persuasion I agreed. Though I wish I never did now because I felt sick.

I stepped out of the car and a bundle of worry washed over me.

"See you then." I shakily said and shut the door after me, walking up my drive. The car reversed and drove away. I walked inside.

I swallowed the worry down and something cheered me up. Theo was looking at me.

Apparently!

I shivered as I pictured his eyes on me. His bright green eyes looking into my blue ones. I bit my tongue and ran upstairs to get changed. I ripped off my jumper and threw it back onto my bed to wear during the night if I ever got cold. I got dressed into a random t-shirt and sweatpants and walked into my bathroom to wash off my makeup.

I wondered why Theo was looking at me today. That whole thing, talking to him just by myself, it felt weird. I mean I had never spoken to him properly but that was the first ever time.

Mom wasn't home and so wasn't Callum so I decided on doing some baking and blasting some music on in the kitchen. I liked doing things like this when I was on my own. It ruined it when someone came into the room asking what I was doing or even if someone else's presence was around. It was not like I could dance to my favourite music and sing into a whisk when someone else was around could I?

I walked into the kitchen and leant my hip against the counter. I took out my phone from my pocket of my sweatpants and pressed onto my number one favourite app: Pinterest.

I was a Pinterest whore and I couldn't be more proud.

Scrolling for what felt like hours, I managed to find some heart-shape inspired cookies. I pulled open the fridge and took out all the necessary ingredients I needed, cupboard too.

I climbed up onto the counter and grabbed a mixing bowl, almost falling. I know it wasn't a massive drop but it was still scary to think I could fall. Knowing me I'd find some way in hurting myself.

I spun on my feet and danced my way over to the speaker, connecting my phone to it via bluetooth. "What song, what song?" I murmured to myself as I scrolled through the choices. "Do I feel sad today or do I feel happy?" I asked myself with a tap of my finger on my chin. Deciding what music playlist suited me for today, I pressed onto my happy playlist. I walked back over to the counter with my phone in my hand and started to prep the cookie mix.

With my phone set up leaning against the fruit bowl with the recipe on the screen, I started by heating the oven up and adding some flower to the baking tray. "Perfect!"

I spun and danced on my feet again, my blonde hair bouncing in its slight curls. "I can see us in the club, we'll be acting so nice!" I sang to myself in the most high-pitched, ear-wrenching voice from the top of my lungs. But it was okay, no one could stop me.

Ha!

After twenty minutes of doing all the boring stuff like adding all the ingredients into the bowl along with adding a bunch of chocolate chips and mixing it all together, I flattened the cookie dough out and grabbed my cute little cookie cutters. I got these ages ago but never got around to actually using them. Do you ever buy stuff and think yes I'll definitely use that but you never actually do? Instead it just sat in some dark dingy cupboard until you come back many years later to realise you actually have it.

Because same.

I carefully lined up the heart-shapes cookie cutters in a neat line, repeating the same thing over and over until the dough was full up of imprints of hearts. I then moved the freshly cut dough onto the tray and slid it into the oven.

"And you're done." I clapped my hands together and let out a breath of air.

I cleaned up everything and wiped down the counter from the over-spill of some flower. Yes, it had got all over the counter because I accidentally dropped the bag. I thought I saw a spider!

I disconnected my phone from the speaker and walked into the living room, pulling on a thin blanket and switching on the television whilst the cupcakes baked in the oven.

Watching the tv animations in a daze, I fluttered in and out of consciousness, my eyelids falling closed gently and all of a sudden I slipped into a little nap.

Ding!

The sound of the oven jolted me awake and I sat up feeling confused as ever. I tapped the screen of my phone and saw that I had been asleep for a while. I yawned and stretched out my arms before wandering back into the kitchen to take out the cookies.

I bent down onto the floor and took a look into the oven, mouth slacked open when I saw how much it had risen. I slipped on the butterfly mittens and took the tray out, leaving it to cool for a little while.

To my shock my phone pinged and I walked over to where I had placed it when I came in. I slid my hands out of the mittens and tossed them to the side to pick up my phone.

I leant my lower back against the counter and pressed onto the message with apprehension. It took me to the message and I bit down on my nail.

: Be careful bitch.

The words left me feeling at unease. I felt like I should reply and ask who this person was, but at the same time I didn't want to. The amount of documentaries I had watched about creepy stalkers and about harassment issues was making me feel uncomfortable about this message.

With a deep breath I felt a weird, deep feeling in my stomach. This didn't feel right to me. I immediately blocked the ID straight away and switched off my phone, holding it in my hands tightly.

It must of been a mistake.

It was definitely a mistake.

Was it though?

I shook my head from my worried thoughts and tried to distract myself by inhaling the sweet scent of the chocolate cookies I had just made. The displeasing settlement in my stomach growled for food.

For the rest of the night I didn't touch my phone. I left it away in the corner of my room whilst I stared at it. No matter if it was a message sent to me by accident, I couldn't help feel sorry for who it was really meant for.

And that thought kept me up all night.
