Sorting Ceremony
"Professor McGonagall." Said the giant man. "Thank you, Hagrid. I'll take it from here."
With that, the giant man left. They looked at Professor McGonagall. She was a witch, wearing a pointy hat. Ella then realized the name who was in the Hogwarts Letter. She peeked behind a girl to see Professor McGonagall.
Professor McGonagall walk away, knowing they would follow her so the students walk behind her down the hall.
Professor McGonagall stopped as she turned around, behind her, was a big door. "Welcome to Hogwarts, The start-of-term banquet will begin shortly, but before you take your seats in the Great Hall, you will be sorted into your houses. The Sorting is a very important ceremony because, while you are here, your house will be something like your family within Hogwarts. You will have classes with the rest of your house, sleep in your house dormitory, and spend free time in your house common room."
She continues, "The four houses are called Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Each house has its noble history and each has produced outstanding witches and wizards..."
Ella was listening quietly to Professor McGonagall when someone talked to them. "Does it hurt though?"
"I don't know, George. Let's find out."
It was another two people with the same ginger hair with the one who helped Tonks carry her Trunk.
When she looked back to Professor McGonagall, she was gone. "Wait- where did she go?"
"She said she's giving us time to get ready," Seraphina muttered to her. "I think I'm ready! Can't wait to get sorted! I hope to get in Hufflepuff like my other family."
Professor McGonagall then came back, telling them to form a line as she turned back around and the door to the Great Hall swing opened.

Professor McGonagall walked down the hall, followed by many first-year students looking at the ceiling that looks like a star with floating candles.
The senior of the Hogwarts students look at the nervous yet amazing first year.
Finally, Professor McGonagall stopped. She took a stool and place it in front of her with an old dusty wizard hat.
Ella began to wonder what she was doing and what will happen. The first year's eyes widened when the sorting hat began to sing ;
"Oh, you may not think I'm pretty,
But don't judge on what you see,
I'll eat myself if you can find
A smarter hat than me.
You can keep your bowlers black,
Your top hats sleek and tall,
For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat
And I can cap them all.
There's nothing hidden in your head
The Sorting Hat can't see,
So try me on and I will tell you
Where you ought to be.
You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve, and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart;
You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true
And unafraid of toil;
Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw, if you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind;
Or perhaps in Slytherin
You'll make your real friends,
Those cunning folk use any means
To achieve their ends.
So put me on! Don't be afraid!
And don't get in a flap!
You're in safe hands (though I have none)
For I'm a Thinking Cap!"
They began to applause after the hat has done singing.
"George, you thinking what I'm thinking?"
"Are we thinking about telling Ron the sorting will hurt then yes?" The two twins gave each other fist bumps.

Professor McGonagall began to call out the student's name. Ella felt butterflies in her stomach, she's hiding the fact she's keeping her breathing stable.
"Allen, Helena!" Professor McGonagall shouted. A small girl with dark hair and blue eyes walk up and sat on the stool as Professor McGonagall placed the hat on her head. "Ravenclaw!"
"Avery, William!"
"Slytherin!"
"Bletcley, Miles!"
"Slytherin!"
"Black, Estella!" Ella began to feel numb, she was panicking inside but she still walk up to Professor McGonagall and sat on the stool.
She was nervous that everyone looked at her and some even whispered about her. She spotted Tonks not so far away who gave her a warm smile to ease her nervousness.
"You could be great in Gryffindor. Yes.. a very brave, no strong heart like your parents." Some of the Gryffindors had their head shakes, not wanting her to be in Gryffindor.
"Or perhaps Slytherin like your family? Cunning and ambitious, yes." He muttered to Ella. "Your heart is strong with patience and loyalty. You're difficult, where to put you... better be, Hufflepuff!"
The Hufflepuff table began to cheer along with Tonks, however, some weren't very pleased to hear. The other houses breathe a relieved sigh that she wasn't in any houses but was sorted in so-called the worst house, Hufflepuff.
As she walk down to the Hufflepuff table, she passed the Slytherin table and heard whispers about her, saying "A Black? Hufflepuff? Bet she was sorted in that because of crying every night about her parents."
"Congrats, Ellie!" Tonks gave her a hug after she sat down next to her on the Hufflepuff table.
"Diggory, Cedric!" And so the sorting move on. "Hufflepuff!"
"Daniel, Talicia!" She recognized the girl from her compartment. "Slytherin!"
Again whispered was all across the Hall, "But she's muggle-born. How can that be?"
"Davies, Roger!"
"Ravenclaw!"
"Gillies, Genevieve!"
"Hufflepuff!"
"Hallor, Amanda!"
"Hufflepuff!"
"Johnson, Angelina!"
"Gryffindor!"
"Jorden, Lee!"
"Gryffindor!"
"Montague, Graham!"
"Slytherin!"
"Pucey, Adrian!"
"Slytherin!"
"Scamander, Seraphina!"
"Hufflepuff!"
"Sherwood, Jacob!"
"Hufflepuff!"
And then it was Alicia Spinnet, Keneth Towler, and the two familiar twins.
"Weasley, Fred!" He was sorted into Gryffindor along with his twin brother.
A blond girl next to Tonks, was laughing, "I guess it runs in the Weasley family?"
"You made it!" Seraphina smiled.
"Oi, you're the Black's daughter aren't ya?" The boy named Jacob Sherwood asked. His head tilted to see her face more. Estella looked at him with an uncomfortable look, "Yes, why? You don't have any problem with that?"
Jacob's smile grew "Wicked! How are you in Hufflepuff?"
"Jake, stop bothering her." Another male first-year student said next to him. He had grey eyes, brown eyes gleaming at her with comfort "He's new to all of this since he's muggle-born. I'm Cedric Diggory."
Ella smiled to both Cedric and Jake, "Nice to meet you both."
"I was just asking." Jake rolled his eyes. His arm was crossed and before he begin to eat his food, Seraphina rolled her eyes.
"Shut up and eat your food before I eat them." Said Jake.

She will have no choice but to resort to her wits, make unexpected allies, and navigate her way through unforgiving lands in order to survive. Will she be up to the task? Greetings, reader! First of all, thank you for taking an interest and read my story. This is a story I've been working through all my life. But since I'm a first-time writer, I wanted to start with something small. This is just a small part of something much greater that hopefully one day I'll be able to translate into words as well. I will try to make it interesting as possible but please bear with me. Please understand that English is not my native language, I worked really hard to write in English the best I could. So please if you find any typos and grammar errors let me know. I'll try to upload new chapters as soon as I can. Although I had originally planned to deliver a chapter a MONTH, I think the real estimate would be a chapter EVERY 3 MONTHS since I also have to earn the daily bread. Cover picture made by me. The background picture is from Google but I modified it enough from the original. The story is also available on Wattpad, Inkitt, Scribblehub, and Webnovel.
