《Draco's Hufflepuff》Part 9

I looked over at the Slytherin table and smiled at Draco who sat there and smiled back at me, I looked down at my food and smiled to myself feeling my heart flutter at Draco's smile.
After breakfast I met up with Harry, Hermione and Ron so Harry could tell us about his lesson with Dumbledore last night. Harry told us everything and we all agreed we'd wait for him in the Gryffindor common room, then when he returned I would use the invisibility cloak and sneak down to the Hufflepuff common room.
I ended up splitting from the group after we had made all the plans and I went up to the ROR in hopes to see Draco there.
I sat in there for hours until I was forced to go down to dinner to meet with Hermione and Ron since Harry had left with professor Dumbledore just before dinner. I hurriedly sat down and looked around the Slytherin table to see if Draco was there, sadly he wasn't.
I gently picked at the food that I had put onto my plate until Hermione came over "hi, wait have you not eaten anything?" She asked plopping herself down ignoring the looks from other Hufflepuffs. "Of course I have eaten something, this is my second plate" I lied to her as I put a fork full of mashed potatoes into my mouth.
Hermione signed and dragged me up and out of the great hall to meet Ron out there.
The three teens went up to the Gryffindor's common room and sat down in front of the fire. The hours passed and suddenly the clock was chiming 9pm, Y/N looked out the window and gasped.
Hermione and Ron went over to her although just before they reached her she ran out, Hermione gasped as well when she looked out the window to see the dark mark. Hermione ran after Y/N with Ron trailing behind Hermione the two of them looking all around for Y/N.

Instead of finding Y/N Potter the two found Harry running after Snape and casting a spell at him.
I noticed a pice of red hair swaying into the forbidden forest and I gasped quietly to myself, Y/N had followed Draco.
I saw Draco being dragged away from the school grounds by Bellatrix Lestrange and I froze in place at seeing the crazy witch that murdered my god father. I almost attacked her for touching Draco and pulling him like that behind her as I noticed tears on his cheeks.
As soon as we were out of the walls and Bellatrix was about to apperait she loosened her grip on Draco and I grabbed his hand out of her hand apperaiting him and myself away from everyone. We appeared inside the cave that Sirius used in our fourth year as a hide out, Harry and I had come here a couple times on hogsmeade weekends to visit Sirius.
"Y...Y/N?" Draco asked and I noticed tears fall from his eyes as he broke down in front of me, I hurried over gently pulling him to the floor as I stroked his hair and let him cry into my shoulder. "Let me put protection charms around us to be safe then I'll come back down here to you and I'll hug you as much as you need okay?" I asked him and I felt him gently nod his head.
I was about to stand up when he pulled me back into a hug, "I'm sorry for having dragged you into all this mess" Draco whispered and I kissed the top of his head feeling my cheeks and whole face go bright red. I quickly stood up and left the cave, I decided I'd give us a bit of a grass land for us to have inside our protection spells for berries and other things like those.

Draco had been hugging and hanging on to me for about an hour, now he was asleep, I decided I would let him use my chest as a pillow and I grabbed my jacket and wrapped it around him. I noticed Hedwig flying around outside and I gave her a little whistle to call her over, thankfully Draco didn't wake up, Hedwig instantly flew threw the protection wards and I smiled at her.
"Here, give this to Harry" I told her tying a small note around her leg and gently petting her feathers. Hedwig flew out and I smiled after her, after only a couple minutes my eyelids started to feel heavy so I closed them and quickly fell asleep.

I woke up to the morning sun shining into the cave, I looked to my side to see Draco had started up a tiny fire in the middle of the cave and I felt my coat around myself. "Morning" I whispered to Draco who turned to look at me "good morning, where are we?" He asked as he rubbed his hands together in front of the fire, it may be spring but it was cold out.
"Sirius, Harry and I'd godfather staid here for some time while on the run in our fourth year, it was the first place I could think of when I got you away from that witch" I explained making a face. Draco laughed not understanding the muggle saying that I just used but I shrugged it off "anyway, Harry and I sometimes snuck out here on hogsmeade weekends to meet him" I told Draco.
Draco smiled and came over cuddling me better, we headed Hedwig hooting outside the barrier and I whistled her inside, as soon as my whistle was finished we noticed her fly in with two bags that looked heavy. Draco instantly stood up and helped ease the weight from her, she gave a thankful hoot as I stood up untying one bag while Draco worked on the other one.

Void Breaker
Note: Sadly, this story is currently on hiatus :( Elizabeth Sayler had lost everything in the bombing of Reaver Stadium. Her career, her fame, her power — all of it vanished the moment she lost use of her legs. Now, she's beginning to lose hope of ever healing herself… until her world integrates into the Void. When the apocalypse comes in a flurry of System messages, everyone on earth is given a choice: give up what they value most in themselves, and acquire a path to their heart’s greatest desire. Most would hesitate, but for Liz? She has nothing to lose, and absolutely everything to gain. Armed with newfound powers in a world teeming with monsters, she’s determined to not only survive, but to somehow break the Void’s endless assault. * * * This is a small note about the portrayal of disability in this story. As much research as I do and as many people as I ask, I will in the end only be able to understand a small portion of paraplegia and similar disabilities. Therefore, if there is anything particularly disrespectful, please do not hesitate to contact me. I always intended to portray disability in a respectful way in this story, but please know that Liz as a character does not start out with a healthy view of disability. This is intentional, and a large part of her character development comes from this view changing as she learns. Disability is not something she simply "discards" at the beginning of the story, but an ongoing theme and a part of her journey.

There are two reasons this is revealed so early and directly. One: Not revealing that information quickly and not asking questions about it would be completely OoC for the characters involved in that scene. Two: It's information you, the reader, need to know before the main story can really get started. Namely, the "secrets not even the gods know about".

Two Sides
Heroes and monsters are the staples of fantasy. Swords and magic, fairies and dragons, adventures and death; all things went hand in hand in some worlds not our own. Elaine Dawn grew up listening to those stories as a child, imagining, aspiring, yet as she grew she slowly lost her dreams and became detached from what the world could be, slowly becoming one with the world that was. Yet one night she found herself in a dream that became reality, and oh there they were; heroes and monsters, swords of steel, magic of tales, fairies and dragons of old, and adventures that held riches and death both. She had no fantastic magic, no supernatural strength. All she had was herself, her coin, and her life. But that was enough. As she stared into the distance, to the mountain-sized horrors of the night, she smiled and tossed her coin once again.
