《New to This | Lamelo Ball》The Aftermath

Dominique
Everyone stayed frozen. The only thing that could be heard was me and Melo's hearts pounding. I had no idea what to say, even if I did, I was too scared to say anything.
"Please tell me he did not just say you were carrying his child." My mom says trying to remain calm. Once again, there was only silence.
"I'm going to kill you!" My dad charges at Melo. Thankfully my uncles and cousins were able to hold him back before anything happened.
"I think I should go." Melo says getting up. "Yeah and I don't want to see your ass ever again!" My dad yells.
"I'm going with him." I get up following him out the door. "The hell you are!" My dad tries to stop me, "We gave you an inch of freedom and look what happens."
"I'm sorry dad! Do you think I wanted this to happen? Because I didn't!"
"I think you were being stupid! That's what's I think! Matter of fact, go with your little boyfriend because I can't stand to look at you right now!"
"Honey calm down. Dominique you're not leaving."My mom steps in. "No if he wants me gone, then I'll leave." I grab Melo's hand and walk out to the car.
I looked out the window the whole car ride back to his house. Melo tried talking to me, but I ignored him.
"Did you do it on purpose?" I finally speak up. "What are you talking about?"
"Did you purposely announce that we are having a baby?" I ask him again.
"Dominique I swear I didn't mean to. I got so caught up telling you how much I love you, that I forgot about everyone else in the room."
I looked down at the beautiful ring he had bought me, "Thank you." I say still admiring it on my finger, "And I love you too LaMelo." He places his hand on my knee and gives me a quick smile.
"I think we should tell my parents right now." He says as we pulling into the gates. "I'm sorry but no. My head hurts and I can't take anymore drama, not tonight." I plead.
"I at least have to tell my dad. Especially before your parents call one of them. Things will only get worse if we don't say something."
He was right, but I still didn't want to do it. "We don't have to do it tonight if you don't want to."
"Thanks Melo." I kiss his cheek, "How about we call my parents over to talk about things tomorrow?" The sooner we talk about the baby, the better.
"Hey you two are back already?" Tina says as we walk in. "Yeah we had a long day, so is it cool if Dom stays here tonight?" Melo asks.

"Of course she can, you know we love Dom no matter what!" Lavar chuckles.
I'm gonna need him to keep that same energy
We go upstairs to Melo's room and he closes the door. "Everything will be alright." He kisses the top of my forehead.
I nod my head and go to the bathroom to take a shower. My thoughts were all over the place, and only the hot water seemed to calm me down.
Are my parents going to hate me forever? What about Lavar and Tina? What about school? My scholarships? The media?
We should've been more careful

Melo
I got out the shower and seen Dom curdled in a ball, asleep in my bed. I told her we wouldn't tell my parents tonight, but I have to tell my dad.
I walk down the stairs to the living room. Zo, Gelo and my dad we're all sitting around the counter. "Boy when are you gonna get a hair cut." Zo messes with my hair as I walk by.
"When your acne clears."
"So never?" Gelo mumbles under his breath. "That's enough," My dad laughs, "how was tonight at Dom's house."
"I actually came down here to talk about that with you." I said fumbling with my fingers, "I know you're gonna be mad at me, but we just got carried away and it was a mistake."
"What is it son?" He stares me down and I can feel my body getting hot. "Dominique is pregnant." He clenches his fist and looks away.
"Damn Denise is pregnant, Dom is pregnant, maybe I should tell Izzy-"
"Gelo shut the hell up. Let me talk to your brother alone." My dad dismisses them both. He looks at me shaking his head, "How could you be so stupid!"
"I didn't think-"
"That's you're problem right there! You never think about your actions and the consequences they have on you and those around you!"
"We didn't mean for any of this to happen."
"Well it did and now you have a baby on the way. How are you going to take care of it? Do you even know if it's yours?"
"Of course it's mine! Dom isn't that type of girl!" I raise my voice getting mad. "You better watch who you're talking to because I'll slap the hell out of you."
"I've told all three of you boys to be careful because you never know who my try to pull a fast one on you. I know Dominique truly does love you, but what if she didn't. What if she just wanted a baby by you so their last name could be ball and be set for life?"
I never thought about that, but Dom never gave me the reason to. She's never had sex with anyone else other than me, plus I trust her. If someone like Ashley were to tell me she was pregnant and I was the father, I would need a dna test.

"She doesn't care about that dad. When she found out she gave me the option to leave. She didn't want to hold me back so she was willing to let me go and raise our baby by herself."
"And What did you tell her?" I think back to the day we found out she was pregnant, "I told her that I wasn't going anywhere. I said that if we made the baby together, then we were going to raise it together."
My dad rubs the side of his forehead, "Even though I'm extremely disappointed in you, I'm also proud." I looked at him confused, "You understood that this is a life changing situation, and are stepping up to take care of your responsibilities."
"Enough of the yelling," his voice changes to a softer tone, "how are you feeling about all of this?"
I let out a big huff, "I have no idea. I'm scared, worried, and it doesn't help that Dom's dad doesn't want to see either of us."
"I can see why he doesn't want to see you, but we can only hope that he comes around."
"What if he doesn't?" Dom adores her family and if her dad doesn't want to see her, it will crush her. "Then she has you, she has us. We'll take care of her, there's nothing to worry about."
"Thanks dad." I say and he hugs me, "Remember I'll always be her for you Melo." He pats me back as he lets me go. "Now I know that at least one of my grandkids are gonna have some color to them." He jokes.
Thank God for my dad
••••••
I woke up tired from the lack of sleep I got last night. I spent the whole night tossing and turning, trying to get some rest, but failed. I guess I'm just stressed about what's
It's been two days since thanksgiving, and Dom's dad is finally willing to come and talk about what happened. Her mom already came by to talk about things, but today both of her parents will be here.
There was a knock on my door, "Come downstairs, Dom your parents are here." My dad says from the other side.
"Are you nervous?" I ask because she hasn't said anything all morning. "Yeah, but we can get through this she smiles.
We walk downstairs since they were waiting for us. "So we all know why we're here today, so let's just talk about what on everyone's mind." My mom starts the conversation.
"Dad I want to say I'm sorry. I know you're disappointed and mad at me, but I'm having this baby and if you don't want me at home anymore, then Tina and Lavar said they will happily take me in."
My parents are good people, but that was a hard decision for them to make.
"You're right, I am mad and disappointed, but I would never turn my child away. I love you Dominique no matter what you do." He says making her cry.
She's been going on and on about she thinks her dad hates her, so I know this felt like a breath of fresh air. "Lavar you said that your Alan was going to talk to some people regarding Dom's scholarships. Do you know how that went?" Her mom asked.
"It actually went pretty well, since she's only a junior and wouldn't even be going to college this year, her scholarships are still on the table."
Her parents had a look of relief on their faces, "But there's something that you have to do Dom." My dad tells her.
"Okay what is it?"
"We believe that this is Melo's baby, but the lawyers want a DNA test for records if they're ever needed."
She nods her head understanding why, "Ok I don't have a problem with that."
I start getting happy since all of this is finally done, "Now we can finally enjoy having this baby!" I'm not gonna say I wasn't excited to be a dad because I was.
My mom looks at me, "Sweetie there's one more thing." She tells me, then looks at me and Dom, "We all think that maybe you two should keep the baby out of the media."
"Why should we do that?" I'm gonna show of my baby no matter what. "Because people look down on teen parents. With the ball family being constantly watched and reported on, people are going to say things and we don't want that to affect you two." Her mom gives us a sympathetic look.
"You're right, the ball family is always being watched and reported on, so even if we did try to keep the baby a secret, they would eventually find out." Dom responds, "I'm not gonna hide my baby just because we're gonna be teen parents.
That's my girl
"You guys don't have to do anything you don't want to, but we think that it's in your best interest to remain lowkey."
Me and Dom look at eachother, giving this a second thought. We don't want to hide the fact that we're having a kid, but we also don't want the media in our business.

Tower of Babel: Speedrunner
Launch day. That was what they called it. The day when over four million people vanished in an instant from the island of Manhattan. The day earthquakes ravaged the east coast. The day a one hundred and one kilometer tall tower rose from the wreckage of the now empty city. The day every screen, newspaper, and smart phone displayed a single message from an unknown source: The Great Emperor has issued his challenge. From the ruins of the Old World rise the Tower. Its doors will soon open, and the great game will begin. A hundred floors and a hundred challenges await the worthy. And to the victor? A Wish of Unlimited Power. Cayden Caros yearned to play that game. His only problem? The Terms and Conditions. A strict set of rules that, among other things, prevented anyone under the age of sixteen from entering the tower. Forced to wait for over two years, Cayden did the only thing he could do to pass the time. He researched, he practiced and he prepared. It would take a lot to catch up to players with such an enormous head start. Lucky for him, he was a special type of gamer. A SpeedRunner So.... It has been a hot minute. I don't like talking about my personal life, but suffice to say I had some fairly bad times for the last couple of years and have only just recently pulled myself back to good health, physically and mentally. I have a very supportive partner, and am put together enough that I want to get back to doing what I love. Writing nerd fiction that I am too embarassed to try to explain when people inevitably ask what my books are about. Still beats when I used to write erotica. Story updates for book 3 should be on a daily schedule, baring unforseen circumstances. The majority of chapters from books one and two have been pulled down to keep with amazon's KU rules. Book one is found here. Book two is found here. If you like the story, please comment or favorite. Each comment goes a long way towards pushing visibility for the story, which means more people get to see it and I feel slightly more validated as a writer. I have a discord now where you can ask me things and I can be like 'no. no. I'm not answering that. no."
