Everywhere I turned eyes were on me. I get that i'm the new girl and everything but damn... get the fuck off my dick. Girls whispering in each other's ears while looking at me, boys checking me out. But I didn't pay anyone no mind, I'm just here to graduate and never see these mfs again.

I looked at my schedule the secretary gave me, I had calculus first. yay me! I found my locker and put the combination in. I was so busy putting things in my locker to notice that the 'YERM' squad loud ass mouths. I swear these niggas always arguing about something...

"Damn Scar, you looking good on this fine morning." a voice compliments me.

I turn around and see it was Pq flirting with me again, I smiled at him.

"Why thank you Phaquan, you don't look too bad yourself." I teased while checking him out.

He blushes which I thought was so cute, THE YERM SQUAD started hyping him up. But Melo was the only one that stayed quiet for some reason. He's never quiet, ever. I close my locker shut. I decided to show the whole gang my schedule and see if they can help me out on finding them.

"Damn Scar, you got everyone class with at least one of us in them." Gelo says to me.

"Cool! y'all can each walk me to class, i don't know where shit is."

A light skinned girl walks up to Eli and gives him a peck on the lips. This was ole girl that was at the court with them, i knew she was at least dating one of these niggas. Not saying she has to be dating any of them, you can be friends with a nigga without dating or fucking them.

Ole girl turns away from Eli and gives me a smile. I made sure the smile wasn't fake and give her one right back.

"Hi, I'm Vin. I'm Melo and Gelo's cousin."

I can stop calling her ole girl now

She brings me into a hug which caught me off Guard a bit, my arms stayed to my side as she gives me a little squeeze before letting go.

"Finally Vin you let the poor girl go." Melo says while chuckling.

Vin just gives him the bird, she turns her focus right back to me.

"Sorry, I'm a hugger."

"You don't have to apologize, it's fine. I'm Scar by the way."

"Oooo, I like that name. Scar. You are my new best friend." she says excitedly.

The bell doesn't ring til 9:30 and it was only 8:45. The whole Yerm decided to just go to the gym and sit. I didn't think I was coming til Vin dragged me with her.

Vin and I watched the boys shoot hoops before class, I decided to make conversation and get to know my new bestie.

"So, how long you and Eli been together?" I asked her.

"We've been together for 8 months now, best 8 months of my life." she replies back.

I gave her an awe look. I'm a sucker for romance, I fucking love when other people are happy in their relationships.

"So, did you have a boyfriend back at your old state?" Vin asks me. I shook my head no at her, I didn't really have time for boys.

"No, boys wasn't my main priority." I answered her.

We kept talking and getting to know each other while the boys were arguing about who won or not.

"Melo! Melo? Hello? I'm talking to you!?"

I turned my head to see who's annoying voice that was, I see a girl with two other girls with her. The girl that was yelling Melo's name stomps over to him, Melo looked annoyed.

"What the fuck you want Ashley?" He sighs.

Ashley is it? who the fuck is Ashley?

It was like Vin was in my head or something cause she gave me an answer to my own question.

"That is Ashley Alvano, Melo's recent ex girlfriend. She's such a bitch, nobody in the Yerm even fucking likes her. I don't fucking like her." She rants on...

"Her and I use to be 'Best Friends til the end!' til you tried to sleep with Eli behind my back. That's why Melo and her ain't together no more, she tired to get with the whole Yerm bro."

I turn my attention back to Melo and Ashley arguing about something in the middle of the gym. The bell rang which interrupted the whole show.

Vin and I walked with the Yerm out of the gym. Melo dismisses Ashley telling her to "leave him the fuck alone" and scram.

"So, who do I have class with right now?" I asked the squad.

I had my schedule in my hand but Melo snatched it from me.

"Well, well I guess we got 1st,4th, and 6th hour together Lil red hot." Melo says to me.

PAUSE. Did this nigga just call me Lil Red Hot?

"Nigga didn't you just give me another nickname?" I asked him.

"Can you even say nigga, nigga?" Melo fires back at me.

"Duh, my daddy was black as hell." I answered.

Melo's face softens after I said what I said.

"Was?" he asks confusedly.

The Yerm was long gone by now on their own class rooms but it's taking Melo and I forever to get to ours since it's all the way across school grounds.

"Yes.. was. He died two years ago, he got killed in a shooting."

I hated talking about my dad to other people, makes it feel real for me that he's not here anymore. I didn't realize I was crying til Melo wipes a tear off my cheek with his thumb.

I looked away from the floor and up at him.

"I'm sorry about your Father."
