《OUTSIDERS || MAKI ZENIN.》You'll be safe now

"I'm tired of seeing your face."
Yuta was backed up at a corner. He was surrounded by his bullies and when he looked around to find an opening, none were present. He was trapped and so he fell down and held onto his knees.
"Oh, look at you, acting like a coward without your new friend around." He puts a fist directly at his face, "Let's just get this over with before he sees you."
Yuta panics when he's about to blow another punch at his cheek. He holds onto it before screaming,
"Rika?" The main bully asked before the vengeful spirit wraps her hands over his eyes, wrecking havoc.
Tamaki ran upstairs to hear a loud commotion. A mix of horrified screams and tears shed as he enters the room, only to stand there, completely stunned. All those bullies that tried to hurt Yuta are all forced into a locker.
Blood spilling out of it.
"T-Tamaki.." Yuta breathed out. His eyes widened to see his new friend stare at him with shock. He whimpered,
Yuta tried to come up with an explanation, anything. But his body froze to the bone to see the same face everyone makes whenever they stare at him, like he was a monster.
"You don't have to say anything, Yuta.." Tamaki says firmly. "I know what you are."
Yuta's eyes stitch together as they close. He waits to hear him call him the worst names possible but instead, Tamaki comes closer. Rika even becomes hostile to his movements but she then relents, when a hand comes forward.
Yuta opens his eyes again to see a warm smile on Tamaki's face. The taller boy bends over to put his hand out,
"You're so many things, but no monster. You're misunderstood. There's pain in your heart, I can feel it. And also, you're a boy who has an extraordinary gift."
"G-Gift?" He starts to shake his head, "N-N-No, it isn't! This gift you call it, Tamaki, is a curse if anything."
Tamaki frowns,
"Even so, I can help you harness that power. I can help you hone, Rika, was it?" Rika made herself present in front of Tamaki. She did not know what to make of him, friend or foe. But the continuation of his warm presence made her docile and unable to unleash her violent actions on him.
"W-Who are you?" Yuta asked.
"I'm Tamaki Hatsumi. Your friend..and a fellow jujutsu sorcerer."
"Sorcerer?!"
"Yes, I exorcise spirits and help cases such as yourself. Now please..please let me help you, Yuta."
He stares at him mouth agape after the revelation. He then stares at his knees that quiver so much, he snaps.
"N-No, you can't help me! Don't you see? I killed them!" He points at the bloody locker. He looks around to see an empty desk with a pair of scissors placed on top of it. He gulps before staggering towards it. He grabs the clips tightly and Tamaki gasped. He immediately runs to him but Yuta tries to dig the pair into his heart but Rika doesn't let him.
She never lets him. She breaks the scissors and throws it across the room as Tamaki grabs Yuta by his arms. The boy screams, tears stinging his eyes as he yelled.
"N-No, please! I don't deserve to live. I killed those people and I'm only going to kill more if I continue!" He sobs, "I-I can't live."

" He shouts and Tamaki stays silent, holding on to him tightly. He rocks him a bit when his cries start to soften a bit. He felt an unusual comfort by him holding him by his arms. They then turn to an embrace.
"I don't know much of the details, Yuta, but whatever that hurts you so, I'm so sorry." His voice cracks against his shoulder. "You've been through a lot..and you think that the only way to stop it is to die, right?"
"But Yuta, I don't want you to die."
He hiccups, "Y-You don't even know me."
"I know enough that your life is precious. Rika or not, you're an amazing person and honestly, the world would be less great if you weren't in it."
Silence lingers afterwards. He still holds him tightly in case he tries to hurt himself again, but Yuta lets his head drop from exhaustion and take the words in. He slowly whispers,
"O-Okay, Tamaki. I-I'll stay.."
The sorcerer smiles at his answer.
"Thank god...thank god"
'Don't worry Yuta, you'll be safe now.'
-
"So, he tried to kill himself with this?" Gojo asked looking at the twisted pair of scissors. Tamaki and Gojo were talking about Yuta over at Jujutsu high. Yuta had his face on his hands as he sat in a lone chair.
"Yes but Rika, that curse bound to him, stopped him." Tamaki explained. "It even managed to stuff those kids all in a tight locker.." He scrunched his face, remembering the bloody sight and the slight whimpers he heard inside of it.
They turned out not to be dead but they would have life changing damage in their bodies. Yuta was devastated.
"The elders want him dead, you know?" Gojo stuffed his pockets. "They think he's a threat."
"He's no threat, sensei." He looks down to his feet. "I-I believe the spirit can be tamed. If we just make a good presence, it will not harm anyone. Or if Yuta takes initiative, that could work too.."
"You got evidence that'll work?"
"Well..when I approach Rika, she does not attack. When Yuta feels ease, so does she. I-I think she trusts me."
Gojo puts a finger to his chin to think. He then looks at Yuta who mutters words to himself.
"R-Rika didn't let me kill myself.." He moans with dark circles staring directly at Gojo. The teacher even flinches at the ghastly sight.
"Geez, he's really gloomy, huh?" He says and then a smile forms on his face. He points gun fingers at Tamaki,
"Alright, Hatsumi, if you really think he's got the potential, then I'll leave you in his care. I'll help out too but I think if you show him the ropes, that'll be great!"
Tamaki smiles so happily. He jumps at the news before walking over at Yuta. He grabs his hands outta his face,
"Isn't that great, Yuta! You get to join the school now."
"I don't want to." He shakes his head and the boy pouts in return.
"Come on, Okkotsu." Gojo walks over to them. "Your power can do some good for many lives..after that, then you can decide what you want to do for yourself."
--
"Eh? A new classmate. I don't know, Tamaki, he sounds a bit like a punk." Maki frowns after her boyfriend told her the news of Yuta Okkotsu. That mission never settled for her. For instance, she did not like how only Tamaki was assigned to it and that this spirit installed in the boy could pose a risk towards him.

She lets out a sigh, relieved the spirit never harmed Tamaki. She would've made it pay.
Tamaki puts a slight arm around her as she crosses her arms,
"Hey, just talk to him first." He advises with a smile. "S-Sure he can be a bit spooky but I promise you, he's genuinely sweet and shy too."
"Hmph." She says to herself.
"Salmon." Toge agrees with her.
"You're mustard leaf ( concerned ) too, Toge?" Tamaki gasped.
"Tuna Mayo." He narrows his eyes before turning away, dismissing his excuse.
'So everyone's just wary of the guy, huh?' He then turns to see Gojo enter the classroom. "Well, hopefully Yuta can prove them wrong."
"Tamaki is right, Maki. Just try to be nice to him."
"It's fine, I'll just give him the silent treatment." She nearly whispers the last part. Tamaki looks at her with a chuckle, a sweat drop down his forehead.
"Always so stubborn." He teases and Maki nudges his shoulder a bit,
"This is a special case we're talking about, Tamaki. I'm surprised you didn't get your head chopped trying to negotiate with him.."
He shrugs,
"What can I say? I have this odd attraction that lures these type of cases~"
"Heh. Yeah, this and the first spirit that tried to kill you before meeting you." She cocks her head out of humor. "There was a second one too later on, huh?"
"Oh gosh." He rolls his eyes, remembering the times he got bodied left and right by those spirits.
He looked away out of embarrassment but then he feels a cold hand tracing his chin. He looks to see Maki with a smile on her face,
"Don't worry though. If he or that spirit he got in him try anything funny, I won't let him touch you. That and he's gone."
Tamaki blushes,
"M-Maki.."
"Can we not do this now?" Panda broke the growing warmth between them. "I'm bored! Now just bring him over. He can't be that bad, can he?"
"Yutaaa, come on out! Everyone wants to see your lovely face." Gojo chimes with a grin. The doors to the class slowly slide out. "He's cursed by Rika, his childhood friend who loves him dearly!"
The boy walks in and immediately everyone but Gojo and Tamaki turns hostile.
He tries to stop his girl but she doesn't hesitate to quickly stab her naginata against the chalkboard while Panda and Toge gang up on him by the sides.
"What is this? He's literally curse. Here, we exorcise them, not put them under our wing.."She retorts, giving a menacing look at Yuta. "And you..you're too dangerous."
"Salmon." Toge says so coldly.
"Settle down guys!" Gojo exclaims. "I'd step away if I were you."
Suddenly, hands form around Yuta.
The spirit roars and everyone takes a step back.
"Try to do anything she'll be activated.." Gojo warns. Maki lowers her weapon down and everyone puts their guard down.
"Too late." She scoffs before returning to the side of Tamaki.
"Now let me introduce these peeps to you, Yuta." Gojo points at Maki,
"That girl who just threatened you is curse weapons user, Maki Zenin!"
"Just Maki." She corrects and Tamaki chuckles.
"There's curse speech user, Inumaki Toge." He points at the other first-year. "He only speaks in rice ball ingredients."
The boy waves at him. He then looks over at the panda.
"Then there's Panda. Lastly-"
'Wait, that's it?!' Yuta shouts internally.
"Nice to meet you." The animal greets.
"Lastly, you already know him, but there's Tamaki Hatsumi!" He smiles at the other raven hair boy. "He's also the son of one of the best sword users here in Jujutsu high. Though he's not grouchy like his father.."
"Glad you're here, yuta." He smiles and Yuta slightly smiles back. Happy to see a familiar face.
Four humans and one animal, marking it the first-year class.
"This'll be interesting." Tamaki grins as Maki stares at him.
"Or it'll be a bad idea." She scoffs and Tamaki pats her shoulder a bit.
"Aw come on, Maki. You ended up trusting me, right?"
"That was different." She explains, "We're dealing a bigger threat."
He intertwines their hands together,
"I know it's a little strange..but try to help him out a bit. I know he's a good person deep down. A good person who can do great things with those powers."
"Hm..we'll see. I just hope he ain't a threat." She looks at the cowardly boy who had his back pressed on the chalkboard, trying to digest his new life as a new sorcerer.
-
Yuta barely brought his belongings when he came to Jujutsu high. His room was a bit dull, to say the least. The only inviting thing was the bed that seemed comfortable than the one back home, along with the nice vanity that stood close to his window.
He felt he had to thank Tamaki for comforting him a day ago. He gains the courage to get out of his room and walk over to the end of the hallway. He knocks at his door but no response.
He slightly shakes the knob a bit and see that it's unlock. He opens the door and looks at awe to see the nice decor around his room. He looks at it for a second before closing the door again.
He would ask Toge but he could not understand him and feared he'll annoy him. Panda had no room.
"Maybe Maki knows where he is.." He says to himself before walking over to her side.
Her door is open slightly and he can see the inside through the creaks.
He hears a laugh coming out of her lips and lots of rustling in the bed sheets. Yuta raises an eyebrow, wondering what's she is doing.
He wants to knock but fears he will disturb her if he does. The sounds continue and Yuta bends down to look through the gap of light.
Red blooms over his cheeks when he sees an unexpected scene transpire in front of him.
'Tamaki and Maki!..they're..'
He had no idea until now.
Maki was settled on top of Tamaki's lap in her bra and shorts. She stood on her knees, stooping over Tamaki. Her hand tilts his neck a bit before kissing it down. He lets out a hiss seconds after, his eyes shut tight from the sudden action.
"Ngh..Maki!" He gasped out when she bites him playfully, leaving her mark there. The two have their eyes meet before she devours his lips and he tags along, the two making out so passionately against the bed. Her hand crawled her way under his muscle tee, playing with muscled chest before he pulls them down to bed.
The two kiss and at one point, Tamaki eyes his corner and they go wide.
Yuta walked in one them and he releases his lips away from Maki's. She turns to see where he's staring and immediately she gets angry.
"You freakin pervert! Don't you know how to knock!" She yelled. She went up to bring Yuta in by the collar. She didn't care if he witnessed her the way she looked, but it disturbed her that the boy lingered there for so long.
"Geez, how long were you planning on watching?" She sneered.
"T-The door wasn't fully closed. I-I was just looking for Tamaki and I saw and realize, that it was a bad moment-"
"Oh really.." She narrows her eyes even more until Tamaki pulls her away from Yuta. He looks at her with concern,
"Hey, Maki, it's okay. It's okay.." He tried to calm down. "If anything, it should be my fault. I thought I closed the door completely."
"Even so, he shouldn't h-"
"I wasn't stalking, I swear-"
"I just wanted to thank Tamaki about what he did for me. I-I'm sorry that I came in the wrong time."
"It's okay, Yuta." Tamaki sighs, rubbing his shoulder. He then looks at his girlfriend,
"Let me go talk to him outside, okay?" Maki looks at him for one moment. She sighs and kisses him on the cheek,
"Okay but come back when you're done." She whispers. Yuta is surprised to see this soft demeanor on her face when she looks at Tamaki. He smiles and kisses her back, nodding at that.
Those two have a history, Yuta thinks before the two walk out after Tamaki puts some pants on before walking outside.
The two sat on a bench near the front entrance of the dorms.
"I-I'm so sorry, Tamaki. I didn't mean to bother you guys.."
"I said it's okay, Yuta." He reassures for the fifth time already.
"So..you guys are together?"
Tamaki grins,
"Yeah, nearly over a year. Can you believe that?"
After watching that display, he does. But he can't fathom how someone like Tamaki was someone with Maki. Two polar opposites.
"Don't take offense to her. To be honest, she is always like that with newcomers.." He laughs,
"Especially with me back in the day. The first day I met her, she couldn't trust me. But after telling her that she could kick my ass, she put her guard down. Bit by bit, she began to trust me.."
"How'd you guys meet?" Yuta asked and Tamaki smiles,
"That's a long story." He explains, "But after I joined as a sorcerer, we officially began to date. It had its highs but sometimes, she got mad over how poorly I did in the first few missions..but I guess she was really worried.."
In the gap prior meeting Yuta, Tamaki struggled. In his first few missions, he met near death encounters or caused destruction on few properties. Sometimes, Maki would get mad or give him the silent treatment over it.
Yeah, those days were hard but he doesn't regret it.
Tamaki begins to tell him those days, in hopes this will motivate Yuta that he too can strive.

Pawns of God
Five Lines PitchJoin Mark in his fight against a God and change the game's destiny! Delve into a slow-paced story focused on the progression of the main party and the development of the world. Mark himself will be narrating his life inside the game, and to a much lesser extend outside. Guild building, economy, and strategy are the central pieces of the novel. Mark is not overpowered, he will have to build his own power through action-packed battles, trials, traumas, love, and death. Accompany him, the healer and the strategist, an agent of chaos, in the adventure of his life. Without further preamble, I will let Mark take the mic. SynopsisHi! My name is Mark. This is my story, my life as I live it day after day. I’m in my thirties, and there’s nothing I love more than playing online games. I’ve just joined the action on the newest VRMMO game, Pawns of God. An immersive experience you can play while sleeping. Of course, as a game that takes pride in its long development and technological advances, everything inside seems and feels real. Beware, this is not a game-turns-real story. I love my own world and I would detest being summoned into another one. If that ever happens, I’ll just quickly take my life and be done with it. I play with my friends, in a party of 5. We have taken several roles, but lately, I've come to love being a healer. It's my secret ambition to someday be the shotcaller. I am not overpowered. If there is any bug or exploit in the game, they are yet to be discovered. Anyhow, for a game of this scale, the company is pouring all of its resources into test servers, QA, and beta tests. I don’t expect to find any, so I’ll be playing the game just like any other person. I must say, though, I am easily distracted, as you will immediately notice once you start. I'm working on it, I promise to improve! I am no hero. Being in my 30s, my heart is too old for this shit. I wouldn’t mind being one, of course. Who hasn’t dreamt of it? Either way, I’m not doing any grand quest to save the world. Whatever the game throws to their users, I’ll be there to experience it. Most of my life, at least the interesting parts that I’ll be narrating, happen inside the game itself. Rarely, there will be some IRL (In Real Life) chapters. You’ll understand, however, that as a freelance software developer, there is not much I can entertain you with when outside the game. Did I say I love games? Well, I’m also a fan of LitRPG literature. You know, journeys of magic, relationships, personal development, items, skills, discovery… In the spirit of not overwhelming my public, I’ll condense each chapter into circa 1500 words. You might have noticed some tags over this story, let me elaborate. I like to swear. I’m not shy when it comes to cursing my enemies, friends, or even myself. When there’s blood, I tell it as I see it. And… it hurts to admit it, but I’m not a casanova. Of course, this doesn’t mean that I won’t ever find love. So, in case I do end up finding it, let’s keep my sexual options open. As for traumas, none yet, but the future is vast and unknown. Release Schedule The schedule is subject to change, particularly if enough readers end up loving it. All chapters are already written, thus there is enough freedom to modify them. Arc 1 * Chapters 1-14: Each released one day and an hour later than the previous. Starting with chapter 2 at 09:20 UTC+2 on day 1, and finishing at 21:20 UTC+2 on day 13.
