Y/n goes to the courtyard for training that night. She still feels awful, but she just hopes they don't notice.

"Y/n! We were waiting! Come on, you gotta get better at time management!" Kaito says

"Sorry.. so what are we doing?"

"Well.. actually.. today, why don't us four just talk instead?"

"Talk.? About what?" Maki asks

"Stupid! Nobody decides what they talk about before they start talking!" Kaito grins. "Well.. let's go find somewhere to sit."

He chooses a random spot and they all sit down.

"So.. what do you guys wanna talk about?" He says.

"Didn't you say we shouldn't decide beforehand?" Shuichi says

"Well I'm asking now.! Hmm.. let's talk about Maki."

"Me.? Why me?" Maki says

"Because there's a lot we don't know about you.! Like what's your favourite blood type."

"Don't you mean what's my blood type?"

"Oh.. I had something I wanted to ask. When you said you were the Ultimate Child Caregiver, why was that?" Shuichi asks

"..I've already told Y/n most of the story, so she knows.. but I grew up in an orphanage. Kids just.. liked me for some reason. And then these men started showing up, they seemed like nice people, just watching the kids play. They were probably just scouting out for talents." Maki says.

"That's why they chose you then?" Kaito asks

"I didn't want to go.. but they would donate a huge sum of money to the orphanage if I did. Ever since that day I trained to become an assassin. Training was difficult.. I vomited every day and cried every night. After a while.. my heart gradually became empty. Each job that I had.. I got number and number. Until I just.. felt nothing anymore." Maki sighs deeply after finishing.

Y/n looks at her sadly, all this.. burden she's been carrying for so long. And she never got to open up until just now.

"There. That wasn't that interesting after all.."

"Jeez.. you're carrying too many burdens for someone so small. Don't try to shoulder things on your own, you gotta trust people. And thanks to training, you finally started feeling again!" Kaito says

"..I started feeling again when I met Y/n and fell in love.. but.. maybe training helped.." Maki smiles a bit

Y/n smiles and chuckles.

"Nice one Y/n!" Kaito laughs and high fives her.

They all just talk about mindless stuff. It's the first time they had proper fun here.. they can just forget about the killing, just for a bit.

The following day is as normal as a killing game gets.. Y/n spends all day in her lab, looking through all the books about conspiracies and testing all the cameras.

Then, at nighttime once she's getting ready to go to training, the doorbell rings.

She opens it.. and surprisingly, Miu is there.

"Miu? What are you doing here?"

"Well.. I figured I'd forgive you for not wanting to fuck me all that time ago, and give you a second chance! Well? You in!?"

"Thank you, but I'm okay."

"Hmph.. another thing! Your ass is hella suspicious! I was just thinking about it.. and you know when Korekiyo was talking about all that bullshit.. and then he was saying something about you having a 'forbidden love'. What was he talking about!?"

"Uhm.. I don't know.. he was crazy.. he didn't know what he was saying."

"Oh don't even give me that! You and your buddy buddies are hiding something!"

"S-Seriously.. it's nothing.." Y/n looks down

"Just tell me already! What could possibly-" She pauses midway through her sentence, as if something just clicked in her head. "Oh.. Oh! Ohhh! HAHAHAHA!" She bursts into laughter.

"What.!?"

"It all makes sense now! You're a big old lesbian! Aren't you!? Hahah! You can't hide anything from the gorgeous girl genius Miu Iruma!"

"Um.. I.. Um.. I'm.. I'm not.." Y/n stumbles on her words nervously

"But.. if you like girls.. why don't you wanna fuck me!?"

"..." Y/n just stares at her.

"Welp! Don't worry! Cus your secret is safe with me! Oh, and also, I figured out a way to escape. So go to the computer room on the 4th floor." She leaves the room.

Y/n just stands in confusion for a second. How could she say something so important so calmly.!?

She decides to try and brush it off, and goes to the 4th floor.

When she arrives everybody is already there.

"So.. is there actually a way to escape?" Maki asks

"Yeah.. this seems kinda fishy.." Himiko says

"Of course there is! Geniuses like me never make mistakes!" Miu yells

"Well what is it?" Shuichi says

"We're going to another world!"

"..A what?" Keebo says

"You see that big ass computer? This device here connects to the computer.. it uploads your consciousness so you can go into this world created by a computer program!"

"O-Oh! Gonta get it.. exit is in kon-poo-ter.. so we have to open it and go in?" Gonta says

"No! You'll break it.!"

"So it's virtual reality?" Maki asks

"It's more than that.. it's a whole virtual world. Well.. let's go!"

"Go.. into the virtual world?" Kaito says

"Yeah! Let's all go together!" Miu shouts enthusiastically

"No way!" Himiko says

"..I think we should go.." Y/n mumbles

"What? It's clearly dangerous!" Kaito says

"Well.. Miu's smart, right? She wouldn't ruin her reputation by putting us in danger.. and plus, isn't it so cool? Going into a virtual world?"

"Of course you would say that.! You probably think we're already in a virtual world!" Tsumugi says

"I mean.." Y/n chuckles a little. "But really, I'm gonna go. Even if nobody else does."

"Hmph.. as much as I don't want to go.. I trust Y/n's judgement." Kaito scoffs

After a little longer of debating.. everyone finally gives up and decides they'll go too. Everyone sits down in one of the chairs and takes what looks like some sort of headset.

"There two ports on the back.. put the red cord in the right, and the blue in the left. Don't mess it up!" Miu says

Y/n holds her two hands into L shapes to double check, then does as Miu told everyone

Then, she puts on the headset. And almost instantly, she sees a whole new world.

It looks like quite an old room. A few others appear, these must be the avatars she was talking about. They look pretty similar to the actual person.

"So.. this is the virtual world?" Kaito says

"These graphics are really disappointing. How is this better than the real world?" Himiko says, clearly annoyed.

"This is impressive.! I can move my body like normal.. and I don't even have to worry about that thing now.." Y/n says happily

"What thing?" Shuichi asks

"..Oops. Anyway, where are the others?"

At that moment, Maki appears. She looks to the sides for a second, then says. "I want to go back."

"That was quick.." Shuichi says

Next Gonta and Kokichi appear.

"Oooh.. so this is the virtual world.. I see.." Kokichi nods, then goes up to Keebo, and hits him

"Ouch!"

"So even our senses are connected! Wow!"

Miu finally appears, then she starts explaining everything, like how the avatars can feel pain, but it'll leave no damage to the actual bodies, and how to log out, you just say your name into the phone.

She also shows everyone the map, and the wall of where you can't go any further. Kokichi and Gonta both leave to go look for some sort of secret that Monokuma supposedly set up in the virtual world.

They all go onto the roof to have a better look around.

"It's snowing! I'm starting to like this place.." Y/n leans down and starts to touch the snow, it feels real.. scarily real.

"..You can act like a child sometimes." Maki says

After looking around on the roof, they go to the river, there's a bridge but it's not long enough to get over, so they simply get the sign and use that.

Then.. as they continue walking forward, something strange happens. It's almost as if they lose consciousness halfway through walking, then end up somewhere else.

"Huh? What was that? What just happened?" Himiko says

"It's like.. I passed out or something!" Kaito says

"It was almost like.. loading." Tsumugi says

"Correct! Four-eyes is right, it's the map's loading point! No sound or vision can get through the loading point!" Miu says, and leads the group to the chapel straight ahead.

The chapel is very messy, it reminds Y/n of herself.

"Okay, well now you've seen everything, we should split up to look around." Miu orders

"Split up? So who's going where?" Keebo asks

"I'll decide.. cus I know this place best. Kaito, you search the roof, and Kokichi, you search the salon. The rest of you.. I don't know." Miu shrugs

"This isn't a very good plan.." Himiko says

"I want to search the mansion. And Y/n's coming too." Maki says quite sternly

"What? Oh, okay then." Y/n says

"So.. Shuichi.. you and I should also have mansion duty.. and then the rest of you investigate this side." Tsumugi says

"..Fine by me." Shuichi says

The group going to the mansion side go over the bridge, and as soon as they do, Miu knocks the sign over, so that they're stuck on that side.

"Ah! What are you doing!?" Tsumugi exclaims

"Oops.! Sorry, my hand slipped! My bad!" She runs off before anyone can ask anymore questions.

"Tch! That girl is so much trouble.. anyway, let's go to the mansion. It's not our problem." Kokichi says, and brushes it off very calmly.

Once they get into the mansion, they go over who's going where.

"Gonta and Kaito are gonna check the mansions surroundings and rooftop. I'll go to the salon, so can the plain pair, Tsumugi and Shuichi go plainly check the kitchen? And then Y/n and Maki can just look around the general mansion area." Kokichi says, and everyone seems to agree, then they all split up to their assigned places.

"Right.. so we should start looking in this hall-" Y/n begins once it's just her and Maki alone in the hallway.

"Y/n, I think we should go back."

"..What?"

"This whole thing just.. feels off. I don't like it. And also, we can have some peace and quiet to ourselves for once."

"But.. I want to stay here."

"It's still too risky.. I have a feeling something's gonna happen. I just know it."

"You.. mean.. like a murder?"

Maki nods.

Y/n sighs and looks down for a second. "I mean.. you're probably right.. but I still don't wanna go back."

"Why.?"

"..I don't know.."

"Y/n. Do you trust me?"

"Y-Yeah.."

"Then we have to go."

"..Even if we wanted to, we can't. Kokichi's in there."

Maki just goes straight up to the salon door, and walks in. After a short wait, Y/n suddenly loses vision, then she feels like she's waking up.

She takes off the headset and covers her eyes with her forearm.. the light is pretty bright.

Once she can see again, she sees Maki taking off her headset.

"..Huh? How'd I get logged out?" Y/n asks

"I just pressed the button on the side of your head."

"Oh.. right." She looks around at everyone , it's weird, they all look so.. lifeless. "But we didn't even tell the others we were going.. what if they wonder why we left?"

"They don't need to know we logged out.. we can log back in soon and they'll never find out."

"..Alright.. what now?"

"Come on." She stands up from her chair and walks out, then Y/n follows her. They walk down, not really knowing where they're going, but it's quite nice to have the entire place to theirselves.

Just in case someone else logs out and comes looking for them, they go and sit a little behind the school, near the boiler room.

"I still liked it there.." Y/n mutters

"Why? It was awful.. there was nothing."

"Yeah but.. I don't know.. it felt safer. Like we didn't have to worry about anything."

"Seriously? It's Miu we're talking about. Do you really think she planned this out to help us?"

"..I guess. Does that mean something will happen to the others?"

"As long as it's not you.. I don't care."

"What about Kaito and Shuichi?"

"..Of course I don't want them to die.. and I'd be sad if they did, but ultimately it doesn't matter unless it's you."

Y/n sighs. "So you really think that we'll get out of here? Together?"

Maki nods.

"Does that mean you'll kill someone?"

"..If it comes to that."

"No. Maki. You can do whatever you want but you are not killing anybody. Not even Kokichi." Y/n turns to Maki, but Maki just looks away

"Why do you care so much.? I've killed loads of people before. You know that.."

"Because these are our classmates.! Maki.. you have to promise me.. you aren't going to kill anyone.."

"..Whatever. Fine."

Y/n turns back to face forward and they sit in silence for a minute.

"Sorry.. I know you're just trying to help." Y/n says

"..."

"Maki.?"

"Killing is all I'm good at. It's the only way I can help. So if I can't kill, there's nothing I can do. You can come up with accurate theories.. Shuichi can investigate.. Kaito's good at motivating, but what do I do? I'm not important in doing anything to help."

Y/n leans in and kisses her, it lasts a little longer than last time, as it's not a surprise anymore.

"You're important to me, I wouldn't be able to do anything if you weren't here. So.. don't do anything stupid. If you die.. I'll have nothing." Y/n says once she pulls away

"I'm not going to die.. not until I get us both out of here."

Y/n smiles and leans on Maki's shoulder, they sit there and just talk about random things.. maybe making out a little too.

After who knows how long.. a body discovery announcement plays on one of the nearby monitors.

Y/n and Maki both rush back to the computer room.. and see.. Miu. Dead in her chair.
