《Maki Harukawa x female reader ❀》3

She's woken up by the monitors turning on and telling everyone it's morning.
Y/n groans and rubs her eyes. Why does it have to be so early?
She stretches and gets out of bed. She puts a shirt and coat on, then goes to the bathroom to check her bandage. It seems fine for now, she takes off the blood soaked bandage and puts it in the trash, it's stopped bleeding so much and her hair mostly covers it.
She gets the survivor perk from under the pillow and puts it in her pocket. Everyone is probably at the dining hall.
She arrives while everybody is mid conversation. Kaede is apologising.. or something along those lines.
"Why are you always late, Y/n? Hmm? What could you possibly be hiding? Only Atua knows.!" Angie giggles
"Sorry. I got distracted. What are we talking about?"
"I think we should try thinking of some other way to escap-" Kaede begins
"Before you get into that, I have an announcement!" Monokuma suddenly appears and interrupts Kaede
"Aaaaah!" Kaede shrieks
"H-Hey! Don't sneak up on us like that!" Tsumugi shouts
"Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to not surprise you. But I need to tell you all my announcement! I am going to give you, motivation to kill! Or you could say a motive for short.."
"Motivation to kill?" Maki repeats.
"Ahem, now then, the special motive I've prepared for you all, is the First Blood Perk! For the first murder that happens, there will be no class trial! Wow! Which means they will get to graduate, no strings attached!"
"So we just have to kill someone to get out of here!? That's all!?" Miu says
"First Blood Perk? Don't make it sound like some gameshow prize!" Tenko shouts
"Puhuhu.. but that's basically what it is, right?"
"Enough. It's not going to work. If you think I'd kill someone to get out of here, you're out of your mind!" Kaede says
"Yeah! Exactly!" Kaito says "I've had enough of this.." Kaito starts to run up to Monokuma, but the Monokubs suddenly appear to stop him.

"Finally! We get to use the Exisals!" Monophanie says excitedly
"Hell yeah! We've been waiting for this one!" Monokid yells, and the Exisals appear in front of them, but instead of going for Kaito, they hit Monokuma by mistake.
The Monokubs wail for a bit, then leave.
"What's going on.?" Tsumugi asks
"Welp. Monokuma's gone, which means the killing game is cancelled!" Kokichi says
"Cancelled!?" Gonta says
"Yay! We did it! Nyahaha!" Angie laughs
"So.. do we just wait for someone to pick us up? Or.?" Tsumugi says
"W-Wait.. We don't know that yet-" Kaede says
"Quit being such a buzzkill! We're still annoyed at you about what you did to us yesterday!" Kokichi whines
"But I didn't mean it like that-"
"Or.. is there more you would rather us do?" Korekiyo says
"Don't tell me you wanna make us do that underground passage again!?" Miu shouts
"Quiet. We know it's impossible." Maki replies
"S-Sorry.." Kaede says under her breath.
"Actually, I think there's something else we gotta do before the killing game is really cancelled.." Kokichi says, and everyone turns to look at him. "Kill the person controlling Monokuma!"
"You mean the mastermind? We don't know who that is." Rantaro says
"Yes we do. Her!" He point straight at Y/n and grins.
"..What?"
"Who else could it be? She's so fishy! She probably dropped that bomb on herself so she would look less suspicious.. and she's one of those conspiracy theory weirdos, you can never trust those guys."
"..." Y/n just stands there nervously while the whole group has a look on their faces that shows they think Kokichi is right. "..I'm going."
She quickly leaves the room before anyone can ask her anything more.
Y/n walks around the school until she finds an empty classroom. She makes sure nobody is around before going in and sitting on one of the desks. She takes out the survivor perk and looks through it. There's no way to get to the other floors, but there is one place she can go, the hidden room behind the library. She puts the Monopad back in her coat pocket. She casually walks down to the library, checking to make sure no one is anywhere near.

She stares up and down at the Monopad and the bookshelf. There's no door. Is this a mistake?
She goes up to the bookshelf and inspects it, she sees a small gap between the middle bookshelf and the side one, so she pulls on it.. and the bookshelf starts to open like a door.
Y/n smiles proudly, but then sees the other door behind it. It's black and white and has a keycard next to it. She inspects it, but she doesn't notice anything out of the ordinary. That's probably Shuichi's speciality.
"What do you think you're doing?" She hears a voice behind her, her heart drops in fear. She quickly puts the Monopad in her pocket and turns around. She sees Maki standing at the door.
"Oh! Uhm.. Maki.. I was.. Um.. this looks.. really suspicious, doesn't it.?" She chuckles awkwardly
"Yes. It does. You've been suspicious from the start, so when you sneak down to the library all alone, I can't imagine you just wanted to read."
"Look.. I don't.. I was just looking around.. a-and I found this.. do you.. think.. I'm the mastermind?" She starts panicking a little. If Maki tells the others, they'll all gang up against her.
"No. I honestly don't think someone.. like you.. could pull off organising all this. Or you're a great actor."
"..."
"I don't know what you're doing or what you know, but I'm not going to let you get away with anything. So don't try it. Do you understand?" Maki glares at her, like she wants to murder her.
Y/n nods, clearly very intimidated.
"...What is that?" Maki points to the black and white door behind the bookshelf.
"I don't know.. I was just trying to find that out.." Y/n says, still nervous about Maki.
"Whatever it is.. I suggest you don't tell anyone about it."
"Y-Yeah.. there's obviously someone that has to use it.. the mastermind. This proves that they're one of us.."
"What.?"
"Well.. Uhm.. if they were just someone else hiding somewhere in the school, they wouldn't have a secret door pretty much in the open leading to where we are, right? It's got to be one of us so that they can easily get to.. whatever's in there."
"..I see. So they're definitely one of us?"
Y/n nods. She doesn't mention that she has the survivor's perk that she.. borrowed.. from Rantaro's dorm that also says there's a mastermind.
Maki suddenly turns towards the front door of the library. "I can hear talking, someone's coming. Close the door."
Y/n quickly rushes and pushes the bookshelf closed, at that very second, Kaede and Shuichi walk in.
"Y/n? Maki? What are you guys doing in here?" Kaede says
"We were looking for a book about true crime, to see if anything similar to this 'killing game' has happened before." Maki says quickly and calmly
Y/n doesn't say anything, she just looks at Kaede and Shuichi anxiously.
"Kaede and Shuichi obviously have something they need to do here, we should go." Maki looks at Y/n and gestures to the door. Y/n follows Maki out.
"I.. think I'll just stay in my room for now." Y/n says and starts to leave.
"I'll be watching you. Don't try anything or I won't hesitate to snap your neck." Maki says just before she walks up the stairs.
Y/n just nods a little nervously, then goes back up the stairs fairly quickly.
She thinks about how Monokuma was destroyed, but then remembers the survivors perk. 'When Monokuma needs a spare' So all the mastermind has to do is go into the hidden room, and there'll be another Monokuma. She decides not to break everyone's happy spirit. It can wait..

Mother of Learning
Zorian is a teenage mage of humble birth and slightly above-average skill, attending his third year of education at Cyoria's magical academy. He is a driven and irritable young man, consumed by a desire to ensure his own future and free himself of the influence of his family, whom he resents for favoring his brothers over him. Consequently, he has no time for pointless distractions or paying attention to other people's problems. As it happens, time is something he is about to get plenty of. On the eve of the Cyoria's annual summer festival, he is killed and brought back to the beginning of the month, just before he was about to take a train to Cyoria. Suddenly trapped in a time loop with no clear end or exit, Zorian will have to look both within and without to unravel the mystery before him. And he does have to unravel it, for the time loop hadn't been made for his sake and dangers lurk everywhere... Repetition is the mother of learning, but Zorian will have to first make sure he survives to try again - in a world of magic, even a time traveler isn't safe from those who wish him ill. ********************************** If anyone is interested, I have a story-related worldbuilding site that can be found here. I don't update it as often as I should, but there is a fair amount of content there already. It also contains a page with all the fanart, fan translations, audio books and the like - you can reach it directly by clicking this link. I have a patreon account for those kind people that want to give me money. It also contains info for those who want to donate via paypal. The story was originally posted on fictionpress, back in 2011. When I reached chapter 91, I started uploading the story to RoyalRoad, one chapter per day. The story will continue to be updated on fictionpress as well as here, and can be reached by clicking on this link if somebody is interested, though at this point there is nothing there that isn't also on RoyalRoad. ********************************** The cover you see on the side has been made by a fellow RoyalRoad user Sydorow. Molting the Mortal Coil
Reincarnated as a child in a new world a mild mannered programmer, named Sage, finds himself struggling to survive. The road to immortality is paved with danger, treasure, and conflict. This mystical eastern world is filled with Demonic Beasts, Treacherous Cultivators, and Extraordinary Legacies. Follow Sage on his journey to adapt to this new world, and find out if he can overcome the limitations of body, mind, and soul. Will he rise to the occasion and become a hero? Or maybe he'll turn to the dark side and end up a villain? Molting the Mortal Coil is more of a slower paced journey. It's not about endless battles and conquering the next bad guy who spits on the main characters shoes or sends him a funny look. There's also not a treadmill of tournaments or love interests. It's more of a slower burn with lots of, and hopefully not too much, world building. It's still supposed to be stuffed with action, but that won't pick up for a while since we start with a weakling. The first 30 chapters have a lot of time-skipping, but stay with me it gets better. I plan to re-write and add more to the first 30 in the future, but if you can push through I feel it gets much more fun after! Updates will be weekly.
