(( I hope you like this story, I'm trying to take a more serious tone for most of it ))
Britain sat in his office, sad and alone, his top hat was thrown across the room and his head in his gloved hands, dried tears streamed down his face as his took long and deep breaths trying to calm himself down
He heard a knock in at the door
"Go away" he mumbled loud enough that the figure could hear him but quiet enough as to not hurt his dry throat, "...dad?" The voice said, Britain recognised the voice as Canada,
He got up slowly and rubbed both his eyes, he opened the door just enough to see his son but not enough for Canada to see inside the office
"What is it" he said, his voice sounded as if he swallowed a cheese grater, "I just came to tell you Australia made dinner" Britain didn't respond, he looked to the side and glanced at a plate of last nights dinner where America ordered pizza, he only at half a slice, net to it was a
Plate of pancakes Canada made for him for breakfast, Britain let out a small sigh and turned back to Canada who was looking at him with sad hopeful eyes
"Please dad...just come and eat, you didn't have any lunch today" Britain stepped out slowly and closed the door behind him before his son could see inside "ok...I'll come down" this made Canada smile and hug his father,
Britain couldn't help but smile too but Canada broke the hug and ran down the stairs before Brit could hug him back
He followed his son to see his 4 boys sitting at the table, Canada glaring at America and New Zealand holding Australia back from food "Canada said wait for dad" New Zealand said sternly, Australia rolled his eyes "fine kiwi, ill go get us something to drink"

Britain stepped into the room and Canada noticed him first "hey dad!" He waved, Brit smiled and sat next to his son, he looked down at his plate to see what they were eating
"Heh, a Sunday roast on a Saturday?" He said looking at Australia as they walked into the dining room with 5 cups and a bottle of Coke Zero, "mate! I couldn't wait another day", he half joked as he pores his family each a glass of Coke Zero and sat down next to his father, "well it looks delicious son" Brit said with a sad smile as he put a hand on Australia's shoulder making him smile, America frowned and looked at New Zealand "can we eat now" asked Australias twin and Brit just nodded
(Time skip)
After dinner Brit even helped kiwi with the dishes, he glanced to the side and say an angry and sad America looking at him with his sunglasses pulled down to show the daggers in his eyes "dad" he said crossing his arms, kiwi looked at his older brother confused "merica? What's up?"
America held both plates he found in his fathers room, "found some dirty dishes DAD, why haven't you been eating!" Kiwi looked up at his father "dad how long was it when you last ate a full meal" he asked, Brit wanted to be clever and say tonight or even that half a pizza from last night but knew it would get him nowhere, so he resorted to plan B
"What does it matter ok?! I'm stressed and worried, why should I eat and-and- relax when she's gone and who knows what can happen!?!" Britain quickly regretted how he worded that, he wanted to believe it was ok and even more so he didn't want his kids to worry "kiwi mind leaving for a sec bud" America asked his youngest brother, kiwi left without saying a word

"Dad, we're all worried about-" he looked at a photo of the wall
"About mom..." he sighed "but you need to take care of yourself better" Britain looked away from his son in shame "I've-" America started "I've been looking into ways to help you"
"Help!?! America I'm a grown man and I do-"
"Save it for someone dumb enough to believe your shit"
Britain looked at his son taken back and pissed "don't talk to me like that little man, I am your father and you WILL respect me in my house" Britain didn't notice until they ran into his mouth, but he was crying, he wiped his eyes with his fist and looked at his gloved hand "I don't need help" and he walked away heading back to his office, tears still down his face
Before he grabbed the door handle he looked at the wall and say a picture of his happy family, his wife hugging the twins with America on his shoulders and Canada hugs his arm, he also had his arm around his wife and Australia was wearing his top hat, he placed his hand on the picture over where his wife is and let out a sigh with a few more tears running down his face, he opened the door and stepped inside
"I miss you France"
(( the start of my newest fanfic, no x reader this time, I have an actual plot in mind for this book too btw and I hope you like it))

Tales From the Terran Republic
We tried, you know… We really did. We tried so hard to be… better… We actually were better once. No, seriously. We were enlightened, generous, peaceful… Stop laughing! We were! We were peaceful, dammit! No, I’m not “tugging your winglets.” It’s true! Look, if you’re going to be like that, I’ll just push the launch button right now. See ya, don’t wanna be… Oh, you ARE interested after all? Ok. Hey, I just got word that your captain will be ok. We were able to get him into a med pod quick enough… Of course, we tried to save him. Just what sort of people do you think we are?... Now that was harsh… completely accurate, mind you… but harsh. Anyway, like I was saying, we were a prosperous, peaceful people, and war had been nothing but a distant memory for over five hundred years before it happened... Before Yellowstone happened! You don’t mean to tell me that you didn’t know about that… massive supervolcano? Blew the Hell out of our planet? Two years where nothing grew?… Anyway, that’s what started it, the Sol Wars… Oh, you have heard about those, huh? Well, needless to say, all that enlightened, generous, and peaceful didn’t exactly make it through the two years of complete famine and the wars that followed… Maybe it’s more accurate to say the enlightened, generous, and peaceful among us didn’t survive… (laughs)… You’re right. It does explain a lot, doesn’t it? Probably for the best, though. “Enlightened” and “peaceful” aren’t really all that useful out here in the galaxy at large, are they? That reminds me; thanks for the ship. You guys did a great job with this one. Oh, don’t be like that. At least it was us what got you and not one of the really messed groups like the Harlequin or the Black Angels. We’re just going to take your shit. It could be worse… trust me... Well, anyway, we loaded the life pods down with some good food, and you guys can drink alcohol, right? We put in a couple of fifths in there, too. It’s about forty percent ethanol, so be warned. Most species will want to dilute that. We’ll drop your wounded off somewhere safe once they are stable. Your fleet patrols this area fairly regularly, and we’ll drop the distress beacon right before we jump… Well, It’s been fun and no hard feelings, right?… Oh, you want to know some more? Sure. I got time to kill… Let me tell you about this one pirate and her crew. They’re Terran scum, but they are still… Why do we hate the Terrans? Hoo Boy… How much time you got? *** It’s the thirty-second century, and humanity is now part of a galactic civilization comprised of hundreds of worlds. Humanity has been savaged by natural disaster and war and has been fractured into several separate populations, all of which loathe each other (some things never change). This is a gritty drama-driven rambling tale that swings between action, drama, horror, and plenty of very, very dark comedy. Warning: contains adult situations, absolutely horrible language, bathroom humor, implied ultra-violence, actual ultra-violence, drugs, alcohol, pirates, mercs, xeno prostitutes, moral ambiguity, deranged AI's with identity issues, giant commie space slugs, and a poor little frog girl who just wants to sell coffee. Updates twice weekly on Tuesday and Friday. *** Note: This story can get rough. Those warning tags? They aren't for show. I recently received a review and as a result I want to make one thing clear. Portraying something is NOT endorsing it! Many "heavy" topics are touched upon and just because a character says or does something does not imply that the author feels the same way. I selected the "Anti-Hero Lead" and "Villainous Lead" tags for a reason. Rule number one of this story is "no good guys". A good description of the story is, "bad people doing bad things to worse people". There are a few good characters, here and there, but they are the exception to the rule. If you want a hard-hitting, exciting, gritty sci-fi story that doesn't pull any punches, or shies away from "difficult" concepts, welcome! If you are set on a pure and noble knight that runs around and slays conveniently evil monsters and rescues totally innocent princesses... or your sensibilities are easily offended... You're not going to be happy with this one.

BODY&SHADOW
AN ILLUSTRATED NOVEL • UPDATES TUESDAY AND FRIDAY In a time before living memory, the King Dragon of the Void watched the world and realized there was a crack. He realized that humanity was destroying the rock upon which they lived; they leaked life’s code into the churning chaos. At first the change was imperceptible: nanites overtook microorganisms, bacteria, viruses, amoebas. Insects became increasingly inorganic; birds and lizards followed soon after. Even humans were infected by their own advances, cell by cell, till there was not a person left on earth who wasn’t at least part synthetic, the product of a prior generation’s carelessness. The world’s population was ravaged by mechanical viruses with no vaccines; they were mercilessly overtaken by bacteria that knew no death. Soon, most of the planet was empty and only a handful remained who remembered the hedonist realm they came from; only a few were left who remembered what the world looked like when their buildings touched the sky. The King Dragon of the Void watched the rock turn. He watched humans cower as the Old World fell down around them; watched their great monuments crumble into dusty ruins; watched their codes become precious, ancient gem memories forged under the crushing pressure of so many fallen stones. The world has spun many times around the sun since chaos swallowed man whole. It is a simpler time than the one that died out, but the people now are not immune to the folly of the people before. There is old code everywhere: in the water, in the air, in the trees. The heart of man has been replaced by power cores, many of which are hard-coded with preternatural abilities—when they die, an esoteric mountain sect collects their cores and stores them in their hollow mountain home to preserve the sanctity and dignity of human death. They’ve learned to harness artifacts of the old world, gemstones full of codes their nanite infused bodies can parse as spells imbuing their users with great power; they inlay them into their bodies, into their skins, connected to their cores by copper conduit and gold tracers; they dress themselves in tattoos to advertise their prowess; they battle for relics in arenas, fight for them in the open world wherever they are found. The King Dragon of the Void watches the rock turn and wonders: when will this hunger finally make the rock stop spinning? WELCOME TO FANXING CITY … Twenty-five years ago, Fanxing City and the surrounding lands were commanded by the mad King Zao Beiguan. For many years, the King hoarded wealth, artifacts, food; he demanded tribute from a people already taxed to the edges of their existence and expected they be happy with their circumstances. Noncompliance was often punished harshly, bodies displayed proudly on Fanxing’s streets as a warning, from the city gates to the Zao palace’s golden doors. The youths of several prominent clans came together to overthrow the tyrant and made names for themselves as legendary heroes across the land: Tian, Ren, Feng, Gui, Ma, and Zhenxi. Even wanderers from the Luanshi sect descended from Yunji mountain to aid the rebellion. When the dust settled after three years, Tian Yunyong ascended the throne of Fanxing and swore to honour his slain father’s memory, and has maintained Fanxing’s peace with generosity and mercy where fear and cruelty once reigned.
