《Steam of Britain》Chapter 14: Rail tour

In many parts of the world, there are preserved steam engines that come out on the main line, and pull special excursion trains called rail tours. Some are to certain destinations, others are just for the locomotive itself. Either way, many rail enthusiasts come and go to see steam in action. One of these tours was brought to King's Cross. And the engine was a sight.
She was an LMS compound 4-4-0 steam engine. He paint was crimson, and she looked very smart. Her name, was Alivia. "It's an honor to see another LMS," said Steve. "Thank you," said Alivia, "I must say, it is an honor to be here." The engines all looked in amazement. "It is very nice to be on the mainline again. But I'm preserved. I can't have other engines right next to me, or fetch my own coaches. It spoils my appearance." The engines were confused, but they gave her some space.
The next morning, Alivia was being coaled by hand. The other engines watched. "I don't understand," said Mallard, "There's a coal hopper right here. She doesn't need to be filled by hand." "Oh, it's a request made by the museum," said Alivia. Mallard just rolled his eyes, and headed to the platform. Daniel rolled right next to Alivia to fuel up, and Alivia said, "GET AWAY!!!" Daniel then said, "I need to fuel up before heading south." "I DON'T CARE, YOU USELESS BLUE BUFFOON!! YOU'LL GET MY PAINT ALL SUITY!!!" Daniel just ignored her and fueled up. Alivia scolded him, until he left to collect his train.
Alivia soon arrived at the platform, and rail enthusiasts came from all over the station to see her. Silver Link stood by, and he watched. "Stay back!" said Alivia, "You'll ruin my shot!" "But I'm famous too," said Silver Link, "My class has broken all sorts of steam speed records." Alivia laughed, "Oh, but you see, I'm one of the chosen ones. I've been preserved. Fame, suits me. You're just old news. Your 15 seconds of fame has come to an end. Don't be something that you're not." Silver Link was furious!!! When it was time to leave, he wheeshed steam rudely at Alivia. Alivia was not happy.

That night, Silver Link and Daniel told the other engines what Alivia had said to them. "She's a spoiled brat," said Mallard. "I can't believe that she said that," said Max. "Now now," said Trooper, "I know she said some horrible things, but she is our guest. And we are getting many visitors here. So, just please try to deal with it. She'll be gone before you know it."
But she wasn't gone. She was pulling all the rail tours that the museum had planned. The engines were soon getting fed up with her attitude. "I wish Flying Scotsman was here," said Duchess, "He would know what to do." "I know," said Mallard, "He is very wise. I just want to here his advice." Just then, Alivia puffed onto her train, and said to them, "Oh, Scotsman? He's scrap now." The engines were furious!! "FLYING SCOTSMAN IS NOT SCRAP!!! HE'S IN AMERICA!!" "Well his owner lost all money, and sold him off. Now, he's scrapped by the Americans." Bertram then came in, and said, "America would never do that to Scotsman! He is a world icon!!" "He's just an out-of-date kettle who got what was coming to him." Soon, the station was filled with angry whistles and horns, until from the tunnel came a voice that said, "THAT IS ENOUGH!!!!" The engines all looked back. "Is that....?" asked Harry. "It can't be," said Perry. "IT IS!!" said Max. Steaming from the tunnel, in all his glory, came Flying Scotsman.
Soon, Flying Scotsman pulled up to the platform, with his own rail tour. On top of his smokebox, was a sign that said, 'Welcome Back Scotsman'. He was welcomed with many whistles and horn. People cheered, and people from Alivia's train said, "LOOK, IT'S THE FLYING SCOTSMAN!!! HE'S BACK FROM AMERICA!!!!" Soon, they all raced from Alivia, and to Flying Scotsman as he pulled to a halt. Alivia said, "Excuse me!! I'm the one you've come to see!! I'M THE FAMOUS ONE!!" "Not as famous as Flying Scotsman," said Mallard. Flying Scotsman said, "Hello everyone, it's good to be back." "You're here!!" said Harold. "I've missed you," said Alex. "We all have," said Arron.

Soon, Scotsman was told all that had happened while he was gone, and he then looked at Alivia. He then said, "Yes, you are preserved, but that doesn't mean that you are more important than the others. You should be thankful for your position. They could've chosen you for the scrap heap instead of having you preserved. And what you have said to my friends, is unacceptable." Flying Scotsman then steamed off to the round house for a rest.
Alivia was banished from the round house, and the guest shed was occupied by Rose. Alivia had to sleep out in the open, and she didn't like it. "Clearly," said a voice, "Fame, has gotten the best of her." Alivia just groaned.

But Emiluna is not a normal girl and her destiny far bigger than she could have ever imagined.Join her as she finds out what awaits just behind the horizon.[Word from the author]I am looking to create a fantasy world that has some logic to it and stays believable even as characters gain power and progress in levels.Classes and level quantify the people's progress, but they do not artificially inflate their power to demi-god levels. I am primarily trying to write a captivating story, not "power-porn". That means it will be slower than the fast burning litRPG you might be used to, but it won't burn out that quickly either and I won't drop half of my plots at the wayside. I should mention that English is not my native language. I hope it is mostly unnoticeable, but sometimes I manage to slip some awkard sentence structure in there (German sometimes puts things together in reverse). It it also my first time writing an actual fantasy novel and the first time writing anything at length in English. Any constructive feedback is very welcome.Credit where credit is due: Cover picture by Paul Bica (Licensed under CC 2.0)Check out his amazing photos here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/dexxusYes, my cover picture is a photo, not a drawing. :D I might try my hand at some Paint-ification later to add the title.[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
