《Secret Trio: A New Start (Old and discontinued)》Chapter 12

"Wait, what," Howard asked, his eyes widening when the boys told about their encounter last Friday.
"I told my Gramps about it," Jake said, "and he was clueless on what she is. He was thinking of a phoenix, but a phoenix can't have fiery hair when they turn human."
Randy nodded, "I also asked the Ninja Nomicon, but all it said strengthen your wisdom for it shall be your weapon. It said nothing about what she is."
They then looked at Danny, expecting that he did some research as well. "Well..." Danny started, rubbing the back of his neck, "uh, Vlad said that he knows someone who can train us to defeat her. She doesn't know what she is, but he knows she's powerful."
"Wait, hold on..." Howard said, "train you guys?"
"Yeah," Jake added, "did you even consider that maybe he's a martial artist or something. Not really something that's magical, mystical, or ancient or something?!"
"He assured me that he knows these types of things," he said, "and he also asked if you guys would like to come over and train."
The three boys looked at each other and then at Danny. "Sure," Randy smiled. "I'm cool with it," Jake said, leaning back. Howard looked at the two with the stare of "you guys are unbelievable" and then said, "am I the only one thinking that maybe this mentor of yours will trick you into fueling something evil?!" Danny, Jake, and Randy looked at Howard. "Vlad won't do that," Danny said as he leaned on the table, "he'll make sure that I'm safe 200%."
Today, they were going to play Volleyball. Danny's team was the red team and the opposing team was blue. Danny was working on strategies with his team. Jake noticed that the other team was snickering and chuckling. He knows he shouldn't do this but, he doesn't like loosing.

"Dragon sight..." his eyes glowed and he could see the board of their team. They know what we were going to do. They predicted everything perfectly. Jake ran up to Danny. "They know our strategy," Jake exclaimed as he took the board and rearranged the placements. And he then gave it back to Danny.
"What do you know, new kid?!" Someone exclaimed. Jake doesn't know how to respond. So Randy took the question, "because the last time we remember, Jake was the one to do the final blow." Everyone was quiet. It was one of the best epic moments in dodgeball.
The teacher blew the whistle and everyone was in their places.
The blue team took the first ball. The red team followed Jake's plan, and it worked incredibly well. A few minutes in the game, it was already a match point. "Time out!" the captain of the blue team said, as the blue team retreated.
The red team re-strategized too, as soon as Jake heard what they were going to do. "Seriously, Jake," Howard whispered, "your powers are amazing."
It was match point and the red and blue team were on each other's throat. None wanting to lose. Randy caught the ball before it hit the ground and yelled, "Jake!"
And just like that, Jake jumped at the back of Howard and hit the ball so hard, like it was a meteor about to crash the dinosaurs. Just when the ball was about to hit the ground, a sudden blast of purple fire blasted the ball and left a dent to where the ball was about to land.
Everyone looked up and saw the flaming beauty. "Well, hello, hello, Norrisville High!" she greeted as she entered the hole she made in the wall. She looked around and smirked at the horrified and awe gazes she received, "my name's Dark Flame, and my pet wants to play."

She tossed a ball and it gave out dark purple smoke. The coach were evacuating the children as he tried to not inhale anything. Everyone was out when the smoke cleared. There were only our trio, coughing it out of their systems, that were left.
The looked around and was suddenly thrown to the wall. They even managed to leave a dent. When they stood up, they say another one of those creatures.
It was a big purple bat-like creature. With antlers of a deer, tongue of a snake, and tale like a scorpion. And it was at least 9 feet tall. And it had big ears, like the size of it's body. It let out a glass-breaking shriek, causing the nearby glass to break.
The three boys covered their ears. Danny's already bleeding out ectoplasm. When it stopped, it swung it's tale and it made the boys be thrown unto the benches.
Jake groaned as he sat up and rubbed his back. Then he looked at his pals and gave each other a nod before they stood up.
Jake attacked first. He flew high and threw fire balls at the thing. Randy took out his sword and started to help Jake. The thing screeched at Jake, and then grabbed Randy with it's scorpion tale. It was squishing Randy until he will run out of breath.
Danny fired an ecto-blast at the monster's tail, it let out a yelp and released Randy. Danny eventually caught him and flew him beside Jake. The monster's tail was about to attack them again, but Danny built a 7-inch thick ice barrier.
"Randy! Plan!" Danny yelled as the creature was banging it's antlers on the ice. Randy frantically scanned through the Ninja Nomicon, but can find nothing about this creature. While Randy was searching, Jake examined the thing. It had huge ears. Bat ears. Small eyes.
"I have a plan," Jake said, as he as he flew a few inches from the ground, "follow my lead."
Danny let the ice wall fall and they all got out of the way as the thing charged at them with it's antlers.
Jake flew near it's ears and yelled, "yo, bat breath! Bet 'ya can't catch me!" and then let out a loud roar. Jake then flew away as the bat's ears blead black goo. Randy and Danny nodded at each other. And they both ran to the monster.
It was about to let another screech, when Randy rapped it's mouth with his scarf. He swung on it's mouth and tied his scarf on to the antlers of the monster. "Jake! Cover your ears!" Randy said as he was hanging on its back and was covering hi ears with his hand and knees. Jake covered his ears and was standing at the far edge of the court.
Danny gulped in as much air as he can and then let it all out. He was doing his ghostly wail. Jake's ear was bleeding. He used his wings, and knees to try and cover his ears since this was a closed space.
The monster tried to cover his ears but Randy's scarf wrapped it all up. The creature's eyes widen as he felt his body explode into black goo. Danny closed his mouth and let himself fall from exhaustion.
"Dude! That was deadly awesome!" Jake said as he wiped the blood away from his ears. "Totally bruce," Randy said as he walked up to Danny. Jake also walked up to the two boys and extended his fist. Randy smiled and extended his fist too. "Need help, bro?" Randy asked as Danny shakily stood up. He looked at the two and shook his head. And made a fist of his own.
They bumped each other's fist and the light glowed again. And the static returned. They smiled as they let their hands go. Randy smiled and crossed his arms.
"So. This is the official start of the Secret Trio."

Vemödalen: From The Other Side

They know their path to be the righteous one. One to roam the land, hunting for all apparitions, and be scorned by man and beast alike. They know their path to be an arduous one. One to wander the realm in search of power, to protect themselves and what they believe in. They know their path to be the only one. Writers note: The first chapter will set the standard in terms of mood for the remainder of the story. It also comes to no surprise to me that half the people who read the first part stop reading any further. It has quite a bit of the good ‘ol ‘ultra-violence’ mixed with a great deal of realism. As much as I could fit into it from my own knowledge and experience in the elite forces. The first few chapters will be slow, after, but starting from ‘Restless Destroyer’ the remainder of the world will start to open up, and when we hit ‘Adronitis’ the prologue is largely finished. The novel is well thought out and filled with hidden lore, culture, history. So even if my word choice appears random – it’s not. There is a reason why these chapters take as long as they do. Vermodalen is fantasy adventure, with magic and heroics in an as realistic setting as I could fit. Things are rarely what they seem, and the ugly nature of people bleed through the letters at the turn of every page. I hope you can give this story a fair chance, even if it isn’t immediately to your taste. Lastly, english isn't my first language. It isn't my second one either. So, if you find errors in grammer and spelling, wordplay and sentance building, do let me know, and you will be rewarded by a surge of dopamine that will be released inside your brain for helping someone whom you haven't even seen or heard.

Almost a Good Person
A memory, a memory of a boy who wanted more than pain, of a girl who wanted more than death, and an Isle that should not exist. The Isle of Red is a small, unassuming, quiet place. It is just large enough for a college, a small town, and maybe even a few more unusual sorts of places. Of course, the townsfolk practically know each other as family. Flush-faced regulars can be found toasting just about anything in the Briar's Brew, then, a few streets away, the same haggle of older women stationed themselves on their perch as they did every day from one of the few balconies in Central Square. They fuss away now, spouting the usual gossip as they watch us all from on high. Then there is the College here on the Isle of Red. My college. It has been often described as an unusual place by a good deal of people on the mainland. If they only would visit -why I am sure they'll soon have a change of heart, they may even come to find it a quaint sort of place, odd but in the same way a tattered old quilt can be both odd looking and warm, and especially soft. We teach mostly the same sort of disciplines here, with fantastic and absolutely normal professors.I must conclude that I am quite smitten with myself. The stage is set with a level of perfection that would have astonished me in my youth. They are coming. Derek will follow her. He knows the weight of reality too intimately, but she will be his true north if only for a short time. A beacon in the storm to show him the stunning pastels and brightness the sun may yet refract through his thinner, sharper pieces. Theoline will lead as she always has- well not always, not yet. She holds onto questions feverishly tight, that one. Lights them up inside like a new type of fuel without the slightest worry of being burned. She knows... There is but a certain few who can look at a map and find nothing where I stand but the Atlantic Ocean. And still, there is earth beneath me, a noisy pub down the road from me, and several people clucking conspiratorially on a balcony above me. She knows... that the Isle of Red doesn't belong here. Neither, technically, do I. (Hello!
