《Secret Trio: A New Start (Old and discontinued)》Chapter 3

Danny opened his window and let the cold wind go in. He went ghost and was about to jump from the window, when he heard a knock on his door. He looked behind him to see Vlad, his foster parent.
You're asking how this happened right? Well remember about the issue I mentioned in the summary? Yeah. It has something to do with parent problems... So he moved in with Vlad.
"Where do you think you're going this late at night? You have school tomorrow," Vlad said.
"Um, it's my turn to patrol...?" Danny answered.
Vlad sighed and nodded. Danny smiled and said, "bye Vlad! See you later!" as he fly away.
He flew joyfully out of the open sky. He loves flying in Norrisville. The wind is warmer and there isn't too much to worry about. He flew high in the sky, looking above Norrisville.
He was happy, and then something red caught his eye. He flew near it and saw the red dragon earlier. He looked sad. Danny could hear him murmuring something. He got a little closer to hear what he's saying.
The dragon sighed and looked up at the sky, "I wonder how Haley is doing. Maybe she's even better than I am. Maybe Gramps was right to transfer me here. I mean, I was and am a pain in the neck." The dragon chuckled and then started to sob.
Danny felt horrible eavesdropping like this. He sighed and floated towards the dragon. The dragon saw him approaching and he was about to fly away. "Wait!" Danny pleaded.
The dragon stopped for a while and waited for Danny. Danny caught up with him and said, "thanks."
"Thanks for what?"
"You know... For the help in school."

The dragon smiled and said "no prob. Happy to help."
"Hey, are there more of you here?" Danny asked. "Umm..." the dragon hesitated but replied, "not really here, but somewhere else. Look, I like having an interview but I got some places to go."
"Oh, right. Sorry," Danny waved bye as the dragon flew away. What just happened? Danny normally isn't like this. He sighed and continued on with his patrol.
He was flying back to Vlad's mansion, but then, a blonde caught his eye. It was Dash! What is he doing here? He starred at Dash for a few more minutes. He was on his rooftop, thinking.
Dash looked up and saw Danny. And they locked eyes. Danny turned invisible and flew back to his room.
When he got there, he let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. A friendly dragon is one thing. But seeing Dash in Norrisville is another. There was no way in heck he'll deal with Dash again! That's one of the reasons he wanted to get out of Amity Park!
He sighed and flopped on his bed and shut his eyes.
Jake was walking his way towards school. It was lonely walking to school alone. But he can bear it. When he came to school, he saw his new friends near the school gate. Danny locked eyes with him and signaled him to come there.
Jake smiled as he ran towards them. When he got there, Howard was telling a funny story. They were idling there for a while until Randy suggested to go inside. They nodded and went inside, going to Jake's locker.
While going there, Jake heard a very familiar voice. Of course, he can't mistake it. He looked down the hall and saw Nigel. The boy that can beat him in so many things. Jake's shock turned into annoyance.

"Hey, what's bothering you?" Danny asked as he saw the redheaded teen. "Wow," Randy commented, "I didn't know you already had enemies on your first day."
"He's not a new face to me," Jake explained, "that jerk, Nigel has been a pain in my butt for three years!"
"Ugh!" Jake groaned in annoyance. Danny patted his back and said, "let's just ignore him."
They were walking towards Jake's locker when Nigel chuckled, really wanting Jake to start a fist-fight with him. "Oh my, oh my, Jakey..." Nigel's voice beamed, making Jake and his friends stop. Howard tried to hold back the laugh of the name "Jakey."
"I didn't know you would lower down your standards so quickly," Nigel said as he examined each of his friends. Jake glared at him, meeting him eye to eye. "Got nothing to say, Jakey..." Nigel said as he walked towards Jake and cupped his chin, "you stooped so low..."
"Don't touch me!" Jake pushed Nigel away. Nigel starred at Jake and then smirked. He put his hands in his pockets and smiled evilly. Two seniors appeared behind him, much to the dislike of Jake.
Jake was getting ready to fight, while Randy and Howard are trying to be cowards. Too bad Danny won't let them.
In an instant, the students were crowding around the upcoming fight. Right when Nigel was about to snap his fingers to signal to begin, the bell rang. Howard was relieved they won't have to fight, because he is not even capable of giving an effective punch.
Nigel scoffed, "you're lucky this time, Long. Next time, you won't be." Nigel and his gang left, along with the disappointed crowd. The three boys just took a breath and went to their first class together.

Reincarnated As A Benevolent Tyrant
NOTICE: This story is under rewrite. New novel has been published. Search **RE: Tyranny** in Royalroad for the new novel.Link- Re: Tyranny Thank You! ------------------------ "Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory." What a brilliant line, isn't it? James was a boy who had nothing to worry about. A happy family, a nice childhood. What's more to ask? But one day, everything changed. He lost everything in the blink of an eye. The only thing left for him were the memories and dreams of the past. Trying to cope up with the loss, he cut all ties with the outside world and became a shut-in, having no one left to call his own or to rely upon. There was nothing left for him in this world, but still he lived and soon found a purpose in his life, which lead him to create something that could change the world. And on the very day when his dream project was about to come to the light, he lost his life, trying to save a little girl from an unfortunate accident. "Will I ever be remembered...? I wish... someone would." These were the last word James mumbled before his conscious faded into darkness. But his life didn't end there, as he is transmigrated into the body of an arrogant, worthless Duke's son in some unknown land with no memories about who is or any idea about where he is. In an era of political turmoil and civil strife, the Duke's son is forced to prove his worth for inheriting the title. Will he be able to accept the new reality and prove himself by leading this country into a prosperous future? Or will he cease to the pressure of his past and lose everything once more? Disclaimer: This is not a power-fantasy or a 'feel-good' story. If you feel a protagonist should never lack agency (especially in early story) or make compromises because of difficult circumstances, then this fiction is probably not for you. It is a story that delves deep into real world sociological/psychological subjects and explores many topics of gray morality. I wrote it because I like stories that make me think more about the world around us, not to detach myself from reality. Some aspects you can expect based on the tags include:- [Kingdom Building]: political drama, geopolitical/geoeconomic strategy- [Army Building]: massive battles featuring in-depth planning, combined arms, and operational logistics- [Identity Crisis]: someone translated into a whole different world having to rebuild their identity and life aims The story starts off slowly, more like a slice of life than action-adventure, but I guarantee you it will get there. For those who want to skip the slow part, start from Chapter - 35 (Beginning of The End) (The whole Disclaimer section is copied from Aorii as I am too busy writing the complete story.) And yes, just for General Knowledge, James will become OP throughout the story. He is not some legendary guy who will pull out Excalibur & conquer the entire world. Update Schedule - One chapter a day. This novel is also available on Scribble Hub. And again, I humbly thank you for reading it. I hope you stick throughout the journey.
