You Are No Longer Welcome in My Clubhouse! - Richy x MC
“Hello, Fred, Sally, and Clara. How are you today Billy?” You say, staring into the fish tank at Roger’s Garage. You joined in on the fish naming tradition after moving to Duskwood a few months back.
“Are you ready to go or would you rather hang out with the fish?” Richy says as he walks out of the office.
“I’m not sure, you still haven’t told me where exactly it is that we’re going. I might like the fish better.” You tease him.
“Come on.” He says grabbing your hand and pulling you toward the door. Once you’re outside you start to walk towards his car only to be pulled in the opposite direction towards the forest. “No, this way.” He says with a smile.
“Seriously?” You ask looking at him confused. “But we only have a couple of hours before it gets dark.”
“Are you scared?” He sticks his tongue out at you.
“No.” You huff and follow him into the forest.
After walking for some time into the forest he stops and turns to you. “Ok, you can’t look anymore.” He says before stepping behind you and covering your eyes with his hands.
“Richy! You know I’m clumsy I’m going to walk into something.” You pout.
“I won’t let you, just trust me.” He whispers in your ear.
So you decide to trust him and continue walking and allowing him to guide you further into the forest. Finally, you stop walking and he takes his hands off your eyes. You open them and look around to see blankets draped from trees and tied together in a circle forming what looks like a tent.
“Soooo? What do you think?” He asks with a huge smile on his face. You notice him bouncing with excitement and you try not to laugh.

“It’s a blanket fort? In the middle of the forest?” You ask confused.
“No! It’s our Clubhouse!” He says enthusiasticly. “Don’t you like it?”
“Hmm.” You say bringing your hand to your chin and taping your lips with your finger as you walk around the outside inspecting it. “Well, it doesn’t look very weather resistant. One good storm and the Clubhouse is gone.” You say, making finger quotes on the word Clubhouse.
“Well fine then.” He puts his hands on his hips dramatically. “Since you don’t like it, you are no longer welcome in my Clubhouse!” He says before storming off inside the fort. At this point, you can’t hold back any longer and burst into laughter.
“Richy, wait!” You go in after him. Once you step inside you notice string lights hanging from the branches giving it a cozy feeling. You look down and notice a blanket covering the ground and a picnic basket full of fresh fruit, sandwiches, and other snacks. “Wow, Richy you really put a lot of time and effort into this didn’t you?”
“Yes, and it’s not even appreciated.” He pouts.
“I’m sorry.” You say before sitting next to him on the blanket.
After the two of you have finished off all the food you notice it’s already getting dark. “Maybe we should head back.” You say.
“No, if we leave now you’ll miss the best part.” He says laying on his back and then bringing you down with him.
You nestle into his side and lay your head on his chest. He wraps one arm around you and points to the ceiling with the other. You look up and see an opening in the blankets giving you the perfect view of the start through the treetops.
“Ok, so maybe I was wrong. This is an awesome Clubhouse.” You say.
Richy lets out a chuckle before putting his hand on your chin, tilting your face up, and gently kissing your lips.

Loot Sisters
Loot Sisters is a light-hearted flash fiction serial of 100-word episodes inspired by RPGs and hunting for quests. I don't have a set plan for where the story goes, as each week, I write my story around three random words posted weekly on The Prediction (an online flash fiction challenge group). I hope you enjoy the story! :) My characters include Maya (the narrator and a bit of a rogue-like character), Vera (our healer/mage), Felicia (resident navigator and lover of gadgets), and Rach (a fighter/brawler). Cover illustration is of Maya by Luminita Pham.
