《The Hybrid》Frozen arguements

Alex-
I shiver in the cold as my blue lips tremble. I look up to Liam as his eyes search me. He is soaking wet from his dive to save me but he looks unaffected from the cold. His perfect hair is messy and matted from the murky waters. "You're alive." He breathes out in relief. My whole body shakes from the below freezing weather and Liam quickly notices. He scoops me up from the rotten dock and begins to carry me away from the traumatizing lake. My mind rushes from what just happened. Liam saved me? Did he kill Kaden?
His strong arms easily carry me through the dark forest until we come back to the hunter's building. Fear overcomes me as I remember what Kaden did to me. "No," My voice cracks as I watch the building approaching, "I can't go back there!" I whimper as tears streak my pale face. "Please." The words escape my blue lips in a desperate whisper.
"Just a quick pop in, Love, then we will be on our way." I heard Liam reply. Anger laces his velvety voice and he looks as if he was about to get away with murder.
He kicks through the door with his foot, the door slams open as he walks in like a badass, me in his strong arms shaking to death from the frozen lake mixed with the frosty winds and soaked clothing. He walks us down the hallway until we reach the door to Kai's office.
~~~~~~
Kai's POV-
I sat at my desk, tapping my pen on the papers in front of me in annoyance. Paperwork is going to be the death of me. I run my hands through my silky blonde hair and then suddenly the door slams open. I see Liam, his face fuming with rage as he is soaking wet. My eyes glance down to see he is carrying Alex. She looks blue and frozen. She trembled in his arms, her head is wounded and pouring blood. I notice her neck has three gashes that look like claw marks, oozing deep blood. Fear strikes me like a knife when I look back into Liam's deadly glare.
"Did you jump in the lake?" I attempt to hide my anger as I lean back in my chair casually.
"I found one of your men," Liam hisses, anger spewing out of him as he gently sets the weak-looking Alex onto the leather couch by me. "out in the woods. He threw my hybrid into the lake!" He shouted. His fists were clenched tightly by his soaked sides. "You lied to me!" He raged.
Shock filled me, who was trying to drown her? I gave specific orders to keep her unharmed. "Brother," I raised my hands to attempt to calm him, "I had nothing to do with this. My men were ordered to leave the girl unharmed."
"So you knew! You had her this whole time. Locked up." He growled as he stepped closer to me, his eyes beginning to turn a deep bloody red color from his vampire rage. I backed up a step, gulping at his menacing glares. Liam rushed me, shoving me against the bookcase behind me and holding me by my neck. "YOU KNEW!" He screamed. I hadn't seen him this angry before.
"What does it matter to you? It's just a girl. A weak girl." I provoked him, hiding my fear.
He slammed me harder into the bookshelf. "She is not weak, only you are my pathetic brother." He spewed venom. My eyes glowed red from my half vampire side as I grew angry at his remark. I brought my hands up and roughly shoved him with my hunter's beastly strength. He went flying backward, smashing into the wall behind him. A small cloud of white dust erupted from the hole Liam had created. Liam crawled out of the crater, glowing with red rage. He rushed up to me and punched me in the jaw. I stumbled back in shock by his fast moves.
"Is that all you got?" I smirked as I spat blood out of my mouth. He glared at me with his red eyes as he lunged for me again, knocking me to the ground. He towered over me, hissing at me, his long white fangs now sparkling in the light. I moved my foot to jump up and kick him in the face. I cannot describe how much joy this fight was bringing me. Liam stumbled back in shock that I had just hit his pretty face.
"Wrong move, brother." He sheathed as he jumped on me, punching me in the face. His first punch was quickly followed by three more, four,five. My face ached as his strong punches bruised my soft face. He stopped suddenly, a small relief running through me. He dragged me from the ground by my neck and pulled me towards the door with an evil smirk. I hissed at him, my fangs showing prominently as he dragged me through the door and down the hall. He yanked me into the large meeting room filled with hunters.
I smirked as happy thoughts of my friends came to mind. Liam was too engulfed in his rage that he was stupid enough to take me into a room full of strong hunters. "Wow you're really stupid." I choked out, my fangs still showing as he pulled me into the room. "You just walked into a room filled with trained hunters, vampire." I smirked as a small realization washed over him, quickly hidden by dark eyes. I looked around to see the large table full of alerted hunters. They all stood, ready to fight as they gaped at us.
"Oh contrary, brother. I'm not the only vampire here, now am I?" He smirked as he still held me by my throat. My face grew pale as I dangled in his grip. The secret I had tried so hard to keep was just spilled like useless milk. All of the hunters stared at me in shock. I was their leader. I crashed to the ground as Liam released me and walked out of the room, slamming the door loudly.
"Kai?" Dylan stared at me as if I was a monster. Some of the men reached for their knives at their sides. I gulped as nerves ran through my body.
The door busted open and everyone turned to see one of our hunters rushed in. "Both of the wolves are gone from their cages." He gaped before turning to me and covering as he saw my mouth open wide, fangs exposed.
I turned back to the rest of the hunters and raised my hands, "I can explain." I stepped back.
"Explain the fact that you lied?" One of the wolves spoke up angrily, "The fact that you, our leader, are fake." His words burned my skin.
I didn't reply. Instead I turned to the door and ran.
Liam's POV -
I slammed the door behind me, satisfied with the punishment I had given Kai. I walked down the long hallway to Kai's office so I could retrieve Alexandra. I slowly walked through the door to see her on the couch laying limply, eyes closed delicately. She was very pale and her lips were a very blueberry color. Her head bled from that man's beating.
I remembered when I had found her.
-Flashback-
I prowled through the woods in search of my hybrid, worried of her safety with Russell. I had searched half of the woods and still no luck locating the she-wolf. I tuned in my vampire hearing to locate any nearby movements. I was still close to Kai and his hunters so I was able to pick up on small voices from the meeting he was holding. My ears were then met with a faint scream not too far off. My head jerked up from its gaze on the leafy ground as I realized that was Alexandra's scream. I raced towards the sound as I heard splashing and gruesome laughter from a man.
I came upon a lake where I saw an ugly fat man bellowing on a weak dock. I was surprised that it didn't break from his weight. He was laughing at the water... why? Anger ans shock ran through my veins as I realized the sins he had just committed. I raced to him, snapping his neck as hard as I could. My rage was taken out a little roughly on the fat man as his head just popped off of his body. oops. I tossed the head aside and kicked his body off of the dock onto the shore.
I took no more time with the man. I turned and raced down the long aged dock until I reached the end. I dove gracefully into the dark water, not even considering the frozen water that would meet me below. I instantly shivered at the icy water as I dove deep in search of my little wolf. I opened my eyes, taking in my moonlit surroundings. I searched the water quickly, keeping track of how long she must've already been submerged in this numbing water. I spotted her near the bottom, sinking deeper with her almost lifeless form. I clawed at the water, swimming quickly towards her before I took a hold of her tiny waist. I then pushed off of the bottom of the slimy lake, rocketing me to the surface.
I burst through the water, taking in the air as I dragged myself and Alex onto the shore. I laid her flat on the dock, looking at her desperate for her to show me a sign of life. I paced back and forth a few times before I bent back down to her.
"Come on, Love, you can survive this." I urged as I lightly pressed her chest, an attempt to remove some water. I noticed she wasn't breathing and my heart dropped. I was blank on what to do. Crap. Crap. CPR! The realization rushed over me as I desperately moved closer to her pale face, pausing for a second to glance at her closed eyes. I finally moved my hands to open her mouth and prepare for the process. I placed my mouth on hers, urging air into her stubborn lungs. I then moved back to pump my hands on her chest, an attempt to restart her heartbeat. I tried this process a few times, unsuccessfully. I stood back up again and groaned in frustration. I'm going to beat Kai. I paced in anger. back and forth on the dock. I heard sputters of water and then coughing. I yanked my head over in desperation, all anger leaving me as I saw Alex looking at me weakly. I rushed to her side.
-End flashback-
I looked at the weak Alex and fear ran through me as I wondered if she was dead. I listened closely for a heartbeat. I heard a weak tapping in her chest, she was barely alive. I bent down near the couch by her. I brought my wrist up to my face, moving my sleeve away and biting my vein with my fangs, letting blood pour out. I brought my wrist to her mouth. My blood would heal her faster. I then scooped her up gently and held her close to my body. I walked out of Kai's office and began to make my way back to my mansion.
WOW that was an intense chapter... not really but it was a blast to write! What happened to Tyler? How did he escape? Is Liam still mad that Alex ran away? She almost dies omg! (Special shout out to my friends that have been so supportive of my writing!)
Stranger than Fiction (Draft Edition)
Rewrite -> https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/55140/stranger-than-fiction 150k words of rewritten and new content, updating 3 times a day. Faith is like ice-cream. It comes in all flavors. Greek, Norse, Sumerian, Christian— just name it and it's there. Adventures, on the other hand, are like credit cards. The first taste is free, but the price only goes up from there. Family heirlooms, now those are true evil. You get burdened with them for sentimental reasons even if they’re icky. For Lukas Aguilar, it was a pendant. A small, weird metal nib with absolutely no vampiric tendencies. All he wanted was to finish the job at hand, and get on that book he had been postponing for a while now. Instead he got served with an apocalypse for breakfast, a cave full of eldritch monsters for the company and the whims of a ruined goddess for his To-Do list. Really, a simple NO from the universe would have sufficed. Acknowledgments Editor-in-Chief: Solo Starfish Artwork: Exodus
Cast from the domains of old and conspiring gods to a land of which is sheltered from the divine, beyond the reach of whence they scheme, the impling who soon would come to be known far and wide as Nyx will find a new purpose. Born of Pride, with the fires of ambition fanned and burning deep within, Nyx will grow, learn, and evolve. Yet, the yearn of power might not be the only thing the power-manic demon will come to desire as he will encounter others who might just matter as much to him as the ecstasy of power does. [Info]This story features a wide breadth of characters with unconventional views, morals, and actions. There is no black and white - there is only grey. In a world where strength rules, notions of good and evil blur. The protagonist of this story is not a hero. He is not human. He is a megalomaniac demon trying to find his place in the world of which he has been discarded. This novel is my first crack at making something serious, a piece of work I can be proud of. It is a part of a bigger universe that I am creating, The Aethos, and I fully intend for this story to be professionally edited, then self-published on Amazon. The novel will continue on for a long adventure, as each arc will be made into a proper book. Therefore I heavily encourage feedback and interaction. Anything to improve my story and my writing is greatly appreciated. Thank you, and welcome to the Aethos. [Schedule] - Five chapters a week. [Discord] - Here
Vemödalen: From The Other Side
War is coming - And when it comes - And where it comes - And whence it comes - The living shall envy the dead One to carry their sword in the name of their goddess and lady, to protect their land and people against the threat of the wicked. They know their path to be the righteous one. One to roam the land, hunting for all apparitions, and be scorned by man and beast alike. They know their path to be an arduous one. One to wander the realm in search of power, to protect themselves and what they believe in. They know their path to be the only one. Writers note: The first chapter will set the standard in terms of mood for the remainder of the story. It also comes to no surprise to me that half the people who read the first part stop reading any further. It has quite a bit of the good ‘ol ‘ultra-violence’ mixed with a great deal of realism. As much as I could fit into it from my own knowledge and experience in the elite forces. The first few chapters will be slow, after, but starting from ‘Restless Destroyer’ the remainder of the world will start to open up, and when we hit ‘Adronitis’ the prologue is largely finished. The novel is well thought out and filled with hidden lore, culture, history. So even if my word choice appears random – it’s not. There is a reason why these chapters take as long as they do. Vermodalen is fantasy adventure, with magic and heroics in an as realistic setting as I could fit. Things are rarely what they seem, and the ugly nature of people bleed through the letters at the turn of every page. I hope you can give this story a fair chance, even if it isn’t immediately to your taste. Lastly, english isn't my first language. It isn't my second one either. So, if you find errors in grammer and spelling, wordplay and sentance building, do let me know, and you will be rewarded by a surge of dopamine that will be released inside your brain for helping someone whom you haven't even seen or heard.
Dear Spellbook (Rewrite)
Live. Study. Repeat. Tal never saw himself as an adventurer, but the call to adventure never much cared for his opinion. Despite his best efforts, his search for answers on the murder of his parents ever draws him into danger. Accompanied by a group of seasoned warriors, thus far Tal has gotten by on his own meager magical talents, but when one day he wakes up to find himself back in his bed of the night before, he is faced with a challenge he must conquer alone. What to expect: This story was born of an attempt to create in world lore reasons for many of the mechanics and tropes of D&D, but you do not need to know of them to enjoy the story. It's a single POV time loop story with slow paced progression fantasy elements. The story is not one of fast-paced power ups and non-stop action, but as it progresses, the action picks up. There is a lot of magic system exploration on a system built to unify the diverse magic of D&D into one cohesive magic system. The setting is an original world with familiar races and monsters but with new unique origins and motivations. Book 1 is complete. Book 2 is complete and coming out M-W-F.
