"Michael! " the happy, little (h/c) haired girl came running up to her friend, surprising him with a hug.

"Hey, (Y/n)." he greeted her with a smile. "Why are you so happy? " he asked tilting his head, being slightly confused at her overwhelming excitement today. The girl was happy more often than not, but normally acted reserved at school.

"I asked my mom if I could go trick-or-teating with you and she said yes! "she declared quite loudly, still feeling overjoyed with her right to spend Halloween with her best friend. Her statement made him smile more. She hadn't brought up trick-or-treating with him before and he had thought of asking today. Now he didn't even have to. The cute little pair kept talking about the planned adventure, in a more hugged tone now that the initial bit of excitement passed. Both asked about each others costumes, Michael was going to be dressed like a clown and (Y/n) would be a little red riding hood. The only thing to bring these two apart was different classes.

The bubbly young girl hummed, patiently waiting outside school for her friend. She wanted to talk more with him, though she had nothing in particular in mind. However he didn't really show, which was odd. She sighed looking around at the world, her eyes settling on the colorful trees, their orange, yellow and red dying leaves. They were fun to watch dance around in the wind on their decent to the boring grey concrete. She sighed again looking down at her feet, kicking a small bundle of leaves that gathered against them.

"Boo!" Michael yelled, lightly poking her back. The (H/c) girl screamed, almost falling from her seat in pure shock. Her head turned on a swivel to see him smiling sheepishly at her. She huffed and pushed him playfully.

"Why'd you have to scare me! " she whined, faking a frown.

"Sorry. " he laughed a little and she finally smiled.

"What took so long? "She asked tilting her head. He only shock his head and shrugged. She whined, not buying it, but honestly didn't mind it too much. She got up from her seat and grabbed his hand. As soon as they started walking, she went on and on about whatever came to her mind. He didn't mind her chatty nature in the slightest, she was just delightful to be around. Even with her being the one to talk most of the time, he really didn't mind, she was his friend and she brought a warm light of life to him, just like Boo. She was his best friend, his and his alone.

You mumbled to yourself as you ascended the stairs, all the way into your office. You picked up the draft, though looking where the title should be, there wasn't any, just a blotchy red mess. You took the single page and look at the rest of the stack, there ontop was the correct title. You set them down and looked at the mysterious page in your hand still. "What the hell?" you questioned yourself. Soon a strong smell hit your nose. You held the page closer and a distinct sent of blood was emanating from it. You were like a deer caught in head lights, standing still, allowing yourself to be one hundred percent certain that you smelt blood. A shaky breath escaped your lips as you hesitantly put the page down. Your mind just couldn't process that right now. It simply couldn't, not right now, so you were quick to pick up the proper stack of papers and put them in a folder, leaving just as quickly as you had rushed up the stairs. You would handle the bloodied page after Laurie and Tommy were gone.

When you arrived down stairs your Tom cat was up in Laurie's arms. "Is Salt just sucking you dry for attention? " you asked, laughing at him. He meowed, worming his way out of the blond girl's arms.

"Yes he was, the big ham." she giggled as you handed her the Folder.

"Don't lose those. " you said, petting your silver cat, who decided to wander back towards the kitchen.

"I won't, you know that. " Laurie smiled waving you goodbye. "See you later, be sure to call before you come over. " you smiled and nodded, waving her goodbye and shouted a goodbye to Tommy, adding to it that the boogeyman would say hi to him next time. Now with them cased off and your hungry waiting feline, you closed the door and returned to the regularly scheduled program. However once you walked in the kitchen the baggie of food was gone.

"Saaaaalllt." You sighed taking a quick look around. Your silver Tom hopped onto the counter, expecting food, only to become confused seeing nothing in your hands and his dish empty. "Salt what did you do with your food?" you questioned him, your eyebrows furrowing as you now looked through the fridge, just in case you may have put it away, but no, it was nowhere to be found. "Ugh... I'm sorry Salt." You frowned at him and he was returning the same pouty gesture. "I'll make you another batch before we leave to hang out with Laurie, m'kay? "you offered him, rubbing his cheek. He soon began purring, happy with the idea, knowing very well you'd be giving him a little more than his fill, otherwise he'd be begging till he puked up his food, the piggy. "Good kitty." You smiled at him and grabbed what you had on Backus if you didn't have time or the meat to make his special food; a can of wet food and a half cup of a 'healthy' brand dry food. He was, of course, exceedingly impatient for his substitute, since you put the wet food in his dish first. He yeowled longingly while you mixed the two ingredients together. Just as soon as you had slid his now filled dish towards him, he greedily wolfed down his food. You smiled and sighed, now working on feeding yourself. Another simple breakfast for yourself, steak and eggs! Okay not entirely simple, but it was a delicious type of breakfast.

El Skippy with your food now cooked and plated, you took your meal to the living room, setting the plate on the small coffee table. Instead of sitting on the couch you opted to sit on the floor, like a child, and turned on the TV with the remote. It flipped on with a News report. Fear propaganda, politics which was just adults arguing like children, sad events such as kidnappings, deaths of some brave soldier or Policeman, and the kidnapping/murderer's busy life as they were apparently escalating. There was also the Blasé events going on for kids, teens and adults, all for Halloween, reminders to drivers to be very mindful tonight, though to be honest the only ones driving tonight will be drunk or cops. All the usual, direly boring, truly uneventful broad casts.

Your feline companion yowled whole strolling into view, prying your eyes from your food, as you were only listening to the News. He was walking with high standards of pride for bestie who ate like a pig, meandering over towards you for attention. "Hi, Salt. " you smiled, running your hand along his back as he walked by. He meowed sweetly, pushing all his twenty pounds of muscles into you. If only you were a child, he would have knocked you over like a bowling ball. Still you chuckled and gave him more attention between bites of food, which he was delighted to receive.

'oh here we go ' you thought still not bothering to look at the TV. "Blah, blah, blah.... " you rolled your eyes tuning it out. "Whatever's going on isn't gonna get solved just by putting fear into everyone by a simple broad cast." you huffed; scratching Salt's neck who was now purring far louder than one might think a cat should be able to. "It's not like it's really worked before... " you mumbled, through a bite of food. However... Against every shred of annoyance with the News cast, your eyes decided to flick over to the idiot box.

The proverbial pin dropped, and so did your fork, landing with a horrible clatter against the plate. The entire world seemed to freeze as a severe state of shock hit you like a simi-truck. The memory of the page upstairs soon returned to you as you turned your head towards the stairway. The page bearing blood. Your whole chest ached alongside your heart. It was like something that was missing had finely returned. You hoped anyways. Who else would just come inside your home and leave a blood stained page in the obvious place atop your book?

"Michael? " you spoke aloud, getting up to your feet, ignoring your cat's unhappy protests, and the food your belly still wanted. No answer, why should there be? As soon as your foot touched the first step, you took off in a sprint up the stairs, even running into your office, nearly crashing into the desk. You picked up the bloodied page, hoping that if you looked at it better there would be something there, but no... Just a blotchy red stain. Nothing special, no shape to suggest a drawing, nothing. You turned it over and there, written in a sloppy fashion, was five simple sentences;

"did you forget me?"

"i missed you so much (y/n)"

"ill see you tonight.

An immeasurable wave of panic crashed into you. First of all; Micheal had already been in the house and likely left again, though for what reason you could fathom. Second of all; you already agreed to babysit with Laurie, let Lynda and her boyfriend into your house while you were going to be babysiting with Laurie and had a slight commitment to spend the early afternoon with Dylan. There was little to no wiggle room to work with, and you only had a few hours to make a plan!

Oh, damn all the pity you had for Dylan and it only grew. It just didn't feel right to let him be a potential target. Dealing with him would be easy enough though... Lynda and her boyfriend... Sadly are very easy targets if Michael was still the way he was. (of course he is) and you didn't want to leave Laurie high and dry. Decisions, decisions...

The light pounding of feet down the stairs alerted Michael that (y/n) was up and about. He looked up at the ceiling of the basement listening carefully for her direction. As expected she went to the kitchen. She should stay there for a while, so he stepped lightly, heading up to the ground floor. Hearing the Meowing Tom cat, he peeked around the corner. (Y/n) was dressed nicely in a (f/c) and (2f/c) striped long sleeve shirt and dark blue jeans. She wasn't wearing any sort of revealing clothing. She dressed to be taken seriously. (sorry for my personal comments, but they fit) She was still the same girl he remembered, even watching her move and speak to her cat. She talked playfully towards him as if he were a person and moved so fluidly around the familiar space. She was relaxed and completely at ease in his home. It was... Well soothing to see her like this. Nothing to disturb them even if she was unaware of his presence, it was a delightful feeling to him. However the peaceful moment was cut short by the doorbell ringing.

The killer sighed, tightly couching the knife in his hand, looking over towards the entryway of the house. The silver feline ran fast to get to a window, whilst she calmly walked to the door, after setting a baggie of her cats food on the counter. He silently walked into the kitchen to listen in and get a better view of things. A young blonde girl stood in the doorway, smiling brightly upon seeing his (Y/n). "Hey killer Queen. " she held her arms out for a hug, receiving one from his girl, which annoyed him. Although he found this to be a very curious thing; how friendly his girl seemed to be towards the teenager. But he didnt see it likely that they were friends, despite the chatting proving it to be the case. A child's voice from outside broke his train of thought, now listening to both girls tease the boy outside for his fear of house and the 'boogeyman'.

The next moment, his girl left to go upstairs to retrieve something. He considered scaring off the two children, however they were too likely to warn (y/n) that someone else was in the house. He still hadn't taken the time to 'talk' with her and make her comfortable with him being around. He sighed heavily and took a few steps back. The two wouldn't be staying very long, (y/n) will make sure they leave. He didn't have to worry about them. Satisfied enough with that thought, he looked towards the bag of meat on the counter. Looking at it reminded him that he hadn't eaten since he left the Sanatorium. The meat was a bright red, high in protein. Clearly it wasn't store bought, so she likely made it herself. It probably had vegetables and such in it that the cat could eat. It could be replaced, even if the cat went hungry it shouldn't be a big deal. The Tom cat was more liable to be upset with its disappearance than her... So... He took the bag and left. He had to start looking around Haddonfeild for his baby sister. She would not stay hidden from him forever.
