《The Wolf Among Us (Michael Myers x Reader)》Chapter 1 The First Time and Salty Works

A new school, new town, new state, all the perfect ingredients to upset a young child. Her family moved thanks to her father's work in construction, and while the rest of her family was excited and very enthusiastic about it, she was not. She had only a few close friends and had struggled to make them. She hated being forced to leave them behind, but she had no say in the decision to move. And she was smart enough to know that.
The first day in the new home wasn't so bad. She became excited at the sight of all the grass and greenery instead of dirt and cacti. A nice big yard, trees everywhere, bushes, flowers and not as terrifying looking insects flying around in fresh air. All this was nice but not enough to make her forget about her friends once she was inside. The bedrooms were upstairs and her intended room was bland with pale yellow paint splattered over white. Light wood flooring blotched by the same yellow paint.
She knew she could change it just by asking her father if he could paint the room and put in carpet, but... It wasn't a comforting thought. Her old room was perfect. Soft lavender walls and dark-dull grey carpeting, with a view of the desert mountain range. She loved the greenery of this state but missed to comfort of familiarity that was associated with the desert.
The next few days were filled with a little more hope. She helped her older sister and mother unpack while her father still had to rush off to work. Her room slowly came together with her bed, desk, and dresser in place. Her closest filled with clothes and her books stowed away in a box inside it. A few dozen books. The girl loved to read and was a few grades ahead of kids her age. (7 and a half ~!) but once the first week was over it was time for her to start school again. (I was homeschooled so IDK how moving goes for kids in public school, because we'd just pick up again about a week after moving , once we got settled. )
That was when her optimism for the new town was sucked away in the blink of an eye. Most of the kids avoided her. She was soft-spoken, shorter than her classmates, socially awkward and very nervous about being around others, twitching and fidgeting under their gaze. (Just some low-key social anxiety issues. Not as bad as mine however) Everytime she attempted to push herself to talk with the other kids, they either ignored her or rudely rebuffed her efforts. It easily tossed her right back into the shell she was already hiding in, even in her old home she was shy, but her friends had helped her to be less introverted.
Once the school bell finely rang, she knew she'd be free to leave and hide away all the sooner. She couldn't wait. The called her names, and she gritted her teeth, trying her best to ignore it. 'They don't even know me.' She sniffled, holding back tears. 'Why'd we have to move? At least I had friends who cared about the in (Town name)...' She huffed a little, no longer paying attention to her surroundings.
She yelped, having crushed into someone. Her little (S/c) cheeks flushed red from embarrassment, and taking a step back, she murmured an apology, keeping her eyes glued to her feet. An overwhelming amount of embarrassment and fear washed over her, not hearing even a sigh of frustration or growl of annoyance. Not. A. Sound. Slowly she shifted her (E/c) orbs up from the floor to see who was in front of her, only to find it was a blonde boy around 8 inches taller than her and at least two years older than her. His blonde hair was dirty, long and messy, it covered most of his face, making it difficult for her to see his eyes, but she could see his mouth. He seemed indifferent to her, but she was his focus at the moment.

She managed to raise her face up, to look at him better, clutching onto her books as if they were her only hope for life. He tilted his head to the , still not saying a word, but he soon pulled his book bag back up onto his shoulder. Just from the fact he was taller was enough to intimidate her, but now with the unending silence and his apparent indifference it was quite a lot.
"I-I'm sorry, I-I d-didn't m-mean to bump i-into y-you.... " she shyly stuttered, looking back down at her feet.
"It's alright. " he spoke a bit quietly, but it was loud enough for her to hear. She looked up again, with a surprised and curious look plastered on her face. He was smiling lightly, but it.... Was hallow.
"I-I'm (Y-y/n)." she squeaked, desperately hoping, as odd as it was, that she might be able to at least greet one person today. Even if it was just an intimidating boy she bumped into.
"I'm Michael." He replied and his smile grew warmer, seeming to have life to it. Was... Was he bullied too? "You're new aren't you? " He asked, tilting his head again. She only managed to nod as a response. He leaned in a little, his locks of blonde hair moving and better showed off his deep, ocean blue eyes that held a soft glimmer of true life. "When's you move here?" He asked
"A-a week a-ago." She answered a bit mesmerized. He nodded his head and then walked away. That left her in even more of a daze. However he'd listened to her and didn't act rude, aside from just walking away, though he looked like he was in just as much of a hurry as she was to leave, so it didn't bother her much.
'Micheal'
It was somewhere around six in the morning, the early morning rays of sunshine poured into your room, through the thin, lightly colored curtains. You were already awake, lying in bed quietly, staring at the ceiling. Most of your days started like this; awake before the sun and often in bed before the moon rose. It was an annoying routine that was out of your control, so you had adapted. Speaking of routine, you smiled hearing your precious pet cat, meowing as he hopped onto your bed. He was an unusual breed, an Egyptian Mao. He was a gorgeous, silvery-white coat, with grey-black spots and very large. In fact he was big enough to easily be mistaken for a wild cat, like a lynx or bobcat, say for that silver coat. He wasn't, he was a big softie, always seeking love and affection from you.
"Good morning, Salt." You hummed, reaching for the large Tom's head. The cat purred loudly, also like the rumbling of an oncoming train, leaning futher into your hand , easily pushing your hand back without meaning to making you chuckle " I love you too now let me get dressed and I'll get your breakfast." You cooed at him and he meowed in response, lazily hopping off your bed and returning to his own, fluffed pillow in place of a real pet bed. You sighed a little, almost feeling the urge to yawn as you swung your legs out of bed and stood up, stretching. You hummed a little tune getting yourself dressed for the day. In light blue long sleeve shirt and comfy basketball shorts. You had also put on a sports bra, you've liked them better than a regular bra as they made you feel more comfortable out and about. You walk to the body length mirror you had next to your dresser drawer and looked yourself over.

Pleased with your outfit you called for your cat and open the door. Salt shot up from his comfortable pillow bed and rushed out the door with almost a natural speed, for such a large Tomcat. You giggled seeing him also rush downstairs as if he was a wild beast. He was usually mellow but when it came to food he was unstoppable. Nothing would ever stand in his way of his breakfast, lunch, and dinner. That was his one and only flaw for the otherwise loving cat. You closed your bedroom door behind you and carefully trotted down the stairs walking into the kitchen to see you're hungry feline perched atop the counter looking somewhat in patiently at you. He set with it perfect posture cats had with his tail swaying behind in a slightly erratic manner signaling that he was impatient. You playfully smirked at him and put your hands on your hips.
"Well what do you want? " you tease him in a mock tone. He yowled and raised his front paws up at you demanding that you come closer and give him food. "That's no way to talk to a lady, Salt." You scolded playfully wagging your finger at him as if he was a little boy disobeying his parent figure. To an extent you were. He yowled again and lowered his paws, standing up and walked to the edge of the counter. This time he meowsed sweetly at you, watching you closely as you walk towards him "That's better my big strong boy." You smile petting him a few times before doing what it was that he wanted; retrieving his breakfast for him.
You open the fridge and grab the baggie filled with his breakfast. It was very special;you made a batch of it every two weeks or so. Fresh meat was the main ingredient. So you grabbed his food dish and filled it with the pâté mix, while he eagerly awaited you to give him his breakfast. The second you place the dish in front of him, he began wolfing down his food, with lackluster manners. His piggish behaviors made you giggle and you were soon off to feed yourself.Bacon and eggs delish~
You hummed your previous tune while you cooked. The relative silence beyond your cat and the sizzling of the pan comfort. Most would find the odd silence and unsettling, but not you. You were used to it, you've been on your own for the last three years. So the silence never bothered you especially not after leaving your home when your father remarried. She had seemed to be a nice enough woman but she she treated you as if you were simply her stepchild especially after her twins were born you love the two girls, however the way she talked to you how she demand your respect despite the fact she never earned it from you made it difficult for you to accept them sometimes. Though you never felt spite towards them. They were innocent, they didn't deserve any hatred from you.
Your silvery cat finish cleaning his bowl and face before you even began to your food and now he was watching you once more, wanting your attention "Awww, already done?" You smiled at him, scratching his neck "I'll let you go out after I'm done eating, silly boy" You gently poked his nose. He yelled in protest, hopping off the counter and finding his way to one of the front windows to see the outside world. you simply rolled your eyes and sat down to eat your breakfast in silence. There was nothing that could bother you except perhaps any obnoxious noises your cat might decide to make.
As you had finished your breakfast you looked at the clock; it was barely seven. You had at least 3 hours to kill before you work. You sighed, sitting back in your seat to gettibg lost in thought. You had work today but you'd much rather be doing something to the house. You had basement and floorboard sure'd up also you had most of the first floors walls fixed and painted but there was still the entire upstairs that needed repairs. You hadn't even put white paint up to cover up all the filth from years of neglect. As you thought in relative silence on that what you do to improve your living environment, the loud yowling of your cat pulled you from your thoughts.
He was sitting on the table directly in front of you with your plate at his feet. Now that he could see he had your undivided attention, he yowled and stood up, hopped off the table and ran to the back door scratching at it for a moment for looking back towards you. "Okay, okay, I'll let you out, Salt" You smiled standing up and walked to the back door, gently push it open and he went bolting out off into the suburban jungle. There was no worries about him getting hurt out there in Haddonfield he knew how to navigate a safely around roadways, usually involving some kind of unnatural self-awareness of cars. You stared at the door for a moment in silence then closed it. 'I need to replace the doors and get a doggie door for Salt' you start picking up your plate and salt's bowl. You hummed softly, thinking about what else was of an immediate concern to fix or replace. The windows, however those would require professionals to replace. honestly the doors did as well but you had to replaced them before, having some experience from helping your dad on a few small construction jobs.
Well you still had three hours to kill. You spent most of those three hours upstairs, on the balcony writing. You could watch everyone walked by you, completely unaware of your presence. It helped you with your writing; you did write a mix of things, usually horror, built on the victims being utterly unaware that the killer was walking amongst them the whole time, patiently waiting to make their move. This current story had multiple killers, one of which was present from the very beginning. One was a shapeshifter, taking the shape of a beautifully detailed orange and purple dragon, comforting them with false truths, promising protecting a real danger that came in the form of a copycat killer, who's original intentions for taking on the Persona were good, but as they have grown to truly believe themselves to be the killer, those intentions had become twisted over time. ( hint, hint. Potential plot lines for some other X readers involving the slashers you all know and love)
You sighed, sipping your iced coffee latte, and began reading over a few of the pages, reviewing them to make sure the plot was coherent and you weren't repeating any established information. "Hey, Killer Queen!" You looked up from the pages, and then down at the familiar voice. It was Laurie Strode and her friends, Annie and Linda, they were all standing just inside the Gated yard, figuring that you were up on the balcony, as you often were when they came to visit you when your home. you started to like the Strode girl ever since you had met her. She was the one who brought up her dad's selling the old Myers' house and hell she was simply just good company, so you had plenty of reasons to like her and be friends with her. Not so much here friends you didn't care much for them.
You smiled ,rolling your eyes and stood up off the floor. "What's up, peasants?"You spoke in a fake upper-class tone. "Come to see what you're Master's up to?" The girls all laughed, walking closer to the house, so they were directly below you.
"We're just stopping by to see if you have anything new for us to read." Annie stated, walking up to the door, put it in one of the complete copies through the mail slot. The trio heads actually were dans of your books, and Luarie was the one who happened to spot you writing and asked you about it. The girls knew more about your less terrifying books, but they enjoyed them just the same from time to time. You didn't even mind letting them occasionally read your early drafts, they gave you good ideas and suggestions when they weren't busy being boy crazy.
"Not yet, I might have a few chapters ready for you tomorrow." You answered leaning on the railings.
" oh come on, nothing steamy?" Linda said in a suggestive tone it's in her chest shake a little.
"Well, at least I can tell your parents you're getting your smut from someone you trust." You joked, laughing a little and the three girls joined in for a moment. "No, I don't have anything, unless you girls want to borrow one of my other books again."
" we'll pass. "they almost spoke in unison.
"Alrighty, I'll see you girls tomorrow then." You smiled, backing away from the railings and sat back down.
" see you first thing, chili Queen! Ari and her friends walked off giggling amongst ourselves. You watch them walk off, with a smile on your face. You shook your head. 'They're so stupid and Innocence, but so much fun to talk to.' You picked up the pages, making sure they were in order. you had about half the book complete, so you could take a break for a while if you really wanted to. It was only about thirty minutes until you were supposed to be at work, so getting in early wouldn't hurt.
( wow. Almost 3000 words for the first chapter. Rip my sanity~ 💮 Masky)
