Carson: Look, I really want to.. But I can't. My grandmother's condition is getting worse.. Why? Is there a problem? Darren's been taking good care of you, right? If he's not, tell me at once, okay?
Me: No, no. It's fine, I just.. miss you..
Carson: I miss you too, Alexis. Don't worry.. I'll come back soon. Okay? Love you.
Me: Love you too.

I sighed, plopping on my bed,
Alexis, what did you just do?
--
*Riiiiing!!*
I woke up from my awfully long sleep as I checked the time.
Holy nuts! I'm going to be late for school!
I did my morning routine then sprinting downstairs.
I gave Darren a quizzical look as he is eventually.. well, waiting for me.
"Are you waiting? You're going to be late." I said, rolling my eyes.
"No, it's okay. I'll drive you to school."
"No thanks. I'll walk."
"Don't be such a stubborn girl, let's go!" He said, messing up my hair.
I hesitantly got in his car and he drove off.
"So how's your morning?" He suddenly said.
"Did you just ask something like how I feel this morning?" I sarcastically asked.
"You heard me."
"I see what you're trying to do there." I scoffed.
"What?"
"The bet. You know, me falling for you. Nice try but it ain't gonna work on me."
"But I'm not trying anything. I'm just asking a question."
I silenced because now I just look as if I'm overrated and paranoid.
He flashed me a genuine smile and I rolled my eyes.
"What's with him smiling now?"
He really is bipolar.
I know nothing will be going on to school today, this day, thank God all my classes are Darren-free.
When I finally got off his car, I rushed to my best friend, Eve Cadillac.

Blonde hair, green eyes= Dream girl.
"Eeeeveee!!" I shouted,
"What's up?" She asked, still chewing on some gum.
"Ugh, you don't want to know!"
"Is it about that Darren guy?" She giggled.
"Yeah, and what's with the giggle?!"
"I think you're into him." She said, eyeing on me.
"What are you saying? I have a boyfriend."
"So do I. But they left us."
"But still."
"Hey, I banged Jason last night." She said nonchalantly.
"Jason?! No way!"
"Yes way. He's really good in bed."
"I guess you really moved on, didn't you?"
"Heck yeah. I don't care a single thing about him anymore!" Eve scowled.
That's right, Eve has a boyfriend.
His name is Danny Castillo.
Don't get me wrong, Eve isn't a slut or what you think she is.
She's a really awesome girl but sadly, Danny--
He's just really into girls. There's no official confirmation they broke up or anything like that.
Eve is not even sure about their relationship.
All I know is, Eve cried for days because of Danny.
Danny is her first love, and when she knew about Danny's sort of like an addiction to girls..
She was hurt, I was the witness of all her crying and it ain't pretty.
They say time heals a broken heart but I know behind that 'I don't care' attitude of hers, deep inside there's still a hidden 'I miss you so bad' feeling.
So Danny left and went to flirt on some girls while Eve did the same.
That was the ending of their love story, but something tells me there's something weird with Danny.
I don't know what it is but there's something up with that guy both Eve and I don't understand.
"So I was saying, I think you like him." Eve suddenly started.

"How can I ever like such a bipolar guy?" I scowled.
"It's not that, okay? I think you really like him. The way you blush when you talk about him--"
"That's.. not true.."
Although I admit, Darren's pretty hot.
I can't help blushing, alright?
"Look, just because Carson pays all your house and education bills doesn't mean you love him, okay? Sometimes I wanted to slap you to make you realize your feelings for Carson is just pity." Eve said.
"Eve! Stop it. That is all not true!"
"But--"
"Stop it, Eve!"
"Fine..." Eve replied, rolling her eyes.
But it's all true. Eversince my parents died, Carson's been the one supporting my needs..
I admit, I really feel as if I owe him a lot of things.
Part-time jobs aren't enough, I can't pay for my own meals with the money I made.
Not to mention, electric bills and such. My tuition fees and more.
I owe it all to Carson, but what Eve said isn't true.
Because I love Carson for who he is and not because of what he does for me.

*Brrrriiiing!!!*
The dismissal bell rang, classes were normal as always.
I was doodling on my notebook, to be honest.
I was really bored.
I shoved my things inside my bag and Eve walked towards me.
"So Alexis, I was thinking---"
"Oh, I know that tone of voice. My answer is a solid 'No'." I replied.
"But Alexis! It's been a while since we had a party at your place." Eve pouted.
"Do it in someone else's place."
"Noo, I want it to be in your house. I've grown attached to it."
"Look, Carson told me he doesn't want me to go to parties without him. Remember the redhead incident?" I asked, shuddering as I remembered that awful experience.
I can't take alcohol and I get drunk easily.
That's why Carson's always there with me to watch my every move and protect me if ever.
The redhead incident was in one of the parties Eve organized at my place.
Alcohol filled the air, dancing topless girls, you get the picture.
I was really drunk, Carson went to the bathroom, when he got back, he saw me with some chubby, redhead nerd, making out.
I was unconscious and I didn't remember that but Carson told me everything.
If it wasn't for him, that guy *would* have taken advantage of me already.
"Just because he is gone doesn't mean we can't have fun." Eve pouted.
"But Eve, remember the redhead incident? What if that happens again?" I sighed.
I honestly love parties organized by Eve.
But I just never went to one without Carson.
"Nonsense, I'm here for you." She winked.
"Oh yeah? The second you get your hands on a boy you already leave me somewhere." I said, sticking out my tongue on her.
"Aw, come on Alexis! I promise this time, pleassseeeeeee.... just once? I'll never leave your side!" She says, holding her right hand up.
"F-Fine." I sighed in frustration.
"Yaaay! I totally can't wait!"
"You promised, okay???"
"Yes yes."
Then Eve started to invite her so-called party list.
Oh boy, I'm really going to party without Carson..
Would everything be fine?
