《Living With My Bully》Ch. 21 Dad Problems and Prom Problems

Right before this chapter starts I just wanna say, I'm not very familiar with 'prom' so if I get anything wrong, I'm sorry, I just don't really know what happens when it comes to prom🤷♀️ It could be different in other places so yeah..
"So you still come up here, huh?"
I jump slightly, "Richard?! What are you doing up here?" I ask him, shocked. "Oh come on, I'm your father Oliver. This was our spot. I knew you'd be up here." He chuckles, walking over and sitting down next to me. I scoot over a bit, feeling my eyes water. Seeing him just makes me want to cry sometimes? Y'know?
He sighs softly, "Oliver, please talk to me. I want to know what's wrong." He says, frowning. "I just don't understand why you left." I look over at him, tears starting to roll down my face, "You told me you wouldn't so why?" I ask. He looks shocked seeing me cry but then he frowns, "Your mother and I started arguing after the incident, she didn't want to support me anymore if she knew I'd get hurt like this..you know that." He replies.
"Why'd you have to get hurt in that fight? Maybe if you were better at boxing, none of this wouldn't of happened." I look away, getting frustrated. "If I was better at boxing?" He scoffs, "I think you're forgetting who taught you everything you know." He says. I stay silent, swallowing hard, "Not everything. Uncle James taught me after you left."
"I heard." He mumbles, "I also heard that you started street fighting." He adds. "Yeah I did," I sigh, "so did your other pupil." I tell him.
His eyes widen, "You mean that other boy who always wore a mask?" He thinks for a moment, "didn't he call himself like 'The Reaper' or something?" He asks. "Yeah," I nod then raise an eyebrow at him, "What other pupil would I be referring to?" I ask. "I'm just making sure I was right." He shrugs, "so how is he anyway?" He asks.
"I hate him now." My dad looks shocked, "We were good friends but now that I found out who it is..I don't want him near me anymore." I tell him. "Oliver, why?" He asks, looking a bit concerned. Maybe because you favored him more than me? "He's now the number one street fighter here..even after I beat him-"

"Wait, you beat him and he's still number one?" He cocks an eyebrows. I nod, "Yeah, it's stupid." I shake my head at the thought. "So why didn't you ever tell me who was under the mask?" I ask. "He told me not to tell you..he didn't want you to be mad at him or something." He answers, shrugging.
"Well, I'm mad now." I say, causing my dad to chuckle. "Did you ever think I would've had a chance to beat him? I remember you saying he was excelling at everything and that I was a bit slow and nervous to learn.." I ask him. He thinks for a moment, "You had a good chance, Oliver, believe me." He replies. I just nod.
I stare at my dad for a moment, "I know that it may be too late but, please tell me secrets from now on." I smile a bit. "Of course, Oliver." He smiles back.
It's silent for a moment.
"So, about Iris-"
I groan, "Seriously?" I mumble. "What?" He holds his hands up in surrender, "I just wanna ask some questions, that's it." He says. I roll my eyes, "Fine." I mutter.
"Does she know about you street fighting?" He asks. "Yeah actually. She came to one of my fights before." I answer. The one against .. "Wow, really? Was she worried for you? Did she wish you luck?" He asks, a smirk tugging at his lips.
I remember how she ran into my arms, whispering good luck in my ear. I can't help but smile at the memory. "Yeah she did.." I say barely a whisper. "Aw, you really do like her, you've got a big goofy grin on your face." He laughs.
My face flushes and I look away from him, still smiling.
"Your mom did the same thing."
I look over at him. He's staring up at the sky, a small smile on his face. "D- Richard?" He looks over at me confused, "are you happy with your new family?" I ask him. "Well, of course I am." He smiles at the thought of them. I couldn't help but frown. Of course I want him to be happy..it just hurts I guess...
"But that doesn't mean I wasn't happy with you as well. I still love you and your sister very much." He says, smiling at me. My lips quirk up into a smile. "We love you too, dad." I say. His smile widens hearing this. I guess my dad isn't that bad..

"But you still have to tell me about Iris." He tells me. I groan, rolling my eyes. There goes our moment..
•••Iris' POV•••
"Iris c'mon, it'll be fun!" Kayla tries to convince me. "Working with Addison on the prom committee will not be fun. Also, don't you have to be a senior to join the prom committee?" I remind her, raising an eyebrow. She pauses, thinking for a moment. "Oh...I'm not sure actually. Most likely though." She replies, shrugging.
"Anyway, speaking of prom, has Adam asked you yet?" I ask, grinning at her. She blushes, "Not yet. But he still has enough time to ask me..if he will." She says. "Of course he will!" I tell her, smiling wide at her. She giggles.
"And what about you, Iris?" She asks, smirking. I raise an eyebrow at her, "What about me?" I reply. She shakes her head, "Girl, I'm not blind, I know there's something going on between you two. Has Oliver asked you yet?" She asks. My eyes widen and my face heats up, I look away. "Oliver - we're not - he's not - I don't -"
Kayla interrupts me, "Oh my gosh, I'm not blind! I notice the little glances, the flirting, the winking. Iris, when it comes to you and Oliver, I am the all seeing eye. So stop acting dumb and admit it! You like him, don't you?" She teases, poking my red face.
"Kayla, I...I don't like him-"
"You hesitated."
I shoot her a glare and she smiles innocently. "Kayla, I've honestly never thought about it. Is it possible?..yeah, I guess it is..." I tell her. Her smile turns into a grin, then she freezes for a minute. "Kayla, what's wrong?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
She then sighs in relief, "Never mind, I just thought I saw Adam, but it wasn't him. But Terrence is walking this way." She says. What?
"Hey guys!" I hear.
I turn to face him. "Hey Terrence!" I greet, smiling politely. "Hey." Kayla greets casually.
"So Iris, I was wondering..are you busy later?" He asks. Ruby's recital! "Actually yeah I am." I answer, "Why?" I ask. "Oh, I was gonna ask if you wanted to hang out. We could've went to see a movie in the theater here in the mall and gone somewhere for dinner." He replies. "Oh, sorry, maybe some other time?" I smile sympathetically.
"Friday!" He shouts. His eyes widen and he clears his throat, "Friday?" He repeats calmer. I raise an eyebrow but brush it off, "Well, I don't think I'm busy then, so yeah, that's great." I say. His eyes light up, "Awesome! Would you prefer I pick you up or-"
My eyes widen. "No, I'll meet you here at the theater." I reply. "Okay.." he raises an eyebrow but shrugs it off, "We can meet here at 6:30." He says. "Friday. 6:30. Got it." I smile at him. "I'll see you then." He winks at me and walks away.
I turn to face Kayla. "Is that supposed to be a date?" She asks. "No!..I don't think so.." I look down, confused.
She thinks for a moment, then gasps. "Iris, do you think he'll ask you to prom?" Kayla asks. My eyes widen, "You think?" I reply. "You never know." She shrugs, "He's been showing interest in you." She says.
"I know..I'm just not sure if I really like him back though..." I mumble, loud enough for only the two of us to hear. "Cause you like Oliver~" She teases in a sing songy tone. I smack her arm, blushing. "Shut up!" I exclaim. She giggles.

Heyo!! I like this chapter 🙃
Oliver is so cute wth like he's blushing and he's smiling. I love this side of him. Will it last forever? Good question 🤷♀️
What's a ship name for Iris and Terrence? I can't think of one surprisingly (Terris ?? pffttt)
I wanna know how many of you ship Oliver x Iris or Terrence x Iris? Or both? Or maybe you're into other ships from the story? Feel free to comment about them!
And of course if you enjoyed this chapter please like, comment, and leave feedback! Thanks! Bye bye!
