《The Son Of Artemis book 3》Chapter 1: A Distressed Percy

We picked up Percy from camp a week ago, and we can all tell something is really bothering him. I told the hunters to allow me to deal with it because even if they are close with Percy, they act like siblings, and by that I mean they act like Poseidon, Zeus, and Hades. Everything between each other is fine, but the moment someone outside joins in they band together and defend each other.

By the end of said first week I knew it was something that I needed to talk to him about and it was not something that he was pent up about.

I went over to his tent, only to find him on his bed with his knees to his chest. I went over to sit next to him on his bed, and pulled him into a hug. "Percy what is wrong my son" I asked

He stayed silent for a long moment, before speaking up, "I'm scared" he said barely above a whisper.

"About" I questioned

"That you and my sisters will hate me" he said just as quietly.

Ok I was a little furious at that, who in the name of Hades was spreading lies to my son about me hating him. "Why would you believe that. We raised you and love you. In all honesty I don't think I am capable of hating you at this point" I said

Percy then mumbled something so quietly that even with godly hearing I didn't hear it, in all honesty I was pretty sure he was just mouthing the words.

"Percy, will you please speak up so that I can hear you" I asked softly.

"Because of what I saw from the Sirens, and I'm worried it might actually be true" He whispered again looking away from me. Now this was interesting as none with the power of sight, even though Percy is very minimal with it, only being able to see a few seconds into the future at most when not dreaming, has heard the sirens. Oh how Athena would be interested in this.

"And what did you see from them" I asked

Percy went on and explained the whole vision and I found it honestly hilarious that the other gods started appearing each time he blinked to try and block out the thoughts, but I could see what he was truly worried about because of the end.

"So do you know this unknown girl now" I asked, and he nodded

"well who is she" I asked

"Thalia" he responded

...

...

By Chaos this is going to be complicated. Aphrodite I swear if you are messing with my son's love life I will throw you into the void.

'Geez no need to be so violent arty and I am not messing with his love life' she replied through mind messaging.

I had so many things I could have said to reply to that but my son took precedence. "And why are you so concerned about that" I asked though I already knew the reason why, his fatal flaw, which has already tied himself to Annabeth has also tied himself to Thalia as well.

"because I think I like her like how I like Annabeth" he replied, once again likely because of his fatal flaw.

"well is it similar to how you feel about your sisters" I asked, and he shook his head no, which I already knew, "then what about your friend Clarisse" I continued and once again he shook his head no.

I sighed, knowing one of a few things were going to happen, either he will end up heartbroken himself, breaking either Thalia's or Annabeth's heart, or end up in a polyamorous relationship. And in all honesty even though I may not like it, the option I hope for is the last one.

Why do the fates have to be so cruel to my son, now, placing him in a situation that conflicts with his upbringing as we always told him we would be fine if he found a love and didn't break said girl's heart, but we never considered the possibility of two or more, and kinda discouraged that train of thought.

"Percy, my son, we both know I'm not a love goddess, nor experienced in this sort of thing, but I'm pretty sure we both know you love them, and not in the familial or siblingly way" I stated, which he just nodded glumly too.

"However, I don't think it is of my power to question your fate, as neither I nor Apollo foresaw this development as we did the Roman one, which has yet to come" I said

"What am I supposed to do, mom" He asked crying a little into my shoulder.

"I am unsure, but I do not want to see any of you three broken hearted. Just know that no matter what happens concerning this matter, I will support your decision" I said, and that seemed to take most of his worries away as he hugged me tightly.

"What of my sisters" He asked

"i'm sure they will support your decision as well once you explain it to them" I said answering him, which relieved the last of his worries of the matter concerning me and his sisters.

"what...what if they don't feel the same way about me as I do them" he asked and this is where my area of understanding and knowledge ran out so I decided to wing it.

"well we already know Annabeth is close to you , and likes you as you like her. So tell me of your interactions with Thalia" I said

He began telling me, and I knew that there would be a slight bias because of his feelings clouding the issue, but the way he described their interactions just made me believe that my third hypothesis of possible outcomes is the most likely of outcomes.

"Well it seems to me as if she likes you two, though I wouldn't push a more official relationship with either yet until all three of you can bond more" I replied as Percy yawned tired as he held onto my side.

This reminded me of years ago before he had his own tent, when he would cuddle up to me to go to sleep. I laid back and waited for him to fall asleep, before eventually getting up and leaving his tent to retire to my own.
