《Artemis》16

We stayed that night in Athens in a small hotel with a incredibly loud family right next door, the sound of their screaming and squealing practically keeping us up all night. And let me tell you, a sleep deprived Jaxon is a scary Jaxon.
I chuckled as he grumbled yet again while we finally exited the airport. His father called us right before we deported from Greece, the Rogues had grown even worse than before we left and they were worried we would find some at the airport.
So far we were doing fine, no Rogues and no Hunters just yet.
The trip back was short, my eyes scanning practically everyone we passed in the airport. We got back home around nine in the morning, my body growing tired and sore from both jet lag and the awful airplane seats. I groaned as we reached Jaxon's bed, running and jumping dramatically onto it.
"This is heaven, this bed, it actually heaven." I heard him chuckle behind me as I just tore my shoes off and buried myself deeper into the bed, the huge king size mattress and duvet practically swallowing me whole.
"We sleep for a few hours, but then we have to train the pack." I nodded and mumbled some kind of response, inhaling Jaxon's scent off the sheets below me.
His arm wrapped around me and pulled me closer to him, his body hear radiating off of his skin. Okay, I lied before. This was heaven, not just the mattress and bed, but Jaxon and the bed.
God that sounds perverted.
-
"Art, wake up." I waved my hand, trying to push away whatever was trying to wake me up.
"Artemis, you need to get up." Okay, new voice. This one sounded more feminine, but all I did was groan and try to growl like Jaxon does when I try to wake him up. All I received was a few chuckles as I pulled the blanket closer to me.
"Art, I'll let you get drunk tonight at a pack party." And I care why?
"Okay, how about we have a Bob's Burger marathon and eat all the ice cream you want?" Now I'm up. I pushed myself up hastily and looked at a chuckling Jaxon and Mona, who just shook her head at me.
"Come on, we have some wolves to kick into shape." I groaned and rubbed my eyes, falling out of bed and onto the floor.
I groaned even louder into the hardwood, pushing myself up and into the bathroom with half lidded eyes. Jet lag was seriously a bitch, I almost fell asleep right then and there in the shower, standing.

"We're never flying anywhere ever again. We'll just take a boat, or run, or drive something." Jaxon laughed as I got dressed, watching from his perch at the corner of the bed.
"Just a warning, Rileys excited." I followed him out the bedroom door and down the stairs to outside, my eyes looking over the group of wolves standing in straight lines.
"Holy shit." In front of everyone Jaxon's father stood, staring at the wolves like a marine commander. His face was completely blank and devoid of emotion, his power practically rolling off of him.
He turned and grinned to me and his son before turning and wiping it off, gritting his teeth as we came to stand next to him.
"Rogues and Hunters are growing worse and worse, the only reason we haven't been fully attacked is because your Alphas mate. She has put wards around my territory, for two months now. She is here to show us how to fight, because you all obviously aren't up to par with her!"
He barked out at them, making even me cringe. Gone was the softy I had grown to known, hello to the terrifying Alpha that will kill everyone and not bat an eye. My eyes widened as I stared at him, glancing between him and Jaxon who had a similar blank expression.
"Now, if you will Artemis." He looked at me expectedly, my eyebrows shooting up.
"Uh," Jaxon pushed me forward a bit, nodding to the group and giving me a small smile of encouragement. Encouragement for what, I'm not exactly sure, so I guess I'm just going to have to wing it.
"Okay maggots?" I grimaced as it came out as a question, cursing myself inwardly before shaking my head and shooting Riley a glare since he let out a chuckle. "Basically, I'm going to work your asses off. If anyone can catch me, and take this bandana off my waist, you don't have to train. I know you're all apprehensive of training, but sucks to suck. If I take your bandana, you're out"
I knew they didn't want to take me seriously, hell even I wouldn't take me seriously. I'm a small girl with dark hair and I smell human, I look weak, but I know I'm not. I grin to myself and tied the bandana, watching as they each took a bandana and tied it to their midsection. I whirled the bandana around in a small circle, winking to a slightly shocked Jaxon.
"Come on boys." The big meathead warriors grunted and took off, closing he distance between us quickly.
I grinned and ran at them, watching their faces contort into confusion before I leaped and dialed over them. I flipped midair and landed back in a crouch behind them, spinning and watching their shocked faces.

"Gotta be faster than that." With that I took off into the trees, smiling as they all took off in their own directions.
I climbed a tree and smelt the wind, using the breeze to help me pinpoint their locations. I jumped from each tree until I stood over one of the bigger warriors, crouched at the base of a tree. I climbed the base of it noiselessly, hanging upside down right behind him.
I used my powers to untie the bandana, snatching it out of midair. I chuckled, causing him to shoot up in surprise and whirl around. "Bandana one."
He looked at his own waist before growling and sighing in defeat, looking back at me. "Run around the perimeter, then one hundred of both push ups and sit ups. Twenty burpees, thirty Russian twists, and make sure Jaxon sees you do it."
He grumbled but nods anyway, and sets out on his jog around the perimeter. The entire game goes mostly like that, with only a few complaints from girls that would've hung out with Kendra. When I get to the last competitor, I smile and job alongside him.
I run the perimeter before doing exactly what I asked of everyone else to do, it wouldn't be fair to not do it with them, would it?
I smile as they all finish and head inside, some laying panting on the grass. Riley decides then to bound up to me, Mona not far behind him. He looks so much like an excited puppy it makes me laugh, along with Jaxon who read my mind.
"Yes Riley?" He rolls my eyes at the condescending tone but jumps anyway.
"Okay, I need to see your powers. I wanted to wait till we were out of Greece because those Gods were kinda dicks," Cue Thunder rolling from the clouds above us. "Sort, but you were! Anyway, show me your powers, please!"
I chuckle again, looking at the remaining wolves around us. There were only about two or three, and they were really paying much attention, so I smiled and nodded my head. I kissed Jaxon on his cheek slightly before walking and standing in the direct middle of the field. I shut my eyes and called up the earth, the rain, the thunder, letting all my powers flow through me.
I opened my eyes as lightening cracked, zipping through the air and striking my body. I raised my hands and reveled in it, reveled int he electricity flowing through my very veins. I grinned and flew it around, creating shapes and creatures out of the lightening.
It reminded me of the patronus that J.k. Rowling had written about in her book, except mine shown a brilliant white while hers were often blue. In case you were wondering, she's a witch too.
I smiled and dance them around Jaxon, Mona and Riley, letting them touch the creatures without being zapped completely. It felt like a warm shock to them, instead of the usual agonizing pain that came with it.
I released the electricity since I felt more bodies come from the forest, my powers often calling out to other animals. I watched as a pack of wild wolves came running through the pasture, Mona's excited squeals being the only sound heard beyond their paws thumping on the Earths dirt.
The packs Alpha came to stand before me, bowing its entire body at my feet. The pack soon followed after, at least thirty wolves bowing before tipping their heads back and howling. Jaxon, Mona and Riley all followed soon after, howling into the fast changing night.
I smiled and bent down to pet his head, blowing softly into his ear. "I release you."
They all ran back into the woods, my eyes following them as they left. I turned back to Mona and Riley, who was practically jumping and buzzing with joy, and a beaming Jaxon. I felt my heart swell at the pride shining in his eyes, my body moving to slide into his side.
"You're amazing." He murmured into my ear before setting a gentle kiss right below it.
"That, was, so, awesome!" I chuckled as Rileys excitement, letting Jaxon lead my exhausted body back into the house.
"I'm going to take a fifteen hour nap, wake me if the house is on fire or is Jaxon decides to cook." I said as I broke off and began to walk up the stairs.
"If Jaxon decides to cook then the house will actually be on fire." Riley calls out, earning him a punch from Jaxon. I chuckled as I reach the top, pulling my hair from the messy ponytail I put it in earlier.
"I know, that's why I said if the house gets set on fire!"
"I heard that!" I laughed even harder as I forced myself to stay awake to take another shower, finally climbing into his humongous bed without any clothes on. Fifteen minute nap, here I come.
