《Craving Him | Completed》Chapter-27

Sam

Sam sat beside Rick on the dining table waiting for the vote results. Every pack member came and voted to decide weather they would let Sam stay in the pack house or not. The scowl on the Callum's faces and feared looks of other members of the pack was evidence enough, that these people were scared of going against the Callums. No matter how much the human society modernized, werewolves still held on to old norms. These people gave the old Callums more importance than their Alpha. The worry lines on Jordan's face told Sam what he had to know, the decision won't be in his favor. Sam gripped Rick's palm and he it squeezed back in assurance.

"The counting will take few hours, till then we will wait," Jordan announced, standing before the crowd.

"It's going to be alright," Rick whispered, leaning down and kissing Sam on top of his head. The pack members glared at his gesture while some members looked at them in shock. Sam felt self-conscious by Rick's blatant PDA, yet it filled his heart with joy.

An hour or so later, the team of people counting the votes came out with the results. The look of trouble in their faces didn't give out anything. Jordan took the results from their hands. He looked at Sam with disappointment then at Rick.

"700 out of 1025 members of Yoda pack voted against Sam's stay in the Pack."

Sam closed his eyes and took a deep breath. So, it was decided then, he had no place in the pack.

"What!" Rick shouted. "Are you kidding me?!"

"Rick, it's okay," Sam tried to calm him down but there was no stopping him.

"You fuck," Rick took one of the Callum's by his throat. "You scared them into voting against him, didn't you!"

"Stop Rick," Jordan growled, taking hold of him and pulling him back.

"No! I won't stop. How can you put up with this, Jordan?"

Jordan kept quiet. "Let go," that's all he said as he pulled Rick off Callum.

There was anger and sadness on Jordan's face. As much as Sam hated Jordan for not helping him, he understood his dilemma. He was the Alpha, he needed to keep things in order and going against his own pack people will break the pack apart.

"Can I talk to you for a second, Rick?" Sam mewled.

Rick turned around, the scowl on his face turning to concern. "You are not going anywhere, Sam." he said, placing a palm on his face.

"He has to. The people have decided," One of the Callums spoke up. Rick was about to strangle the old man to death but Sam stopped him.

"Come with me," Sam said as he pulled him through a door to an empty room.

"Rick," Sam went on his tip toes and circled both his hands around his shoulder.

"I have to go. It's the right thing to do."

"NO, it is not.."Rick started to say, full of frustration but Sam cut him off.

"Rick, Rick," Sam gripped his cheeks, making Rick focus on his face. "I don't mind. The world is vast. This pack is just a small place. I will find my way, Rick. David doesn't belong to any pack yet he is happy, I can be too."

Rick frowned. "You deserve a family, Sam."

Sam's throat closed up. Yes, he did want a family, he always did but it wasn't in his destiny to belong. His luck was written with dark ink, to be forever be a lone wolf.

"I will be fine." Sam said, gulping down the quiver in his voice.

"We will move to a different city," Rick said, determination in his voice.

"No! You have your future in the pack security. I can't take that away from you."

"It's nothing without you, you understand. Nothing," Rick leaned down and gave him a hard kiss.

Sam was delirious, all he wanted was to hide in Rick's arm and not think about the world. But that wasn't realistic. He couldn't pull Rick out of the pack just because he wanted him.

"I am gay too. They all know now. Why should I be here when they won't let you," Rick said pulling away.

"They will accept you, Rick. You have been part of Yoda pack for years and no one knew your sexual orientation. Me on the other had is a blatant reminder of what they are against."

"No, you are wrong. If they can't accept you, they can't accept me. I am over with hiding who I am. We will leave Yoda pack. Yes, that's what we will do." Rick said breathing heavy. He took Sam's hand and pulled him out of the room.

There was commotion in the living room. People surrounded a small area. Rick saw Mac, Jordan's older brother in a tussle with Carl. Tussle was an understatement, it was more like Mac pushing the kid against the wall and choking the life out of him.

"I might not be living with my family but that doesn't mean I will listen to any crap spoken about them," Mac growled. Being a moon wolf, he was one of those people every one was scared of. He were raising their girl child in the human world, just like her mother was raised.

"What is happening," Rick asked Isaac.

"Mac walked in when Carl was calling you a faggot."

Rick dashed forward to pull Mac away. "They are not worth your energy, Mac." Rick shouted.

"No one is going anywhere. I don't care what the vote said," Mac growled, turning towards the crowd of people and addressing them. "We have seen what happens when you try to hold on to old rotten ideas of a society. Remember what happened to Zia's pack?"

"It was unanimously decided..."

"Fuck your unanimous," Mac said pointing a finger at the Callum. "Your shitty talks couldn't save tens of people who died in the pack war. It was me and my brothers who saved them, so don't come and tell us what to do. If this pack breaks, you will be torn into pieces by enemy pack, is that what you want? Then move out of the pack like your callums want."

A shiver ran down through the crowd. People spoke in whispers about the possibilities of attacks from enemy pack.

"My brother and his mate will stay in the pack. If anyone disagrees, I will personally deal with them!"

Everyone cautiously took a step back, even all the Callums did. Sam looked at Jordan to find him holding a smirk. There was something fishy going on for sure.

"I wouldn't want that. You are after all the strongest wolf in existence," Jordan said, placing a hand on his brother's shoulder and dragging him away from the crowd. "I will talk to him personally." he said addressing the crowd.

There was tension in the room, people were tensed. They were probably scared Mac would do good on his promise, considering he wasn't the most stable of wolves. He had single-handedly killed a whole pack of werewolves when he went with Jordan to rescue his mate.

"If you can't provide us protection, why should we go with you?" a middle aged woman spoke up first. The others were quick to follow, probing questions at the Callums. They were bombarded, trying to reassure the crowd but failing miserably.

"Calm down," Jordan came and shouted. "As you all know Mac is quiet possessive about his family, so I can't take drastic measures. I would need your suggestion."

"We don't have any issues with the kid staying," the woman said. "It was the Callums who told us we had to vote against him."

Jordan raised an eyebrow. "Okay. Okay," he put his hands in the air to calm people down. "Seeing that there was definitely some fowl playing going on, the callums using their power to wrongfully influence people. I would have to give the verdict of cancelling the votes. I am letting Sam and Rick stay in the pack freely. If anyone had any issues, I would personally talk to them with my brother."

The threat behind Jordan's voice was real. No one was to fuck with his decision, and if they did the consequences would be bad.

I walked in the Garage and saw him working on something. He was wearing greasy and ragged jeans. For some reason the sight of him made me excited. I walked to Mac and stood near his feet.

"What do you want?" Mac asked in his deep irritated voice. This might have been the first time in the last three months I had heard him speak.

"Where is dad?" I asked.

"He is not here," Mac answered curtly.

"When will he be back?" I asked, craning my head to look at his face.

"I don't know," came the immediate response. He wiped his greasy hands on a dirty rag. His shirtless body glisened in the light. I had never seen a body like his. What the heck was he doing doing here?

"Go home,Cindy," He growled in warning. "You should stay away from me."
