Billy grunts in pain as he's shoved onto the hood of a police car, bent over while two officers arrest him. "All right, hold your hands together," One of the officers instructs him.
Deputy Dewey begins to 'read' him his Miranda rights. If you could call it that. "Do you wish to give up your right to remain silent?"
"I didn't do anything," Billy groans.
Dewey continues, "Do you wish to give up your right to speak to an attorney and have them present during questioning?"
Billy is whisked away by the two officers, "Ask her. She'll tell you."
Dewey approaches the sheriff's car. "What you got, Dewey?" Sheriff Burke asks.
"I caught him, Sheriff."
"Wait!" Billy calls out to Sheriff Burke.
"Who is that?" Burke asks before exiting the vehicle.
Dewey answers him, "Billy Loomis."
The two officers man-handling Loomis approach the back of the car they arrested him on.
"Sir, Sheriff, call these guys off. I didn't do it," Billy whines in discomfort, "Sheriff, wait. Wait, listen. Call my dad. Please call him. He'll tell you. Just call him," He begs.
One of the officers confines Billy in the back seat of the car. "Sidney! Sidney," he cries out to her as the car takes off.
"How're they doing?" Burke asks, referring to Sidney.
"Sid's tougher than she looks. Y/N's holding up," Dewey retorts.
"They'd have to be with all the shit they went through."
Dewey and Burke approach the ambulance you and Sid were seated in.
"Well, we're seeing a lot of you two today," Burke jokes.
"Are you both gonna be able to come down to the station and answer a few questions?" Dewey asks.
Tatum pulls up to the house in her red beetle. She practically jumps out of the car. "Oh shit! Sidney, Y/N! God, I'm so sorry I was late. Are you two alright?"
Dewey attempts to be authoritative, "Tatum, you can't be here. This is an official crime scene," he tugs Tatum's elbow. Tatum hardly reacts, brushing him off.
"It's okay," Sid assures.
"Their dad's out of town, alright? She's staying with us tonight," Tatum explains.
"Does mom know?" Dewey asks.
Tatum rolls her eyes, "Yes, doofus."
"Let's get y'all out of here," Burke hands you and Sidney off to Tatum. "They'll be okay." "Thanks," Tatum replies, putting her arm around Sid. She escorts both of you to another police car.
"Oh, you won't believe this," Dewey says to Burke. Dewey grabs the Ghostface mask, giving it to Burke. "Creepy, huh?"
The Top Story news van parks in front of the Prescott home. Gale Weathers exits the van, snapping at her cameraman to start rolling. She starts towards the car you and Sid sat in. "Y/N and Sidney, is that you in there?" Gale doesn't let the car driving off deter her, and she approaches Tatum. "Excuse me, is that Sidney and Y/N Prescott they took away?"
Tatum huffs, "I'm not talking to you."
"What happened to them?" Gale pushes.
Tatum walks to her car with Gale on her trail. "None of your damn business."

"I heard something about a costume. Is that true?" At this point, Tatum was already in her car, starting the engine. "Can you tell me anything?" Gale knocks on her passenger window.
"Yeah, you're a real pain in the ass! Leave them alone," Tatum says before driving off.
At the police station, you and Sid sit next to Dewey's desk.
"Did you find him?" Sid asks.
Dewey looks away from his computer, "You sure it was the Hilton?"
"At the airport," You say.
"He's not registered there."
Sid rubs her forehead, frustrated.
"Could he have stayed somewhere else?" Dewey suggests.
"I don't know. I guess," Sid croaks, sniffling.
"Don't worry. We'll find him," He says sincerely, trying to soothe both of your worries.
An officer drops by, leaving a report on Dewey's desk. "Dewey, they got that mask in."
Dewey grabs the report, standing up, "I'll be right back."
Sidney turns her head towards Sheriff Burke's office. She and Billy make direct eye contact. He was practically burning holes into the back of her head the entire time you and she spoke to Dewey.
You left to go find Tatum.
Billy and his father were seated in Sheriff Burke's office. The Sheriff walked in after them, shutting the door. "What're you doin' with a cellular telephone, son?"
"Everybody's got one, Sheriff. I didn't make those calls, I swear," Billy swore.
Mr. Loomis pipes up, "Why don't you check the phone bill, for Christ's sake? Call Vital Phone Comp. They got the records of every number dialed."
"Thanks, Hank. We're on top of it," Burke snidely says, clearly not liking Mr. Loomis telling him how to do his job. "What were you doing over at the Prescott's tonight?"
Billy shrugs, "I wanted to see Sidney, that's all."
"And last night? Sidney said you crawled through her window last night too. Y/N attested to it."
Hank turns to his son, "You went out last night?"
Billy glances at both men, "I was watching T.V. I got bored. I decided to go for a ride."
"Did you happen to ride by Cassie Becker's house?" Burke alleges.
"No. No, I didn't. Sheriff, I didn't kill anybody!" Billy denies it in all seriousness.
"We're gonna have to hold you, son, 'til we get those phone records," Burke explains.
Billy looks up at him, "That's crazy. You know that?" He turns to his father, "I didn't do it."
Burke furrows his brows but doesn't say another word.
Billy turns around to look at Sid again, but this time she turns away.
Two officers grab Billy and drag him out of Burke's office.
Billy cranes his neck to look at his father. "Tell 'em. Come on, dad. Tell 'em!"
"He's waiting on the lawyer, Billy."
He spots Sidney sitting at Dewey's desk, alone. "Sidney! Sidney, come on. You know me. Sidney, look at me! Come on!" He's tugged into another room by the officers.
You and Tatum witnessed everything in passing.
You look at your sister, worried for her own sake.

Tatum approaches first, wrapping her arm around her shoulder. "Sid, we're gonna get you out of here, okay?"
"Are you okay?" You ask, already knowing the answer.
Sidney sniffles, bringing her hand up to her mouth.
Dewey and Burke stood off to the side. Dewey presents a Halloween costume and hands it to Burke. "They sell this costume at every five-and-dime in the state. There's no way to track the purchase."
Inside the bag was the Ghostface mask and black cloth. Burke turned over the costume bag to see an image of the whole costume labeled 'Father Death.' He raises his brow, looking over to Dewey. "What about that cellular phone bill?"
"Well, we're pulling Loomis' account. We won't know anything until the morning."
Tatum groans, getting impatient.
"You think he did it?" Dewey asks Burke.
"Twenty years ago, I would've said, 'Not a chance.' But these kids today...damned if I know," Burke scoffs.
Tatum speaks up, "Hey, Dewey, can we go now?"
Dewey gestures to her, "Hold on a second."
"Goddamn it, Dewey!" Tatum snaps. Other officers, sitting at their desks 'Ooo' at their public argument.
"What did mama tell you? When I wear this badge, you treat me like a man of the law!"
Tatum grabs her handbag, "I'm sorry, Deputy Dewey-boy, but we're ready to go. Now, okay?" She says, exasperated.
Dewey looks around nervously at his co-workers.
Burke grips his arm, "Take 'em out the back way. Avoid that circus out there." His co-workers can be heard laughing as Dewey leads all three of you out.
You all step outside of the precinct into the drab alleyway.
Dewey walks ahead of you. "You guys just stay here. I'm gonna get the car. Don't move. Don't make a sound." He walks off out of the alley.
Sidney hugs herself, and Tatum squeezes her shoulder. You lace your fingers with Sid's.
"There they are. Sidney and Y/N!" A voice calls out from behind you.
To everyone's dismay, it was Gale Weathers.
"Hi, that's some night. What happened? Are you both alright?" Immediately Gale goes into interview mode. Her cameraman points the camera at the three of you. You bring your hand up to cover your eyes, shielding them from the bright light illuminating atop the camera.
Tatum moves to conceal Sidney, "They're not answering any questions, alright? Just leave us alone."
Sidney steps forward, "No. No, Tatum, it's okay. She's just doing her job, right, Gale?" She asks gingerly. She forces a fake smile, trying to ignore the urge to spit on Gale's face. If Gale wanted to put up a sympathetic facade, two could play at that game.
More reporters and camera crew flee to the alleyway. They crowd next to and behind Gale. You hide behind Tatum, not wanting to draw attention to yourself. You didn't want to know what people had to say about your little stunt earlier that day.
Gale nods, "Yes, that's right."
Dewey drives the car into the alley.
"So, how's the book?" Sid asks, her eyes watering.
Gale goes along with the nice act, "Well, it'll be out later this year."
Sid's voice cracks, "Oh, I'll look for it," She says sarcastically, turning her back to Gale.
"I'll send you a copy."
Sid doesn't hesitate to swing at Gale's face.
Gale wails in pain and falls back in shock. She certainly did not see that one coming. Her cameraman catches her best he can while still holding the large camera on his right shoulder. Gale clutches her cheek, looking up at Sidney, flabbergasted.
Tatum covers her mouth in awe. Meanwhile, you pat Sidney's back approvingly. Dewey runs out of the car, tugging you and Sidney away from the swarm of reporters. You spit at the ground, near Gale's feet, before allowing yourself to be guided to the car.
"Where'd you learn to punch like that?" Dewey asks off-handedly as you all pile into the car.
You end up staying at the Riley household for the night. Considering how everything played out tonight, it was for the better. You agreed to sleep over as long as you got dibs on the couch. You really did not want to room with anyone. At the end of an eventful day, all you wanted to do was have somewhere to sleep, alone.
Sidney rooms with Tatum, like usual. She lies on the twin-sized bed, a few feet away from Tatum's identical twin-sized bed. Both girls lay on their backs, staring at the ceiling.
"God, I loved it. 'I'll send you a copy.' Bam! Bitch went down." Tatum punches her stuffed animal to demonstrate. She sits up, facing Sidney, "I'll send you a copy.' Bam! Sid...Superbitch! You are so cool."
You and Dewey stand in the doorway. "Thought you might want some ice for that right hook." You toss an ice pack to Sidney, and luckily she catches it.
"Thanks," She says, soothing her knuckles.
"I'll be right next door. Try to get some sleep," Dewey struggles to comfort Sid. She turns to lie on her side. Tatum waves him off, "Yeah, yeah." You and Dewey take the hint and leave. You shut the door, leaving the girls some privacy.
"Do you really think Billy did it?" Tatum asks absentmindedly.
A phone can be heard ringing just outside of the room.
"He was there, Tatum."
Tatum rolls her eyes, "He was destined to have a flaw. I knew he was too perfect."
Tatum's mother, Ms. Riley, knocks on the door before entering. "Telephone, honey."
"Who is it?" The blonde asks.
"It's for Sid."
Sidney turns to face her, "My dad?" She questions optimistically.
Ms. Riley shakes her head, "I don't think so."
"Take a message," Tatum suggests.
Sidney gets up, "No, um, I'll get it."
Ms. Riley looks at her daughter. "How's she doing?" Tatum shrugs in response.
Sidney steps out into the hallway and picks up the phone. "Hello."
"Hello, Sidney," Ghostface's guttural voice spoke.
Sidney panics, "No!"
You and Tatum flock to Sidney.
Ghostface continues, "Poor Billy-boyfriend. An innocent guy doesn't stand a chance with you."
"Leave me alone!"
"Looks like you fingered the wrong guy...again," Ghostface provokes.
"Hang up, Sid," Tatum whispers.
You take the phone from Sid, "Who are you?"
"Don't worry. You'll find out soon enough. I promise."
They hang up on you.

The Faction Contributor [Sci-Fi LitRPG]
While casually studying for his upcoming university exam, Aven suddenly felt the world around him start warping. It started with flashes of light appearing from nowhere, quickly escalating into his whole world becoming an absolute mess of flickering pixels and chaotic color flows, as if reality had become a malfunctioning glitched screen. What he could recognize as numbers, letters, and strange symbols flew everywhere around him, obviously trying to form a coherent whole to be displayed before his eyes, but such attempts kept failing, again and again. Before he could even start thinking about how both mesmerizing and absurd this spectacle was, however, it all stopped, as suddenly as it had begun. Accompanying the end of this unique show, 2 things happened. First, knowledge had spontaneously appeared in his mind and he could perfectly understand it, as if it had always been there, just inaccessible. Second, a weird simultaneously hot and cold energy had made its apparition inside his body completely unannounced. Aven had just simply and purely awakened his innate ability and the energy potential of his cells, joining the world of the supers, a minority that had always controlled and protected the world since ancient times, by becoming one of them. *** Do you have a sci-fi itch to scratch?
