《TMNT 2012 one shots》Leonardo and Chloe

Leo was leaning against a wall, standing on the fire escape of a building. He made sure he was out of view from the street and other buildings, but stuck close to a window with no light on inside; then the light suddenly flicked on. Some movement could be seen inside, and then the window opened and a little blonde girl stuck her head out
"Mr. Turtle?" She asked, looking around the fire escape. She jumped a little when said turtle was suddenly in front of her, then she grinned and lifted her arms. He picked her up and carried her to the roof of the building, he him self couldn't help but smile. Once to the roof he gently set the girl down, who bounced on her feet
"Wow! You really came! I didn't think you would but you did!" She hopped in place, grinning, then laughed and hugged him. Her head went to slightly above his belt. Leo froze for a moment, then gently hugged the girl back, he pulled away when she did, although he was uncomfortable hugging anyone, she was only a girl, and who knows how much she needed that hug.
The girl bounced on her feet and grinned up at 'Mr. Turtle'
"Can we go some where cool?!" She asked excitedly, she had been waiting a week to hang out with him. Since their first meeting when they had their tea party, he met with her every Saturday night. Sometimes for only a few minutes, sometimes until she fell asleep or until the sun started to rise. She hadn't told anyone about him, besides her stuffed animals and her pet cat of course. She knew if she told, he could get in trouble or hurt, and she didn't want that happen to her turtle friend. Leo smiled down at the girl and nodded

"Some where really cool" he grinned a little, then kneeled and turned his back to the girl. She carefully climbed on. Piggy back rides were the easiest way to carry her. Once he was sure she wouldn't fall, he took off across the roof tops, running fast, but not as fast as he usually would, just in case she slipped.
The girl grinned and giggled as they ran, the wind blowing her hair. The city looked so cool and so pretty from up high, and with how fast they were going the lights seemed like stars, like they were flying through space; atleast, in her mind. Once her turtle friend had found out about her love for space, he got her into an old cartoon, it was older than her, but it was silly and she loved it. She felt a hint of disappointment when she felt him slow down, her hair no longer blowing in the wind, and the city now looked like the city. She looked down at Leo, pouting a little,he turned and looked at her with a smile
"Close your eyes" he said with a slight grin, using his head to block whatever he wanted her to see. After some wiggling to try and see, she gave up and closed her eyes. Leo gently set her on the ground and gently grabbed one of her hands, leading her near the edge of the building, but was still a good foot away from the ledge
"Okay, open them"
So she did, and she gasped at what she saw. It was a beautiful sunset, the sky was different shades of pinks and purples, with some oranges and yellows, and some hints of blue. The stars were just starting to show, as the sun was just disappearing. She didn't take her eyes off the beautiful view, her hand reaching up and holding Leo's.

Leo jumped a little at the touch. It wasn't very often that people who touched him didn't intend to hurt him. He felt a smile slowly spread across his face, feeling his muscles relax, and his mind clear. He pushed away all his anxieties and fears. The anxiety of explaining this to his brothers, the anxiety of getting her home on time and quielty, the anxiety of the chance of her telling someone, the anxiety of her being afraid of his brothers, the anxiety of his brothers not letting him visit her any more-
All of it. He pushed it away. He just enjoyed this moment with who he considered to be his daughter in a way. From what she's told him, her mother left her when she was still little, and her dad wasn't around very much. He worked alot, so only on Fridays did he get to actually spend time with her, he also usually bought her a prize on those days. Leo couldn't help but want to help this girl, she was sweet, she didn't judge based off looks, and she was just in need of a family; a real family. Then he thought, at the end of the month, he'll take her to the lair. He's been meeting with her for two months now, he couldn't keep it a secret for ever. Especially when she so badly need to feel the love of a family.
When he felt a small tug on his hand is when he realized she was starting to fall asleep. The sun had set, but she continued to try and stare at the stars. He gently picked her up, and began to carry her home; this time walking
"Thank you Mr. Turtle..this made this week so much better.." she mumbled tiredly, giving him a small smile. He glanced down at her
"What happened this week that made it not good?" He replied in a quiet tone, afraid something happened. She closed her eyes, her smile fading
"Daddy told me he has to go away for work for a few weeks..so my mean sitter is going to be watching me..but I think I'll be okay..I have you.." her voice got quieter, until she stopped talking. He opened his mouth to speak, but stopped realizing she was asleep.
Maybe he'd take her to the lair sooner than he originally planned. She really did need a family, and he really needed the love she gave. He didn't think it would ever happen, but he wanted to adopt her and call her his own. He wished so badly to take her to the lair and have her live with them, but she still had her father, and he couldn't do that to him.
He adjusted her in his arms as he quietly went down the fire escape to her window. He carefully climbed through the window and set her on the bed, tucking her in with her favorite stuffed animal 'Mr. Bear'. He hesitated for a moment, then lightly kissed her forhead
"Goodnight Chloe, see you next week" he whispered, heading back to the window
"Goodbye daddy.." she mumbled, rolling over, then still, going back to sleep.
Hearing that warmed his heart, quiet literally. He felt a smile tug at his lips as he headed out the window, closing it, then heading to the lair.
Maybe one day, she could really be his daughter, or maybe one day, he could have a daughter of his own

Gods How I Hate Nature
While there are always choices in life, lately they’ve all tended to skew between bad, terrible, and suicidal. Tome finds himself typically choosing the latter. As if people and plants consistently trying to kill him wasn’t bad enough, he finds himself sent off to a Mage Spire along with a self-righteous other worlder (as though there were any other kind). Add to this some powerful figures in black, a sadistic instructor, an uptight law keeper, and Tome just wants to go back to his room, down a pint, and forget about everything… But, when someone starts a fight, especially someone bigger and stronger, you bide your time and strength. Before you can get revenge, you have to settle for surviving and slowly gaining power. That means accepting the most suicidal choices, doing the jobs no one else will do, always smiling, and not slitting that other worlder’s throat… (The story will incorporate comedy, but it will be a dark story. This won't be a happy, uplifting tale, but it also won't be too morose or depressing. Though if you're rooting for the other worlders, then I suppose it will be...)

The Chronicles of Artharian Dagworth
Back in 2020 there were many theories on how the world would end. From the many religions apocalypses, nuclear wars that would leave the planet inhabitable, global warming doing the same, biological weapons getting out of control, viruses mutating into unstoppable diseases to the dead raising to prey on humanity, either due to a virus or just because hell filled up. Also, aliens, from the war mongering kind to the ones so advanced they didn’t see us as more than worms. And of course there was the fail proof theory that the world would end when the sun died. In a bunch of billion years give or take. Althougth some new scientist were discussing if the end would be on the take side, since when the sun started dying things would go haywire on the entire solar system and we would collide with mercury or maybe mars way before the expanding sun engulfed earth. But I digress… Now, those were the mainstream theories that the everyday Joe, who didn’t know the big secret, worried about. So, if you were to ask me which theory was correct I can tell you that I haven’t seen any little green man, at least not from another planet, and so far the sun is still shining, although it’s been only 9 years since everything went to hell, not the few billions (give or take) the scientist predicted, so that one isn’t ruled out yet. These two aside, I'd say all of them. Hey everyone, this is my first attempt at writing. I have been planning to do it for a really long time, and while this is not the one epic fantasy idea I ever wanted to write, I think it's a good one. The plan is to write an end of the world urban-fantasy series. Think a world like Dresden Files, Alex Verus, Iron druid, where magic is real but exist hidden from society meets the apocalypse. It will be written in first person in the Dresden Files style, no plans for other POV for now. As you probally alredy guessed from my style, english is not my first langague, so while google corrector helps, expect grammar errors, and I'd be gratefull for anyone to point them. I plan to write 2 to 3 chapters a week, 2000-4000 words each. Might change as I get more experience and depends on my free time. Cover image from the colections of getwallpapers.com
