McCree thought for a long time. He paced back and forth through the kitchen pulling his hands through his hair.

"I have to go down and help."

McCree quickly grabbed his coat from the closet and headed to the doc house. McCree got there with several men running around. Several of them had flashlights pointed into the water off the side of the doc. Boats were out as well. Several of the fishermen from the boats were also spread out looking into the water. They yelled to one another. Men were running back and forth across the doc in a panic. McCree pushed his way through the crowd. He saw Jacob leaning over the edge of the doc and stared into the water while people shined their lights.

"Jacob!"

Jacob turned and stood up staring at McCree with a scared expression.

"Jesse! Thank god you're here!"

"What the hell is going on?!"

"It's Hanzo! He's fallen into the water! He hasn't come up and we can't find him!"

McCree gasped and stared at Jacob shocked. He knew Hanzo would have to swim away before everyone found out, but why hasn't he come back yet? Jacob spoke up.

"It was almost like something came up and pulled him in!"

Just then Lucas walked up from behind them with an angry look on his face. He looked determined and started loading his spear gun.

"Great observation Mr. Jacob. You are correct." Lucas exclaimed. " It was another goddamn mermaid that pulled him in! And I'm gonna catch it! You can bet your ass!"

Jacob turned to face Lucas in anger.

"Enough Lucas! Mermaids are not real! The sooner you get that through your damn head the better!"

McCree thought hard. Was it possible that another mermaid could have taken Hanzo? He had to see if Hanzo was ok. While Jacob and Lucas were arguing McCree took off his jacket and walked by Lucas taking the spear gun from his hands and immediately dove into the water. Jacob stared in shock and leaned over the edge of the doc, but it was too late. McCree was gone. McCree dove beneath the doc and looked around. It was pitch black. In the distance McCree could faintly see the mast of the doc. His eyes traced down the pole and he saw Hanzo with his tail out pinned against the pole. He struggled for freedom. McCree looked further to see that he was being held at the neck by a person! How could someone hold their breath for this long? McCree didn't hesitate. He aimed the spear gun at the other man and took a shot right in his shoulder. The other man turned wincing in pain and let go of Hanzo, but McCree stared when he saw that it wasn't a person. He looked down at the figure. He had a bright green tail and was wearing a strange mask. Hanzo quickly swam away scooping up McCree. They got to a beach hidden by rocks and Hanzo dragged McCree ashore. McCree coughed hard and spat out water. Hanzo took deep breaths trying to recuperate. He turned McCree over to see him.

"Jesse! Are you alright?"

"Fine. Who the hell was that?!"

Hanzo sighed and looked down.

"I'm not sure. I would guess it was a mermaid assasin come to kill me."

McCree looked up and noticed Hanzo's neck was bruised badly. McCree put his hand to Hanzo's chin and raised it up to see the injury. Hanzo tried to push him away.

"No, I'm fine Jesse."

"Just lemme see it Hanz. Please."

Hanzo sighed and let McCree look at his neck.

"We'll put some ice on it tonight."

"What are we going to tell everyone?"

"Not sure. I'll make it up as I go, but what are we gonna do about that merman assadin?"

Hanzo stared intently into the water.

"Wait here."

Hanzo dove back into the water splashing McCree. He stood and watched Hanzo's tail be swallowed by the sea. McCree waited for a sound, a voice, something, just then Hanzo appeared from the water once again dragging the other merman out with him. A spear was still stuck in his shoulder. Hanzo threw the merman onto the beach and shook him around.

"Who sent you?!"

"I suppose the world has sent me. Or perhaps out paths are meant to cross." The merman said through his mask. "Besides I thought you would be more glad to see me!"

He pulled a knife on Hanzo and raised it to his neck. He flipped Hanzo to the sand and held his body down firmly. He grunted a bit in pain, for his arm was covered with blood. The merman looked up to see Jesse staring back in shock. He got himself to stand. The merman stared back down at Hanzo. You have been speaking to mankind?! They should not even know we exist! You bring yourself shame, Hanzo!"

The merman yelled and spat at Hanzo's face, but he could tell he was suffering. He made slight winces in pain and occassionally grabbed at His shoulder. All of a sudden the merman began breathing loudly. He looked weak. Hanzo striked his shoulder and the merman fell down and exclaimed loudly. In an attempt to knock out his attacker Hanzo aimed a punch towards the mermans metal helmet, but he didn't need to. The merman had passed out. Hanzo gasped and climbed off of the strange merman. McCree scrambled in the sand to stand up. He ran to Hanzo and started to drag him away from the merman.

"No wait Jesse!"

Hanzo got out of McCree's grip and flopped back over to the assasin. Blood spilled from his shoulder, but Hanzo looked down at the merman's tail to see a large hole. He looked closer.

"Jesse! This merman has been shot!"

"Who gives a damn! He tried to attack you!"

"Do you not want to find out why? He must live if we want answers."

"What do you wanna do about it?"

"We must take him back to the house."

"What! No way!"

"Jesse please! There is no where else to go."

McCree clenched his teeth and stared sternly at Hanzo.

"Fine! Dry off and help me pick him up."

Hanzo used his power to evaporate the water from his body. His legs came back and he stood up.

"His body is too wet for me to carry."

Hanzo took off his jacket and used it to lift the mermans tail. McCree picked him up by the shoulders and they started walking back home. McCree and Hanzo grunted occasionally having to set the body down. McCree stopped to catch his breath.

"These tails weigh a ton!"

"McCree. This merman will die at this rate. We must....we must go faster!"

"He's just too heavy Hanz! How can we go any faster?"

Hanzo stared at the ground in regret. He cursed under his breath and stared at McCree in sorrow.

"What is it?

"We...we could...dry...him off?"

McCree's eyes became wide. He stared in shock.

"Turn him human?! But won't he y'know...be naked?"

Hanzo nodded in regret. He pulled his hands through his hair trying to rhink of another way, but this was the only one least likely of ending in disaster.

"Yes, but he's going to die if we don't Jesse. Here, I'll wrap my jacket around him. Hanzo set the body down and wrapped his jacket around the waist of the merman then held his hands out. He slowly began evaporating the water. All of a sudden the merman's legs appeared and the tail was gone. Hanzo's jacket stayed wrapped around the merman's waist.

"Alright, let's go. We must hurry!"
