《JAHS/ELEY》Chapter 5: The Almost Reunion

I woke up at around 8 am. I fluttered my eyes, squinting at the bright whiteness coming from the window. I sit up on my bed and start to feel around, and felt a lump and look over. The person was completely covered on the sheet so I couldn't tell who it was. It better not be a girl, that's all I know.
I pull the cover off slightly, just because the person was completely still and not moving so they must still be asleep. I was kind of scared to be honest but I need to see who the fuck is in my bed with me, and if anything went down from the huge party that Miles took me to. I don't remember much from that, I probably drank too much and blacked out, that explains why I have such a bad headache.
I pulled the cover off all the way hoping it wasn't a girl, but it revealed something even more disappointing, It was Miles. I rolled my eyes and shook him until he woke up. "Wake up, motherfucker. Bright and fuckin early." I said getting off the bed. He groaned and pulled the covers back on him. I pulled them off of him, "You can't be in bed all day, boy. And why are you sleeping over anyway? Why didn't you just go home?" I asked. "I wasn't going to let your drunk ass go home alone, and the party was miles away from my house so I just decided to drive us back here." He says in a raspy morning voiced stretching and getting up. He was in his boxers and had no shirt on, revealing his chest and his tattoos. "I was drunk? What happened?" I asked, curious. "Nigga you were OUT after s few drinks. You were chugging that shit like water, some dudes tried to get at you and your stupid ass was finna go with them. I had to pose as your man to get them away, you're welcome." He says getting up and walking out the room. "I'm hungry as hell, man. Whip up some grits." He says yawning going into the kitchen. "I'm not your maid." I say whining. "You are today, house boy." He says as he sits at the dining room table.

Later
Miles left finally after this dude raided my fridge of my snacks, food and some of my popsicles I desperately needed in this hot fucking Florida heat. Guess I have to go to the store. I don't have my ankle monitor on me right now, after Miles' dumbass done snipped them, I've kept it in my room. I put on some black jeans and a black jacket. I've head this stupid jacket since high school and haven't worn it since like sophomore year. It still looks in good shape so I'm going to wear it, even though all I'm going to is the grocery store. It's not too far so I'm just not going to use my car.
At the store
"$24.99 for fuckin vanilla ice cream?" I say picking up the small pint of ice cream. "The size doesn't live up to the price." I say putting it down. I've been looking around for the popsicles I usually get and for some reason I can't find them and I'm getting really annoyed. I look around for an employee and I see someone familiar, after closer inspection, I realize it's my neighbor. Durag guy. Again. I see this guy any and everywhere. I feel like I feel like I'm being followed. I don't even know his name so I can't can't even say hi if I wanted to.
I turned around and start walking away, not to trigger an awkward conversation. I hate when someone knows my name but I don't know theirs. I walk as fast as I could but not too fast to make it obvious.
"Jahseh!" I hear behind me, I wince because I now have to have a conversation with durag man. It's not that he's annoying or creepy because that's most definitely not the case. His face tats are really nice, and the do kinda turn me on. He looks like a snack also. He's wearing a yellow sweater that says "vengeance" on it, and some black jeans. I turn around and he's walking towards me. I give him a little smile and wave. "Hey." I say, my quirkiness showing through. "Uh Hey. How are you?" He asks me. He seems really happy today. "Not so great, I can't find popsicles." I say looking around again for an aisle sign that might say ice cream or an employee. "They're right there." He says, pointing to my left, and there were the popsicles I usually get. "Oh." I say chuckling and picking up one bag of the treat and place it into my basket. He chuckles also. We start walking around the store just picking up randomly picking up random snacks and food just because, all the while I didn't know his name. He's actually an interesting person, he told me about how he grew up with Jamaican parents and his dad was a rapper. He also told me how he works as at an animal shelter and shit, and how it's sad sometimes because the animals that come in are abused, really hurt or have been abandoned, or if he lucky then the animal is just fine, the family just can't afford to take care of the animal animal. I learned a lot of cool things about him which is cool.

He paid for the things I got, I tried to tell him that I had money and he didn't have to do pay for anything.
"Yo dude, you don't have to waste your money." I say trying to swat his hand away from the machine, but he grabs my arm and moves me out the way. "Nah bro, it's all good." He says paying for everything, including the things he got. Totaling over a hundred dollars.
We walk out of the store, and start walking to the lot, where I assume is where his car is. "Thank you, for doing that. You didn't have to." I said to him as we approach I assume his car. "Don't worry about it, man. Just a simple favor." I nod and smile at him. It went silent for a second and then I remembered what I was going to ask him. "Oh, um, I never got your na-" and as I was going to ask, I was cut off by someone calling me. It was Miles, as per usual. I roll my eyes and answer. "Hello?"
"Jah, bro. We need to talk when you get back home, I'm coming over." Miles says in a serious tone. Mike is always sarcastic and giggly and barely ever gets serious. I'm usually the one being serious. "What? Why?" I ask. "Just call me when you get home." He says hanging up.
"Do you need a ride?" He asks. I smile and look down. "No, no, no. It's all good." "Come on, Jahseh, you can't walk all the way back to the apartments." He says opening his car to get in. "Trust me, I'm fine.. it's only like a 4 block walk." He rolls his eyes and smiles. "Alright, see you later then." I nod and thank him again for everything as I watch him drive off. He's a heart breaker, but I could TELL he's a straight man. Oh why are gay guys so hard to find around Florida?
